My mother who is 75 years old scheduled an appointment online, on 8-19-25 for today 9-2-25 at 9:30 am, She arrived at her appointment. She was told by the receptionist she did not have a an appointment scheduled, my mother tried to explain to her that she scheduled the appointment online. My mother ask, if there any way she could be worked into the schedule,The receptionist said no,my mother mention to the receptionist that she wished that she was able to book the appointment with a live person instead of scheduling an appointment online as Using computers can be difficult for most senior citizens, in addition to that mother got lost and she couldn't call for directions because the office does not take incoming phone calls. The reason I'm leaving this review is 1) any medical facility should always be courteous and respectful to seniors,to turn my mother away in the matter that she did was unprofessional and was unacceptable. You treat everyone the way you want to be treated. What if that was your grandmother? Would you want her treated that way? I don't think so. My mother mentioned she asked to speak to the doctor , the receptionist she refused to help my mother. I've been in dentistry for over 35 years. Dr. Egan is very young. AND SHE IS TERRIBLY SHY!! She is not out to when 'Miss Popularity'. If you want that - go to the Miss Universe Contest. She is in her office to provide professional services. And she did that for me at a very reasonable price. For god's sake, she is young and probably by nature an introvert. Look at her credentials. I finally had enough of this practice, I was on antibiotics for my ear for over two months and she kept telling me I had an infection. The clean out procedure of my ear was horrible and caused severe pain. I finally went to another ENT for a second opinion. He cleaned out my ear, but no pain . it turns out I never had an ear infection, but my new diagnosis is TMJ, which was never discussed with me at her office. I think she's highly intelligent and she would be better teaching, but there's no money in that. Shocked to read some of these negative reviews which go back 4-5 years or more. Ok. Maybe she was in a not so good building or office and had a bad apple on her staff. Let's give it that. It changed. And now let's fast forward to May, 2021. Having been in countless doctors offices over the decades, I know good from bad. This is good. The gentleman answering the phone was polite and helpful. I arrived at the office and was greeted by a most friendly receptionist. The office was immaculate with a most pleasant decor. Not over the top like some cosmetic surgeons. Cozy. Comfy. Welcoming. After being placed in a room, Dr. Egan arrived in under 2 minutes. We discussed my issues and what I wanted to accomplish. Her recommendation and approach was something I had not even known about and I'm thrilled with her suggestion, treatment and immediate results. I've seen mention of her 'bedside manner'. I'm not here to make BFFs. I'm here to look better and that was exactly what happened. She answered all my questions and was as pleasant as could be. She is my go-to from now on for any non-invasive facial treatments and she can accomplish them all without anesthesia assisted surgery. I'd give 10 stars if I could. read more

I am extremely grateful I found Dr.Egan. I had been suffering from throat and nose issues for months, bouncing from doctor to doctor with no real answer. My symptoms were affecting my daily life and I was not able to eat properly, work or exercise. I came in for an appointment and that same day I felt relief. She said I was suffering from LPR, something I had never heard of in my entire life. I saw other ENTs and they were not able to pinpoint it. Thankfully Dr. Egan was an expert at it. She started my treatment right away. She sent me home with 3 prescriptions, diet changes, lifestyle recommendations, a flyer that explained the condition, and follow up visits. Other doctors had just suggested surgery and provided no real help. After months of dealing with this condition, it slowly started to get better. Everything she suggested helped; the medicines, the diet change, the nasal sprays. She said it would take about 4 weeks to heal, and almost exactly at the 4th week I was feeling relief. I am so thankful there are experts like her for times when you are so desperate for help. Other reviews mention negative things about her office, scheduling, whatever. I decided to try this office after buying a Groupon for Botox. The office only has a certain day to see Groupon clients. Dr. Egan was nice but the appt was very fast. I ended up having a bruise on my forehead and my eyebrows ended up looking terrible. She dropped my frown area too much and my outer eyebrows are too high. My family, friends and co-workers are shocked. I tried to make a follow up appt to get them fixed but like I said they only see the Groupon clients on a certain day and I work on that day. I hate to write a bad review of any kind but I would not suggest going to this office. Our 9 month old had chronic ear infections so we were referred out to see an ENT. We needed to get in quickly somewhere as he wasn't responding to antibiotics. Dr Egan was the only dr in the South Bay with a same day opening (we called nearly 10 before calling her office). Her office seemed dirty and outdated upon arrival...we waited only a few minutes after supplying her CNA with our sons medical history. Dr Egan enters, sits down and says "looks like we need to do surgery". I stopped her and said "are you even going to look at his ears?"