Do NOT order from their old website http:// orderkrispykrunchychicken dot com or your order will never reach them and you'll need to dispute the charges with your credit card company. I saw the price on this old website was similar to pre-pandemic prices and it seemed to be too good to be true and almost half the price of DoorDash so I called them to confirm and they said please don't use the website and either order directly with them and pay over the phone or use DoorDash or Uber Eats. Anyhoo... onto the lightly spicy fried chicken and honey butter biscuits. I catered 50 pieces dark meat and 30 biscuits and they were hit and still as delicious as I've ever had them, crispy, flavorful... all for $113. Only complaint is they said my order would take 25 min and it took close to 40 min. They've always underestimated the time it took to make my larger order fresh fried, but I learned to adjust my expectations and plan for delays when I order from them. read more

Used to be have Cajun seasoned chicken but they changed the seasonings and the flavor is not the same. Super disappointed

This "star" review is purely based upon the chicken quality. It was some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. It had a nice crispy crust but it wasn't too thick. The spice was complex and interesting with a little bit of heat but not too much. The size of the pieces was very good. I've always been a Popeye's fan but this chicken may just be better! The red beans and rice were very nice too. I'll definitely eat their chicken again. read more

Omg bro, you need to try the commando fries, it's fire bro. Just try it one time, like you won't regret it. it ate up soo hard, Your money is soo worth it read more

Chicken was tasty nice and crunchy . Seasoned pretty good. Mashed potato was instant with a gravy that may have came out of a can. The honey biscuit was black on one side . The lighter part was not very good rather dry and void of honey. So this has been on my bookmarks for several years. I thought it was unusual that are fried chicken place with me at a gas station but at that time it had really great reviews so my brother and I was looking to eat something yummy so he suggested we come here so we came super hot they came in no air-conditioning kind of dirty and campus area to eat and the door was open I guess for ventilation and he could smell gasoline and hear the hot Rod cars revving up their engines in the motorcycle. Probably would not be high on my listTo come here anytime soon read more

People was friendly but pleaaaaase don't come with horrible service and lack of knowledge about cooking food. Went to the Bellwood location with my brother 8-26-25. Food was horrible. Biscuits was undercooked tasted like dough. The chicken was a bit too hard, but my really ticked me off. They were very the mac & cheese had the red beans and rice. They were so cold might have sounded like a great business idea for them, but they have to learn to really know how to satisfy customers no one likes food. read more

Don't make the same mistake I did and avoid Krispy Krunchy because it's attached to a gas station. It is extremely underrated, a good value, and consistently delivers for us. We usually get the tenders and I will say while it lacks some of the robust seasoning that other chain chicken restaurants might have, the chicken you get is thick and usually very tasty. We always order right when we get there which is helpful because usually they're dropping fresh stuff for us. Their biscuits are also honey biscuits and cannot be passed up! I'd say if you're ever in a situation where you just have to choose one item, get the biscuits because they are delicious. Fries are also pretty thick and nicely crisped! read more

Always wanted to try this place because I heard it was good. Their hours are whatever they feel like, not accurate on the sign or online. Tried 3 days in a row and finally got a 2 piece order with biscuit and it was gross. Everything was too dry and salty. read more

It was better than it looked, but it was only ok. First of all, this place looks incredibly dirty. I know it's in a gas station, but it looks pretty worrisome. We checked out the website to know what to order. We found out that one item was out that we wanted and one wasn't even on the menu. It also took 20 minutes to get the food, but I guess that means the food was fresh. As for the chicken, it was actually pretty good. It was a little on the salty side, but still juicy and crunchy. I also liked that it wasn't spicy. The biscuit was good, but would have been better if it wasn't half burnt. Not sure if I would come back here, but if I needed something good and was at this gas station, I might stop by! read more

Been here a couple times before, chicken has always been hot and fresh. Great spot to stop in for a bite on the way home for sure

