    Whole Chicken Wings
    Jekeia C.

I'm always looking for amazing food options! A fellow Yelper told me about Krispy Krunchy Chicken. And I knew I had to try it! Although a little skeptical at first, I mean, really, extra crispy chicken? But my friend was spot-on! This place has quickly become my go-to for amazing chicken. As you step inside, one side is a liquid store, and the other is where the magic happens, Krispy Krunchy Chicken. It's all about grab-and go here as the setup doesn't allow for a sit-down meal. However, it's very clean on both sides! Keeping the chicken and the cash separate, you pay for your order at the liquor store counter after ordering. The food is amazing! I've had the Whole Wings (my go to), Red Beans and Rice, Jambalaya, and Mashed Potatoes(least favorite). I'm obsessed with the wings as they have crispiness for days, lol they even stayed fresh until I got them home. I'm not a big fan of Red Beans and Rice, but Krispy Krunchy's version is very flavorful. The Jambalaya is my favorite side, it's like a Cajun party in your mouth- it's meaty, flavorful, and addictive! The Honey Butter Biscuit and the Blueberry Biscuits are the prefect pairing with the chicken! They are moist, and full of flavor. Seriously, even if chicken isn't your thing, these biscuits might change your life! If you're ever in the neighborhood or simpler craving good chicken and sides, do yourself a favor and go to Krispy Krunchy Chicken today! Let me know if you enjoy it or not!

So I just had what I think is my tenth Krispy Krunchy chicken experience (the first at this location). I would have reviewed earlier but by the time I get home with this delicious fried chicken I'm too busy devouring it to think to do anything else. I have yet to have a bad experience at this Krispy Krunchy. The food is always fresh and hot. The chicken is flavorful, and crunchy as advertised. The side dishes compliment the chicken well. Most of our orders have been for classic on-the-bone chicken, but their tenders are also very tasty. There's a variety of good dipping sauces which you can use to jazz up your tenders or chicken legs, as you see fit (not that it is needed). Things to know: * This location is a shared space operation, the rest of the storefront being a SG liquor store. * The entrance driveway is also the next door Culver's exit drive. Be careful. * They do not have a drive-thru, though it may appear that way at first glance.

This is so good ! If you plan on ordering a lot call ahead. Keep in mind there is no seating so you come order and take it on the go. Crackling was really good, boudin was interesting, jambalaya could use more flavor. Chicken was amazing , juicy , I wonder if they plump it with water . Give it a try ! If you're looking for the place it's inside the liquor store next to Culver's so it's deceiving.

This is a quick bite place to go! Located in the liquor store off the the right, they made some fresh fried chicken tenders for us since we got a family pack and it was worth it. Super tender, juicy, steamy hot, crispy outer layer (even with the drive back home it stayed crispy), and just the right amount of seasoning. It was listed as Cajun seasoning, but I would say it's more lighter and more of a salt and pepper seasoning, but instead of Cajun, but it was still good! You can actually taste the salt and pepper! Lol the meal comes with biscuits and fries. The fries were soft, crispy outside wedges. Cooked perfectly. We got blueberry biscuits and regular and they were good, but a bit too much in the crumbley side. Not dry though. We also got a side of Mac and cheese, jambalaya, and mashed potatoes. The Mac and cheese was okay, it's tender but the cheese was definitely processed valveeta cheese. The rice was very well seasoned and had bits of sausage with it. So it was spiced well, savory, and meaty. The mashed potatoes is reminiscent of KFC mashed potatoes and gravy. It's smooth, soft, and the gravy was savory. I don't believe it s made of real potatoes and more so flakes. So it was okay, just not homemade from scratch like the chicken. Overall, would definitely come again to get fried chicken!

Well I was a bit skeptical when someone said you must try liquor store fried chicken. But I thought what could I lose if I tried it for lunch on Sunday. Albeit a very unusual pairing liquor store and chicken joint the chicken it totally legit! It was very crispy with a slight spice and the chicken meat is juicy and delicious. The people working there were Uber helpful and kind. They have these honey butter biscuits you must try as well. They are super yummy too! Don't discount this place because it is in an unusual spot because I almost did and it I would have been my loss...