...her response, "I can if you want me to, I can see based on his history that he needs tubes. I can do next Wednesday". I shut it down right then and there and we left, made an appt for a second opinion. The second dr not only did NOT recommend surgery on him but he also said he wouldn't put in tubes while he has an active infection (after he looked in his ears he said they were very badly infected). After a new course of action, his infection went away and we have avoided surgery all together. Now, I got our bill and we are on the hook for $140 office visit ($300 for consult before insurance). If you go here, I recommend getting a second opinion. I went to her to inquire about a medical concern of mine, she was very unpleasant, not personable from the moment she walked in the patient room. She quoted my on a procedure that would cost $700, I knew that was overpriced and out of budget, so I went to another ENT doctor who did the same procedure for $75! She also tried to sell me on custom ear plugs for when going in the ocean, her office could produce for me....definitely an up sell sales tactic which didn't seem necessary. Anyways, the procedure is complete and I am fine now, to think of the price difference of the procedure for her service vs. another doctor is insane. Also I was billed $300 for the visit, my portion was $140 - was unaware of the price prior to making my appointment. They didn't inform me nor brought up the cost after the appointment - was surprised when I saw the bill. Nonetheless I paid my share and hope no one experiences the same. Also the billing lady never returned any of my calls, had to follow up multiple times to speak about this concern which led to her hanging up on me after an initial conversation - how rude. Overall the customer service and practice, from my experience was very unpleasant and would stay away - I should have read the reviews before making my appointment and wasting my time. Do not go to this Dr.! I found her through Livingsocial for a botox special. She has a horrible bedside manner; she barely spoke to me when she came into the room. Then as she proceeded to do the injections, she spilled the botox all over my shirt!!!! Then to top it off, she didn't even clean up the blood from the injection sites, so when I got to my car, I had blood all over my face!!! Horrible! And the best part, she didn't even honor the price of the Livingsocial voucher that her assistant had told me over the phone they would honor. Avoid this place like the plague! read more

Very surprised at the low ratings. My experience with Dr. Egan has been great. She is very knowledgeable and took the time to explain how the various parts of my ear and sinus were connected, helping me to understand how my ear issue occurred. She was very pleasant. Before conducting a small procedure she explained to me the insurance cost and made sure I understood so that there would not be a surprise. Its interesting that the low ratings are for insurance issues and office staff. I will agree the lady in the front office can be very rude, especially if they are busy, but her male medical assistant is very pleasant. One should do their due diligence before hand and find out how much they procedure or charges may be. With all the insurance changes it can be a surprise to the bill you get, especially if you are on Covered California. You can't entirely blame that on the doctor's office, they are not insurance experts. read more

To be fair, the appointment was fine and Dr Egan took time to discuss concerns and questions offering satisfactory explanations. Unlike most ENTs, however, she did not use a numbing spray prior to inserting the camera head through the nose and into the throat. Numbing the nose is standard elsewhere but not used by Dr Egan. The result was unnecessary throat irritation and nose pain that lasted over the three following days. Others have noted her anti-social behavior but on my visit Dr Egan tried hard to be sociable though it felt a bit awkward, unnatural and forced. And yes, like other Yelpers, she billed my insurance an insane amount of money given the very minimal service she provided. Something is not right. Be aware too that unlike most offices, patients here will *not* be given a reminder phone call prior to the appointment. If the patient forgets to show up to the appointment or does not cancel with a 24 hour notice, the patient will be charged the full appointment price. Patient care is obviously not the priority here, know this place is simply a business. Read the paperwork you sign. You will be asked to sign a waiver giving permission for Dr Egan to take photos of your body for her promotional, media and online advertising purposes and to allow her to alter and modify these images to her discretion. Hmmnn. Note: For legal purposes