The chicken was I thought, better than Popeye's. I didn't like the biscuit so much. The mashed potatoes had so much gravy it was like soup. I tried to order beans and rice, but on Grubhub I couldn't do that. When I added a second side the first one went away. In the special instructions I said to add beans and rice, that didn't happen. So, i enjoyed the chicken but nothing else. The delivery was exactly on time and the price was OK, so that was good. I doubt if I'll order from here again. read more

Updating my review of the gas station delivery service. Placed my order through Yelp Eat24 because it was rush hour and I was not feeling the drive over to Peterson at 6 pm. Got an immediate response as to the time that it would be delivered. Order actually got there 20 mins before it was supposed to. What made this delivery so extra special for me was my delivery guy Ahm sent me the nicest text message to let me know he was on his way and a follow up one to let me know he was 3 minutes out. And once he got to my place, he was so lovely and happy. Not sure if you can request a delivery guy on Yelp Eat24, but Ahm is the man! I want him to deliver all my food from Yelp Eat24. read more

I don't know what happened to this place. We've ordered before with no problems but this time was a fiasco. Their online ordering wasn't working so we phoned it in and were told 20 minutes. We showed up a little late and he said it would be 10 more minutes. Then I went back to the window and they hadn't even started part of our order. When they finally packed our order almost an hour after we first called, the price for the chicken was almost double what was listed on their website. Now I know why he wouldn't let me pay for it when I first got there. And they still didn't get our order right after confirming multiple times. read more

Good chicken. Juicy and tastes good. I just prefer more flavor and wish they had some flavored chicken. Nonetheless I used some spicy maple bourbon pickle juice to flavor my chicken. It was a great idea and tastes even better. I love flavor and thus KFC's Georgia Gold chicken is still my favorite read more

I would've given this a little bit lower from my last couple of experiences there but I've had such a good history previously that I'm going to give it three stars. I've been going to this location of this franchise for years and we've always been very satisfied. However the last couple of times we've been there this place is really sliding downhill. Besides the fact that it's consistently dirty, the soda machine advertises "no ice, no cups, just soda", but the food itself is now suffering. I went to ask for a mixed box of all the pieces and the guy told me "no white meat". He didn't really bother to explain why I was confused so he ended up explaining the fact that they no longer carry white meat only dark meat. But they do have chicken tenders which are made of white meat which makes it even more confusing. He didn't say the route, he said that they just don't carry white meat anymore. so I got an order of chicken tenders and he said he would substitute out the lack of white meat with dark meat. That said, I was not made aware that he wasn't going to give me any wings. So I came home with legs and thighs which I don't like either. And make it worse, he charged me for a regular chicken with white meat instead of charging me the discounted dark meat combo, and he did it on purpose. So on top of all that I had to buy an extra chicken tenders just to get some white meat so my bill was probably double what it should've been. It really does break my heart because this was at one point the best fast fried chicken in the area even if it's in the gas station, but we won't be going back. Hope someone lets me know if things change otherwise we'll be on the lookout for something new. read more

I'm currently a resident of Columbia, SC so i was surprised to see Krispy Krunchy in Chicago and have been wanting to try it passing the many gas stations down south but low and behold there it is, here in Chicago. So I ordered a good bit of food. 4 pc Chicken tender with mashed potatoes and gravy and red beans and rice. The chicken was great. Krunchy as promised, well seasoned and moist on the inside. The mashed potatoes and gravy tasted like KFC's which I didn't mind and the red beans and rice tasted ok. Only reason I say that is because the ration of rice to bean was like 5:1 totally off, barely could get a taste like I would've liked. And finally, their honey biscuits were soft, moist, and sweet. It seems as if though KKC is a mashup of all the various chicken chain restaurants. From Church's to Popeyes to KFC to Zaxby's/Raising Canes. They did have a sauce that tasted like Zax sauce. I'll be going back read more

I went to the location in Hinsdale because at other locations I remember it being top tier! Just the right amount of seasoning & crunch . However , the chicken here was extremely salty as well as the jambalaya. Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy it . I did rate it a 3 but would've higher just off of the employees ! They deserve a 5 star because they are awesome , helpful, and u can tell they build a rapport with customers . As for me , I think my Krispy Krunchy chicken days are over . read more

