This is one of the most abysmal delivery experiences I've ever had and it's not the delivery person's fault or even the app. Krispy Rice ignored my request (that was printed on their receipt attached to my bag!) to not include shellfish in the box I ordered. Great presentation on Grubhub with professional photos of the various combos and items. So I placed an order - $130 for three people. First, let's talk about crispy rice (the food). Every time I've ordered crispy rice from a sushi restaurant, what I got was a chunk of deep fried or baked white rice which becomes like a warm rice cake with a slightly browned crispy exterior. What Krispy Rice serves is a chunk of white rice that is just stiff - as if it's been left out over night. On top of that, the rice isn't even fully cooked. And what they put on top of it can't even be called sushi or fish. It seemed to be some kind of fish paste that was squeezed from a tube. My son couldn't even eat what he got. My daughter's edamame was partially frozen. My $9.50 two pieces of tuna sushi was very tiny and borderline spoiled and was served with rock hard white rice. The fried shrimp was passable. The baked crab rolls were weird. Please, if Krispy Rice is reading this, don't paste in one of your canned "we dropped the ball" responses. I was going to place an $80 order for this restaurant through Uber eats and when I googled the reviews I decided that I should go in person and just try one menu item. When I got to the window I was greeted by what resembled your youngest cousins troublemaker friend who just got out of jail. I decided not to judge a book by its cover and place place a single order for the salmon yuzu crispy sushi, so that I could try it and see if it is truly as bad as the reviews indicate. After about 15 minutes of waiting, I got my order and took it to my car to check it out and noticed that they provided me with a sauce tray but no sauce. More importantly, the salmon had a very obvious odor- in decades of eating sushi at amazing places and sometimes dodgy places, I have never in my life had something this disgusting. Against the judgment of my nose, I decided to try taking at least one bite- immediately My mouth started kicking me in the a$$ for my poor decision. The food tasted remarkably worse than it smelled and I could not do anything other than spit it out immediately and rinse my mouth out with any liquid I was able to find in the car. I called Yelp and GrubHub to say that this place looks good in their advertisements, but there is nothing even remotely close to moderately acceptable about the quality of their food.