the patient can cross out any sentence or words they do not agree with; be sure to initial each line you cross out. This is an update on the previous review - if I could downsize my rating, I would. Regarding the billing system - even though we disputed the co-pay charge on this, we still promptly paid it on January 9 (because we're honest & don't want to deal with collections and poor credit ratings). According to our bank, that check cleared on January 22. HOWEVER, we continued to receive billing statements telling us our account would go to collections if left unpaid. This past week, while out of the country on vacation, we received a call from their very rude 'business' office telling us we were past due. We told them we paid the bill in January, were currently out of the country but would send them the canceled copy of the check upon return. The billing 'clerk' continued to threaten & harass us that our account would be sent to collections and reported to credit agencies promptly. At this point, my husband hung up. We have since returned & provided proof - with no response from their office. read more

I needed to get my tonsils out and Dr. Egan was/is in my network. I was really skeptical since she's got awful reviews on here... but I was desperate to get my death tonsils out. I was super scared! I had heard horror stories about adult tonsillectomies. My husband was admitted for complications for 2 weeks after his procedure. My dad was bedridden for 1.5 weeks... Dr. Egan handled my surgery like a champ and I was eating solids again in 4 days (if you can call a bean burrito a solid). She supposedly started taking out tonsils with a new procedure which reduces recovery time. She's really straight forward, very methodical. Not a talker, which is fine. She's a doctor. I don't expect doctors to be chatty Cathys. No complaints on my end as long as she can deliver on her surgeries. Her staff was always sweet; the doctor lacked sociability, but Adrian, her assistant made up for it. If I were to have to get another surgery that involved my ENT, I'd go back to her. read more

I knew something wasn't right when the medical assistant was also the person to inform me of the cost of the visit and the one who kindly asked how I planned to handle the $600 for the visit. Once I shared my plan for payment and it was approved by Egan and her Office Manager, I got to see Egan, ENT. Now, I was urgently referred to this Egan, ENT due to a painful and apparently dangerous swelling in my neck area due to an infection and blockage in my salivary gland. I went to her in pain and vulnerable-- paid what she demanded... But I was not treated humanely or with respect. 1. Be sure you go to Egan with your pocketbook/wallet open. 2. If she recommends surgery get a 2nd opinion quickly 3. Not sure why she became a Dr, but it certainly wasn't to care for people. read more

My review is of their billing systems. I never even got a chance to see this doctor. I know some reviews said their billing person was rude and I can say she wasn't rude to me today. But I will tell you guys what happened. I made an appointment because I had an ear infection and now my ear is ringing. AFTER I made this appointment I saw these terrible reviews but i was kind of desperate but I made sure to ask questions before I had any unexpected charges. They told me I would have to pay either $100 or $150 ahead of time (sorry I can't remember exactly the amount) because I have a deductible. I thought that was odd and called my insurance who verified to me that this doctor was in my network and the office visit was $25 only. The office stood firm saying they needed to charge me for the entire office visit. Here I am on the phone with my insurance and they are telling me they are not allowed to do that. I finally got out of them (insurance lady) that they are charging me ahead of time for any services beyond the doctors visit I might incur. I thought that was very odd. The insurance lady then asked me my symptoms. So apparently they will not let you see the doctor unless you pay for any unknown services you MIGHT get. Again, I had not been seen, I don't even know if I needed additional services and they didn't know that either. I need to double check if they can do this but this was my situation with them. I will update when I find out if this was ok or not. SO FAR my insurance company says this is is a big no no. Doctors office is saying they are totally in the ok in doing this. UPDATE: Ok so essentially this doctors office is charging a "deposit." They don't want to be out any $$ if you go in for an office visit and the doctor performs any procedure and you have to meet a deductible (this makes much more sense after seeing that this doctor likes to charge for every and any little thing (IE someone said she charges surgery fee's left and right). I spoke to my insurance company 2x who said they are not allowed to do this and the doctors office said 2x they ARE allowed to do this. So who knows? What I will say is even if this doctor is in your network they are going to charge you a deposit just in case the doctor does something else. read more

