I dyed my hair on 5/6 and asked on Yelp on 5/8 and got my treatment on 5/21. I can't believe she has the audacity to reply my reviews with lies like this. I will include pics of my Yelp project as well as her reply! I caution everyone to stay away from this shady business. Original review: I was looking around for a keratin treatment in the area and narrowed down to this salon. I did my research and looked at every reviews especially the negative ones. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and boy was I wrong! I've done these keratin treatments 3 times before at 2 different salons. Every time, the results came out great! Since those salons were no longer in business, I had to look for a new place. Jane needed a consultation before the treatment so I went in on 5/13. It was a quick 5 min consultation and confirmed that I was doing the regular keratin, made an appt for the week after. She said she prefers cash and the treatment was $380. Went back to get my treatment done on 5/21. As some of the reviews said, she is not the friendly type who would chit-chat with you which I didn't mind. She did answer my questions when I asked. But yes, "with an attitude and general unfriendliness" - quoting one of the reviews. I asked her if I would be getting my hair trimmed, (as I had always got it at different salons when getting these treatment.) She said "your hair is not straight. after this treatment, you need to get a haircut!" I was confused and thought that haircut is included . Then I asked her "will you trim it? " she said "ok, I will give you a haircut after the treatment" So after the treatment, she gave me a haircut which was 15 min at most. Then she said "usually I charged $80 for a haircut, but with treatment. I will charge you $70!" she didn't say anything about the extra cost for the haircut, let alone, $70 extra!!!! She should have said that before giving me a haircut and asked me if it's ok!!! I was not happy about it but i didn't confront her, I let it go and still paid her...cash! The whole thing took a little over 2hrs, not 3.5 hrs as she lied. 2 days after, I washed my hair as told by her with the recommended shampoo! And my hair was still very curly and frizzy! I texted her, and she told me to go back to her salon and get checked by her. I went in the following week and the first thing she said was "So what did you do?" I was shocked. I did nothing. I only did what she told me to do, not wash my hair for 2 days! Then she said "I have done this for 10 yrs and you are my first complaint!" I was like "so do you think this is ok??? " this is not a complaint, it's a problem. She blamed it on the conditioner I used, even though I showed her a pic of my conditioner during the treatment and she did say the conditioner didn't matter. She blamed it on my hair type saying my hair was curly and frizzy. She said some ppl might need to do it 2 times. But if she is so experienced, she should have known during our consultation! I showed her pics of how my hair turned out great after keratin treatment before and she said "other ppl use formaldehyde and I don't " I said the most recent one I got was without formaldehyde and still worked on my hair! At the end, she said she will do it again for me but in 1.5 hr. I confirmed with her that there is no fee cause I didn't want any surprises! In the follow up appointment, she came in late and there were No apologies whatsoever!! I read a review saying how someone was late and she took it seriously! But when she is late, she acts like nothing!! At that point, I know that she does not hold responsible for the things she does wrong, as simple as being late. The treatment was actually only 1 hr, not 1.5 as she lied. When she finished, she said " this is all I can do ". And yes, her attitude has been "doing you the biggest favor in the world even though you are paying her" quoting from one of the reviews. 2 days after the treatment, I washed my hair with the recommended shampoo AND conditioner this time. It's still frizzy, dry-looking and curlier than before. Obviously the treatment didn't work! It's not giving the result that it claimed and definitely not what I wanted. I texted her, she didn't respond, 2 days later, I texted again. Nothing. I then called and realized she BLOCKED me! Yes, just as one of the reviews mentioned, she blocks you when you did nothing wrong! So yes, I got SCAMMED! I hated writing bad reviews. I wanted to support small businesses and was hoping to find a place I can go for my hair. but in return, I lost $450 (treatment plus haircut). I wish I trusted the negative reviews on this business. I am writing all this in hope that no one will get scammed like me!

Due to the short pieces at the top of my head that stick straight up, I've had my hair in a ponytail all day as leaving the house with my hair down would look ridiculous. Unfortunately, I've come to find that even in a ponytail, there are patches of 1 - 2 inch strands that stick straight out of the sides of my head. Since I can't wear my hair up now, I will be wearing hats for the next six months while this grows out. This is beyond upsetting and so embarrassing that even a ponytail can't hide this hack job. I've never experienced anything like this. It looks like my 2 year old took scissors to my hair.

I prefer to keep it long and low maintenance since I don't style it often and wear it natural. I asked for a blunt cut with a little bit of face framing, no layers, and I wanted it to look thicker without adding layers since layers always thin out my hair. Additionally, I specifically wanted an Asian hairstylist who really understood my Filipino hair and I'm so glad I found Aki. She understood exactly what I wanted immediately after telling her and showing her a couple of photos of girls who had the same texture, thickness, and type of hair as I have. I really appreciate that she didn't wash my hair before the haircut. I prefer dry haircuts because it's easier for both the hairstylist and me to see how my hair will look in its natural, every day state since I don't style my hair often and wear it down most of the time. She did a dry haircut and intercutting so I left with the exact haircut I wanted -- low maintenance, trimmed off about three inches, blunt cut with a touch of face framing pieces, and it looks SO much healthier and thicker without adding layers that would have thinned out my hair even more!! It looks so nice in its natural state just the way it is. She really took her time and was very precise. I was out in just under an hour! She is going to injure others by blocking me from putting my experience out there. Worst haircut experience of my life. So traumatic, she insulted me and injured me and refuses to fix it. I had a spinal procedure this year and sitting for hours at a time is hard and she did not give a break once in the 6 hour service. I tried telling Aki multiple times repeatedly that i was in pain that my spine hurt severely but she just ignored me and told me to keep the chair steady. the fact that she cannot understand all clients is a liability. She burned my entire scalp and then doused me in vinegar after pleading for her help telling her if was burning me severely. She doused me a second time at the end again and her husband Nico who was there in the end tried to also articulate to her that I was saying the vinegar hurt badly. Even after understanding Nico she doused me and said "no it won't but Now" even though it certainly did. she injured me and she will injure others. thank god a gentleman walked into the suite towards the end of the service and was able to translate some of what i was saying. at one point she even said "this is why i dont do hair straightening, because these girls get too tired and cant sit" and thank god the guy was there he told her "Aki she is telling you her spine hurts" my neck is in pain from her deciding to use three bottles of product in my hair and formed it into a huge knot. she told me my hair was "too long to wash in her sink" and that she would have to cut through the knot even though the knot was there due to her negligence. i was in tears 4 out of the 6 hours and in terrible pain. all the while she just kept insulting me telling me how she would never ever to hair straightening again and she regretted doing my hair. horrible customer service and down right but not a nice woman whatsoever. i did not know just how cruel she was until i texted her the following day and told her that my entire scalp is scabbed, all of my roots are fried, my ear is burned and that i tried telling her during the appointment i was in pain but she could not understand me. We were able to make some pleasant small talk even with the English-Japanese language barrier, and Hibiki was very attentive to making sure my hair was cut and styled in a flattering way that added volume! (I had let him know I struggled with my hair sitting flat) I would definitely come back!! For anyone looking to book here that doesn't speak Japanese, I would advise you make sure you have clear reference photos of the type of cut you want--preferably from multiple angles.