Doesn't look like much. Right next to culvers on 22nd. Culver's has no business to be as busy as they are with this joint right next to them, people must not know about this place but it's literally the best fried chicken in Des Moines / West Des Moines. The guys know how to run this place. 9/10. Sides could be a bigger but can't really complain. 3 drinks and a meal to feed 2 people $30... Unbeatable pricing.

As has been the case on each of our visits, the food and atmosphere were off the charts. The service wasn't quite as prompt this morning as what I've become accustomed to, but the experience was still great. Best of all...I saw that they now have a daily Happy ("Flocktail") Hour everyday before they close - and it is a 50% Off special - so now I can add them to HappyHourDesMoines.com also!! Today, my wife ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and a Bloody Mary (see pictures) - and with all of the new items on the menu, our friend ordered the Smoked Corn Beef Hash (see picture) and I went with the Healthy Hatch Tacos (see picture). I swapped one of my tacos with our friend for 1/2 of his hash, sampled my wife's Chicken Fried Steak - and can assure you that you will NOT go wrong ordering any of them, as all were absolutely delicious!

They kept telling us they were short staffed but that just sounds like excuses. The two waitresses outside were not busy, it was manageable just unorganized. Too bad, it looked promising but when someone has to do your job (asking to buss tables, looking high and low for silverware), that's bad business.

It's a nice, clean, country-esque little space on Jordan Creek Parkway. They have an attractive menu featuring locally sourced meats and other products. I had the salsa Verde pork with eggs, and my wife had the biscuits and gravy. The salsa verde pork and eggs was delicious. The pork was tender, had a wonderful flavor with hints of tomatillo and lime with a lot of green chili and tomatillo salsa over the top of nicely cooked homemade fried potatoes. My two eggs over medium were on top with pico de gallo. My only knock would've been my eggs were more over done than over medium, but we're splitting hairs at that point. My wife's biscuit and gravy featured a lovely fluffy biscuit with an ample helping of sausage gravy with eggs and some of the same nice fried potatoes. I had a coffee which was fine. My wife had a specialty coffee called the Honeybee which she said was delicious. The servers were polite and attentive, and everything came out in a very reasonable timeframe. The host worked to get everyone seated as quickly as he could. A server was at the table almost immediately for our drink order, and they were served in no time. There is quite a selection of breakfast and lunch items to choose from, and I settled on The Classic. I really liked the option for a small cake instead of toast, and I enjoyed that tremendously! The ham steak was thick, juicy, and flavorful, and the eggs were scrambled perfectly. The hash browns were a little bland, and I would rather have had an option for breakfast potatoes instead. But the meal was good and reasonably priced for the portions. For those who like coffee, there is a wide selection of options. The place is cozy inside with warm colors and all of the workers were extremely friendly in their interactions with customer. I felt very welcome and the table was well taken care of throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is nestled in a strip mall off the main street, so it isn't something I would know was there if I were just driving by. But now that I know it is here, I will definitely make a return trip to try additional items on the menu that caught my attention (I'm looking at you apple and blueberry bread, cinnamon rolls, and crake!)

We were greeted and asked if we were dining in (it appears they do a brisk takeout business) and were told to sit where we wanted. It was surprisingly crowded for a Sunday afternoon at 4 pm. The menu is extensive and hubby and I both like Mediterranean food. I chose the Falafel plate, served with five falafel balls, hummus, a pita, and Greek salad. The portion was generous (ended up taking two falafel home). Served with tahini and their house green sauce (olive oil, cilantro, and jalapeño) It wasn't spicy but it was so delicious - I could get addicted to this thinking of all the other ways so could enjoy it!! The Greek salad was served with house dressing - garlic and yogurt, also very good. The falafel was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, and flavorful. The hummus was not at all grainy - smooth but just a tad bland. Hubby had the lamb skewers and liked them very much. Served with rice, salad, and hummus. He also took one of the skewers home. We both had the mango Fresca juice. A bit too sweet for me but I generally drink unsweetened beverages. Hubby liked it a lot. Service was friendly and we were checked on twice to ask how we liked our food.