03/31/17 - There are 2 Krispy Krunchy chicken places that I know of. One is @ 5800 W Irving Park in Bub's and the second one (the one I ate at today is @ 1840 W Peterson inside the Citco Gas station. Then one I ate at today fries their chicken in advance and keeps it warm under heat lamps. The prices are incredibly reasonable $4.99 for 3 pieces of white chicken, 2 wings & a breast. The skin is still flavorful and crispy, but the chicken is a little dry, especially the breast. The other Krispy Krunchy chicken @ 5800 W Irving Park Avenue makes their chicken to order so you are getting something that is piping hot and juicy. NO contest, hands down the better of the 2 places read more

I kinda want to give it 2 stars but I'll go with 3. I ordered the $7.99 deal of all dark meat 8 pc chicken. Along with some Mash potato, biscuits, Cole slaw and LARGE fries. I added a picture of the "large" fries. If that's a large, I'd hate to see what a small looks like....i was disappointed in that size I received but idk if that's how it normally comes because I seriously thought someone ate my fries... I didn't call to talk about my issue cause it's pointless. Anyway, the chicken was definitely good and biscuits were good but not great. Everything else was eh ok. Decent prices. Idk if I'll be back. read more

I discovered this place when I used to live in the neighborhood as they have really good chicken. I since moved but kept coming here for 4 years and never had any issues with my order until today when I ordered 4 tenders and instead got 1 drumsticks, 1 breading 1/2 tender and 1 full size tender. I don't know am I more upset that I drove 20 minutes home to discover this or the fact that I was treated like stupid when I came back to return what they gave me. The full figure girl who btw I see first time working here laughed at me and said "so what you came for 1 tender" I showed her picture and she said "that's what tenders are" lol. Well you definitely lost me as a customer and I sure won't be recommending them to anyone. read more

I shouldn't be eating this... but forget about the over hyped fried chicken in the city! This place might be located next to a gas station and not have any IG appeal, but they have some chicken and the best biscuits around. They currently I have a $3 deal of 2 pieces of fried chicken and a honey biscuit. Also, order multiple of these honey biscuits as they are 65 cents each. These soft biscuits are overly coated with sweet honey that melt in your mouth as those salivary glands wake up. You shouldn't be eating here too much... but it is some delicious food on the cheap! 7/10 read more

We made a large catering order for a Fourth of July party through their online ordering system on their website. We received an emailed receipt and our credit card was charged. My husband went to pick it up at the designated time and the employee there said they never got the order and refused to even speak to my husband about it. The cashier was so extremely rude and unprofessional it left my husband speechless. Lied and said they were closing so he couldn't fulfill the order, now we have to dispute with our credit card. Now we have no food for our party. I would avoid going here for anything. Garbage business. read more

"Cawk a, Cawk a, ah" "Cheecka Cheeecka cheeeecka" "Coodle Doodle do" If Arrested Development taught us anything it that chicken comes myriad ways. At least ten phrases and dances suffice. But the best way to get served chicken is when it's Krispy Krunchy. This restaurant is located in a gas station. That doesn't bother me, it's very common in rural areas and just prudent. Many people on trips or a time crunch will want to fill up their tank and grab some food. It's not a sit down restaurant so why rent out a stand alone dwelling? If there's empty or under utilized space be economical and environmental and use it for something. Everything is served fresh, so there's a 15-20 minute wait. We had my dog with me and pooched around until the order was ready. We ordered the family combo which had fried chicken, Cajun chicken tenders, fries, and honey butter biscuits. The tenders and chicken lived up to the business name. The coating was crunchy, crispy, but not dry. Flavorful and zesty but not over seasoned or too salty. The meat itself was fine. Texture had give and tenderness. The biscuits were just the right side of buttery. If you like chicken that will get you dancing give this quaint spot a shot. read more