I know a lot of the time people think that Yelp reviews are the "be all end all," but sometimes those reviews are very wrong or very outdated -- I believe that is the case with Dr. Egan. Dr. Egan is hands-down one of the most accomplished and informed ENT's out there. I've had serious sinus issues for quite sometime, she was the fifth or sixth Doctor I've seen, and the only one near senseless enough to suggest alternative treatments (i.e. Septoplasty). Her surgical degrees and laudations speak for themselves. She's a gifted surgeon, no doubt. I've always thought her bed-side manner was excellent. She personally responds within 24-48hrs of emailing her (even after post surgery). As far as billing goes, I certainly never had a problem. If anything, the staff is timely and professional (a standard of quality and organization that I prefer). Dr. Kristin Egan performed a blepharoplasty procedure and sculptra in early 2019. The procedure turned out great and looks amazing a year later. I've had a few procedures in LA and there are a lot of bad ps out there, but Dr. Egan explained the procedure, expectations, pricing and put me at ease. I'm not sure why some reviews have an issue with her bedside manner. Dr. Egan is nice, kind, personable, answers all your questions and is knowledgeable. I was looking for a good ps not a preschool teacher. She even talked me out of a filler that would not have achieved my desired result. I was resistant to make an appointment with Dr. Egan based on the reviews I read online and after my experience I wish I would have followed my instinct. Dr. Egan suctured my left ear due to a hematoma (cauliflower ear). I scheduled to have the suctures removed 7 days after the visit and was unable to go to Dr. Egan's office to have the suctures removed due to a work event. I called the office several times for advice on how to proceed. After several messages and five total calls without a response, I went to an urgent care physician to remove the suctures the night before my scheduled appointment with Dr. Egan's office. The procedure did not work as the hematoma had filled with fluid on each side of the suctures and between them as explained by the Dr. that removed the suctures. I experiened two sleepless nights from the pain of the procedure and scarring from the suctures due to the hematoma filling with fluid again. I received the bill from my procedure (Dr. Egan is in network and I have a PPO) and was surprised at the amount I was billed and the amount I personally had to pay because insurance would not cover the overage. I called Dr. Egan's office and was able to speak to someone about the billing. This is where the story gets worse. I was very cordial when conversing about the billing issue as I am a true believer that you get far better service when you treat people with respect and do not lose your temper. The person I spoke with did not and left me shocked in her unprofessional demeanor and tone. She went as far as exclaiming that Dr. Egan probably saved my life because it could have spread to my brain and given me brain damage. I reminded her that I was only calling to see why my insurance had not covered the procedure as I was in network and if there was something they could do. She then went on a tirade that she had my social security number and DOB and that I was an idiot for not paying. I explained to her that I had not once mentioned not making a payment and that there was no reason for her to speak to me that way. She hung up on me. I called back to ask for an office manager or Dr Egan to call me back and again she hung up. I was simply baffled at her antagonizing nature, name calling and lack of ability to follow the conversation or answer even one of my questions. I am not one to file complaints but this employee threatened my security information so I am forced to follow up with the Better Business Board and medical board as well. I regret the conversation was not recorded as this description does not do justice to the conversation that took place. I am still shocked by the conduct of this employee. read more

So after my son had suffered from allergies and breathing issues, I scheduled an appointment with this doctor against my better judgement after reading the reviews. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS!! First, the office is incredibly rude. Second, most important the doctor spends less than 3 minutes in with my son. After some nasal spray rx, I schedule an appt with an actual ENT provider that properly examines their patients. The new provider was clear that my sons tonsils, adnoids need to be removed as well as referred us to an allergist where my son is allergic to life. Again, Dr. Egan did not listen or care to anything I said. After leaving, I start receiving a crazy bill. Are you kidding me ? Then I receive a call today from a front office telling me/ threatening me that if I dont pay my sons bill in full by noon, they are sending me to collections. Please note, I have attempted to call this office several times to complain. I was billed for an advanced exam of a pediatric patient. Dr. Egan DID NOT PERFORM THE APPROPRIATE TIME AND/ OR EXAM to bill for this complex exam. When I started to tell the front office woman who was threatening