Fried chicken Well done bun Mashed potatoes instant Canned gravy
    Susan S.

Chicken was tasty nice and crunchy . Seasoned pretty good. Mashed potato was instant with a gravy that may have came out of a can. The honey biscuit was black on one side . The lighter part was not very good rather dry and void of honey. So this has been on my bookmarks for several years. I thought it was unusual that are fried chicken place with me at a gas station but at that time it had really great reviews so my brother and I was looking to eat something yummy so he suggested we come here so we came super hot they came in no air-conditioning kind of dirty and campus area to eat and the door was open I guess for ventilation and he could smell gasoline and hear the hot Rod cars revving up their engines in the motorcycle. Probably would not be high on my listTo come here anytime soon

    The price we were charged.

I don't know what happened to this place. We've ordered before with no problems but this time was a fiasco. Their online ordering wasn't working so we phoned it in and were told 20 minutes. We showed up a little late and he said it would be 10 more minutes. Then I went back to the window and they hadn't even started part of our order. When they finally packed our order almost an hour after we first called, the price for the chicken was almost double what was listed on their website. Now I know why he wouldn't let me pay for it when I first got there. And they still didn't get our order right after confirming multiple times.

Updating my review of the gas station delivery service. Placed my order through Yelp Eat24 because it was rush hour and I was not feeling the drive over to Peterson at 6 pm. Got an immediate response as to the time that it would be delivered. Order actually got there 20 mins before it was supposed to. What made this delivery so extra special for me was my delivery guy Ahm sent me the nicest text message to let me know he was on his way and a follow up one to let me know he was 3 minutes out. And once he got to my place, he was so lovely and happy. Not sure if you can request a delivery guy on Yelp Eat24, but Ahm is the man! I want him to deliver all my food from Yelp Eat24.

Good chicken. Juicy and tastes good. I just prefer more flavor and wish they had some flavored chicken. Nonetheless I used some spicy maple bourbon pickle juice to flavor my chicken. It was a great idea and tastes even better. I love flavor and thus KFC's Georgia Gold chicken is still my favorite

I'm currently a resident of Columbia, SC so i was surprised to see Krispy Krunchy in Chicago and have been wanting to try it passing the many gas stations down south but low and behold there it is, here in Chicago. So I ordered a good bit of food. 4 pc Chicken tender with mashed potatoes and gravy and red beans and rice. The chicken was great. Krunchy as promised, well seasoned and moist on the inside. The mashed potatoes and gravy tasted like KFC's which I didn't mind and the red beans and rice tasted ok. Only reason I say that is because the ration of rice to bean was like 5:1 totally off, barely could get a taste like I would've liked. And finally, their honey biscuits were soft, moist, and sweet. It seems as if though KKC is a mashup of all the various chicken chain restaurants. From Church's to Popeyes to KFC to Zaxby's/Raising Canes. They did have a sauce that tasted like Zax sauce. I'll be going back

I can say the dark meat fried chicken and fried wings are better than most spots in Chicago. Don't get it delivered though... it takes forever and can arrive soggy. If you have a long commute, open up the box / bag of chicken so it doesn't get…

The screen was filthy (they just opened as a reminder) we couldn't tell what was in the 'combo' and then when we were going to order the boneless chicken wings, as they were gluten free when we ordered them years ago, I asked one of the women in the kitchen to confirm. She said no, I don't think so. And walked away without any further guidance for what I might be able to eat on their menu. It's not a preference, it's a dietary restriction - so we walked out from there. They clearly had no interest in helping me or our business. A real disappointment after driving 30 minutes out of our way to try and enjoy it.

I ordered one to go and demolished it later that night, like usual. I did sit in and have a few beers and bites. Somehow I've been sleeping on the onion rings and wings this whole time. Listen, listen, listen, Linda, the onion rings; Do Not Change Them!!! Don't you dare switch to those battered, frozen, chain-restaurant rings of bull-s. These are the good rings. Now, the wangzzzz. I'm not going to pretend these are the absolute best wings in the entire city, but they are absolutely in the "I will randomly crave these on a Tuesday" category. The meat could use a little marinade situation to bring more flavor inside, but that crispy coating holds up to the sauce like a champ. I like it, I like it, I like it. Extra points for a buffalo sauce that actually has some thickness to it and isn't just "here's some hot sauce, on a wing being called buffalo sauce. Now, I am going to need to try some of the other wing sauces, but if they hold up too. I would rather come here than go to some other well known wing spots. Honestly, I can see myself rolling through just for wings, rings, and vibes. And that Golden Monkey beer? Yeah, go ahead and keep that on tap forever. Please and thank you. haha

My son and his girlfriend have been there many times, and insisted we get the whipped ricotta appetizer and kale salad. Both of these items were top notch, as were the cocktails and we enjoyed. The pasta bolognese that the ladies ordered was delicious. My son had the burger and fries, and it was fine, just not very special. I ordered the "half" chicken, thinking as a bird themed restaurant, the only poultry entree would be a star, but that was not the case. A small thigh and half of a breast was their interpretation of a half chicken, and this was noted on the menu, but the portion was disappointing. The dish was supposed to to be accompanied by polenta with trumpet mushrooms, but two paltry slices of mushroom with a small smear of polenta completed the dish which "artfully" only occupied the left half of the plate, leaving the rest of the plate bare. Small portions aside, the dish was overly salty, to the point I had dry mouth the rest of the night, and the chicken was overcooked. The taste was fine, and the little bit of polenta added enough moisture to make the dish work. The worst thing was the incredibly dull dinner knife that couldn't cut through the mushroom, let alone the chicken, causing me to apply the stab and pull/tear method to get bite sized pieces. Everything thing else was superb. I would go back for the cocktails and appetizers, perhaps grazing the appetizers and a salad as a dinner. The pastas all looked terrific, but I will probably steer clear of the four mains on the menu, as they seem to be the least inspired items to order.

I'm not halal myself, but I appreciate supporting diverse dining options. Ordering online was easy though pricy--my four buffalo wings with ranch were ready in 15 minutes and were just over $12 (before tip). Pickup was simple, the staff were friendly, and I even got a bonus fifth wing. There were a few tables inside, but I chose takeout. The wings were jumbo and meaty, but the heavy breading and sauciness made them soggy rather than crispy--just not my preference. If you like thick, saucy breading, you might enjoy them. The first time I placed a takeout order, I unfortunately got sick afterward. The owner reached out and genuinely wanted to make things right, which I appreciated. That's why I decided to give them another chance on my own time and dime and order the same exact meal--I believe a business should be judged by how it handles situations, not just by one-off issues, which can happen anywhere. This time, I didn't get sick! While the wings weren't my style, Cluck'n Wings has friendly service, easy ordering, and fills a niche. If you're looking for halal wings with a saucier, breaded style, it's worth a try.