More like 3.5 but the chicken was worth 5 stars alone. I cannot believe I'm typing this but the best fired chicken I've had in Chicago is served inside of a damn gas station. To. Die. For. I don't know what they put in their chicken but it's amazing, so tender and juicy. I just couldn't believe it. Chicago, the food mecca. Gas station chicken. It just works. They also have random food like gyros and hotdogs. So whhhhy 4 stars for the best chicken? Their mashed potatoes were just awful and the gravy was worse. Don't order it, you're welcome. I'm pretty sure most of the "potatoes" consisted of that powdered crap and they use a flavorless turkey gravy. The jambalaya, red beans & rice along with the deep fried corn were really tasty. Deep fried corn is very county fair like and the biscuits are pretty small. With regard to parking, I don't know why anyone would park two blocks away in front of the cemetery when you can literally pull to the front door. In any event, this place is hella cheap and you really should try it. They even deliver! read more

Who knew?? As others have noted, the gas-station location does not seem to hold them back. This joint is pretty solid for their prices. They will now assume the responsibility of supplying my very occasional after-work fried chicken indulgence, since Harold's in Rogers Park has closed. The chicken is under-seasoned, but otherwise pretty good. They offer fast, friendly service too. At Harold's you would have to wait fifteen to twenty minutes and put up with indifference bordering on rudeness from the staff. Stick with chicken though, because the sides range from mediocre to downright bad. read more

Krispy Krunchy Chicken is inside of a Citgo Gas Station. It does not have parking unless you count the space along the fence leading up to their car wash. I found street parking two blocks away in the residential neighborhood surrounding it on three sides. The fourth side (and front of the gas station) faces a cemetery. The interior of the Citgo is divided into two sections. Most of it is a typical gas station convenience store. The rest of it is Krispy Krunchy Chicken. The KKC part is decorated with loud wallpaper and a flat screen television, all blasting you with their own advertisements. There are two small tables each with a pair of chairs. Although the counter is crowded with a warming display case with radiant fried foods, the cashier informed us that our orders would be made fresh and would take 20 minutes. I got the 8 piece chicken (dark), three biscuits, and two stuffed peppers (jalapeno poppers) for $10.77. We stood outside for about half of our wait during which time I think the gas fumes got to me. I felt nauseous and nearly lost my appetite. Daniel C was much more acuminous and found a nearby park for us to sit and eat, free of gas station ambiance. We both enjoyed our food. True to it's name, the chicken was crunchy! In fact, I think that everything we ordered was crunchy including (and most surprisingly) the biscuits. The biscuits were exceptional. The outside had a delicious crust and the inside was nice and soft and exploded with piquant honey butter. Besides that, the rest of the food was ordinary. The agreeable crispy texture aside, the remaining characteristics were comparable to any other fast food chicken place. read more

Very disappointed to be writing this. This is our third and final strike for this restaurant. It's been months since the last time we ordered and we were hesitant to try again. This time we ordered through GrubHub and waited 90 minutes before calling the restaurant. Sadly, same thing happened as two previous orders - no answer. We called GrubHub and asked them to try to reach the restaurant and find out our order status. After trying to reach the restaurant numerous times through whatever back-channel methods they have, GrubHub offered to cancel the order, refund the price and incentivize us with a future discount. This place used to be great then something happened about 18 months ago and now it's very unpredictable. We used to love the food but it's not worth the hassle to actually get some. read more

If you are looking for Crispy, Crunchy, hence the name then you've found your spot! It's no popeyes meaning cajun spices! This chicken spot is located at ahem a gas station. Not the most appealing place to pick up chicken but I was told this was a preference over Popeyes. What? Now as far as customer service this place shines over any Popeyes locations I've ever been to. I also did like that the biscuits were pre- honeyed. I ordered a wing box of 12 dropped fresh, I would request it if you have time to wait! The chicken came out extra crunchy (think Browns),and a 3 tenders with fries. I can't say anything for their sides as I only ordered fries which were also dropped fresh and hot!