me that I am absolutely not paying this bill after the service we received, she hung up on me. The office would not return my calls. Dr Egan and her staff are and have been nothing but professional and caring during all my visits. I had a sinus issue going on and had to have a minor surgery. Dr Egan walked me through the whole procedure and the surgery went perfect. I am breathing and sleeping a lot better now. I didn't have any billing issues my insurance covered all of it. Dr. Egan helped my daughter in 2016 when she got sick and lost over 80% of her hearing and healed her. I recently had issues breathing through my nose on my own and knew I had to find the right doctor. I remembered she deals with the nose as well and thought she might be able to help me. Well, I can't thank her enough for curing me. This is life changing. I should have posted a review back in 2016 but I didn't think of doing it. So now, I am over the moon with relief. I never thought I would be writing a review of an ENT doctor! My experience with Dr Egan is worth noting and it's a shame that people tend to only review the negatives when it comes to health care. I had a severe deviated septum and blocked sinuses that was partially fixed in 2015 with a septoplasty & sinoplasty. Earlier this year I had a very bad sinus infection that led to me searching for yet another ENT as I did not want to return to the same ENT that didn't get the job done the first time. Since, sadly, I now know a lot about ENT health and doctors, here are a few important things to know about Dr Egan: 1) I made an appointment within one week of my GP's referral. This is very important as it can be difficult to get on the schedule with ENTs 2) she wasn't quick to recommend surgery. This is obviously how doctors get paid, but it's never nice to experience a surgery-driven doctor 3) her bed side manners were kind and gentle. Understandably, it's usually no fun to get instruments in you're nose - but it definitely helps when the doctor takes it easy 4) and perhaps the biggest point of them all.... cathy, her assistant that deals with insurance companies, got the procedure approved and managed a complex claim process. Insurance for this type of surgery is very complicated and rarely in the patients favor. Cathy deals with a lot of grief and was able to minimize my out-of-pocket costs 5) the procedure was successful and follow up was as caring and professional as my first appointment Nose and sinus surgery for non-cosmetic reasons can be a challenge but if done right can really change your life - I can breathe again! I went to Doctor Egan for repeated sinus infections. I was advised by friends that had had similar problems, and they recommended seeing an ENT. I am glad I hadn't seen the reviews before I may have missed out on a GREAT doctor! Doctor Egan was very professional and she also helped entertain my son on the two visits he came with me. (My son is 2.5 years old!) Because it was surgery, I also had a second option. The other doctor insisted I see an allergist (in their office) and that I get treated for allergies on a weekly basis since I didn't want to take pills. In addition, they also wanted me to get an updated sleep study, and they wanted me to try nasal sprays before getting surgery. Anyone that has had repeated sinus infections (4+ more a year) knows you just want relief. Being a single mother & working full time, I don't have time to get sleep studies, weekly allergy visits, etc. I felt the other doctor was trying to scam my insurance company for money. When I told Doctor Egan I had tried nasal sprays & was just tired of the repeated infections, she said that she wanted to perform the surgery to correct my deviated septum and ballonoplasty my clogged sinuses. I was relieved as I had heard the surgery worked well for some of my friends. The surgery was great, and I have noticed a HUGE difference! I have had a few head colds since my surgery, and thankfully none have turned into sinus infections!!! Since the surgery I can breathe better & my sinuses can now drain properly! It's WONDERFUL!!!!! I also enjoyed the fact that she didn't try to force me to do anything unnecessary either. In today world it's nice to know good doctors that will help you out & not try to charge you for unnecessary procedures. Additionally, the office staff was very kind, courteous, etc. I have received bills from her. No issues with insurance, no issues with anything there. (Also the other doctors bills were actually more money than Doctor Egans!) I have been a responsible customer and paid my bills so no issues with collections, etc. If you have an issue with sinuses I would highly recommend her! She is great! read more

"it is my job to be rude, I am a collector" - billing office. No, it is not your job to be rude, it is your job to collect the money. This clearly echos other peoples experiences in this office. This is after I had a chat with the receptionist about the bill 2 weeks prior, and she clearly miscommunicated when she told me, "the outstanding bill on your account is fine. You can pay that later, don't worry about it". Don't get me wrong Dr. Egan and Adrian were extremely nice, but the way I was treated by the collector is probably going to make me get a new doctor. read more

Ok we are new to the south-bay and I thought we would try a Dr. here rather than driving to westwood where we have our family Dr. For the last 18 years. Well to start we didn't have to wait and parking is great so all good so far. My son had a ear infection which the dr. Looked at gave us a prescription which was costly and not in stock at Walgreens or cvs. That was an issue but ok got it done. All good with the ear and that was it. No follow up and no follow up from the dr. That's fine. Here is were the bad comes. I get a bill from the dr. She charged my ins. Company $450. Dollar which is just outrageous but I have insurance and it is what ever. But they charged me another 5.96. So I call up to pay and ask a few questions. Well they could not be more aggressive and rude. I was a little shocked because it just wasn't called for but here is where I give them 2 stars. They won't take my payment they want me to mail a check which I was worried about. They refused to take a credit card or just waive the 6 dollars. Ok they don't have to waive it but they should have been nice at least. My wife drives over and paid cash they were not better to her and than said you could have paid by credit card. Well if that was the case there would be no reason to drive over and pay them. The whole time the staff was not nice or helpful or even cared about my son issue. Fine they don't have to, it's a business but if they want repeat business I would think they would be nice. They way over billed they were rude and they just made it way too much work. I would not go back and I wouldn't tell anyone to give it a try. It's over my son is good and my bill is paid. Reviews for Dr. Egan have either one star or 5 stars. So, one of the 2 groups must be lying, and it is not difficult to figure out why people post untrue reviews. Con artists have all the incentives in the world to recruit reviewers who would lie for them. My wife had pain in her ear but Dr Egan was the only ENT doctor available to see her without having to wait. There is a reason why she has no patients while all other ENT doctors are busy. Dr. Egan took a quick look and prescribed an antibiotic with an instructions to see her again if she continued to have pain in her ear. The visit lasted less than 5 minutes. Sure enough the pain did not go away, and my wife made another appointment with Dr. Egan. She did nothing except to prescribe the same antibiotic again. After the 3rd visit, my wife finally realized that Dr. Egan is a fraud. My wife made an appointment with a "real" ENT doctor who prescribed an inexpensive generic medication and her problem was cured within days. The ENT doctor told my wife that she did not need to come back for a second visit. We then did some research into the antibiotic prescribed by Dr. Egan. We found out #1 it is only effective on treating a very "narrow range" of infection. #2 there are warnings that it should not be used for more than 2 weeks and it should be stopped immediately if the symptoms did not improve. It was not just plain incompetent but outright irresponsible for Dr. Egan to prescribe that antibiotics 3 consecutive times. We should give her the benefit of a doubt when she prescribed it for the first time, although she might have chosen it because it was the WRONG medication. There is no valid reason for her to prescribe the same medication the second and third time - knowing full well that she is endangering the well being of her patients. Of course, there is a perfect motive for Dr. Egan to prescribe that medication because she knew quite well that it would NOT cure my wife's simple health issue. She can prey on her patients by asking them to pay for multiple visits - that prescribing a dangerous and ineffective medication would ensure that she is making more money from her victims. It is common practice for ENT doctor to clean a patient's ear, and so health insurance would typically pay for those procedures. Dr. Egan did not clean my wife's ear and yet she claimed to have performed an unknown mysterious procedure in each visit. We asked for an explanation but all they did was to give us the run around. Many other patients have the same experience like us. I should add that the office is shared by several unrelated doctors. We typically see no other patients or just 2 or 3 waiting to see "a" doctor but none of us should assume that Dr. Egan has any other patient(s) waiting to see her. Those posting 5-star reviews said that Dr Egan has a wonderful staff, and typically Adrian was cited as an example. However, Adrian would tell you that he is just the receptionist in the shared doctor office. He is not employed by Dr. Egan and he cannot answer any questions about Dr. Egan. I guess the fake reviewers are running out of lies to paint a rosy picture for Dr. Egan and so any random shared helpers are glorified to say that they are extraordinary also - just like Dr. Egan. I especially love it when one of them said that Dr. Egan's billing person did not wait for one single second to waive co-payments for treatment as soon as one of the alleged patient said that she could not afford to pay.
