So it was my birthday... Krispy Kreme is free birthday doughnuts. We were driving back up from Miami and I knew we would pass a Krispy Kreme in Deerfield. We don't have one in West Palm Beach as all my foodie friends very well now. I couldn't sign up for the app successfully so I thought I would be disappointed and I wouldn't get my free birthday doughnut. I know we could've bought them, but it was all about the magic of a free donut on my birthday from my favorite donut place. In my opinion, nothing compares to a hot fresh Krispy Kreme doughnut. I basically hate all other donuts. They're always so subpar except a couple of Mom and pop shops that have left an impression on my heart over the years. My experience here was so-so. We were staying in a hotel nearby and I was excited to see that they had the hot sign on at several points throughout the day. The first time I visited (around 10pm) they said that their coffee machine was off for cleaning... The next I stopped by was because their hot sign was on. I grabbed two glazed donuts and their specialty "caramel vanilla" iced latte. I ordered it with oat milk and it was just okay. Hadn't been here in years. I had a fundraiser certificate from 2018 and wanted to see if they'd still accept it. They did. I was happy because a dozen glazed donuts are about 17 bucks now. This location is a mess! short staffed and very slow. The drive through line was very long! so I decided to go inside the store. I was told by a very disappointed customer that the doors were closed! I was shocked that at 6:00 pm they had closed the doors to the store. It was a task to join the line, but I did eventually. We sat in that line for almost 20 mins. I got to ordering and the drive through lady told us they are not serving any drinks only donuts. To make matters worst she was in such a haste to take my order. So disappointing! I came to try the Elf Specialty Dozen for the holidays. It's a box filled with Buddy Snow Globe Doughnut, Buddy Makes Breakfast Doughnut, Christmas Lights Doughnut, Santa Belly Doughnut and the Chocolate Iced with Christmas Sprinkles. Just a heads up that you aren't able to edit the box and you'll get 3 Glazed and 3 Santa baby and 2 of the other flavors. There are so cool and decorated so nicely. My fave was the Santa Belly filled with cookies & kreme. These are perfect for the kids, family or a holiday party at work. They were very busy as I got there at 9:15am, a lot of people were waiting around after placing their orders so I would suggest ordering ahead online for in store pickup. I used this location for the first time because of a horrible experience I had at the Fort Lauderdale location. I use Krispy Kreme often for fundraisers and it was time, once again, to fundraise! I submitted the fundraiser request for this location online and had a response from them with a few hours! I was shocked at how fast it was. The great experience didn't end there. When I picked up the order it was all ready and the team members even helped me bring it out to my car. Truly I was shocked because the last place didn't even let me in the door. I grew up on Krispy Kreme and they are still my favorite donut. I was heading to a meeting this evening and I thought a dozen original glazed and a box of coffee would be a nice surprise. I knew I'd be cutting it close because the donut shop is not on the way, but I downloaded the app and was able to place my order. This lost them their first star. I don't drink coffee. I drink tea. They don't have tea; only coffee. Tea bags do not take up much room and every coffee maker dispenses hot water. Think about all of your customers, not just the coffee drinkers. Still, I was getting fresh, hot glazed donuts so it will be fine. When I got there she hadn't poured the coffee yet because she didn't want it to get cold. It only took a few minutes and I was on my way. I made it to the meeting in nine minutes, so everything was great. Except that the donuts were cold and not fresh. Great location! It is smaller than some, and the parking lot/drive through is a bit awkward at times. It is tucked away in a large plaza, on the Commercial Blvd side near the Turnpike. The donuts are good, and great when hot. I ordered a mixed dozen and a hot coffee. They have donut specials so check out the options. The coffee was if a decent strength and flavor. The service was a bit of an issue on the morning of Sept. 8th, and I considered giving 3 stars, but the young woman working the register was amazing and hustlin! She was solo, ringing up orders, making donuts, pouring coffee ... She finally had to go ask for help from the employees in the back office, who seemed a bit reluctant to help despite the growing line. You guessed it right, we ordered the full dozen. If you go with your family two dozen is the best deal for $15 you get two dozen. Whenever we go, we usually order thru drive thru. But this past visit we went inside the store. 2-3 employees and they were all smiles and professional in assisting while we decided. The amazing smell of fresh hot donuts would make anyone smile and sugar high. They do have assortment of other flavors but those are not hot, but a good amount of flavors if you are interested. They taste like heaven clouds if I knew how they tasted like, I'm sure they would be something like Krispy Kreme donuts. How I love a warm Krispy Kreme. if you are going to pay the calories at least make it worth it by eating a warm Krispy Kreme. When I was in school on Friday one of the teachers had brought in the original glazed donuts for her students but they were green and they were so cute. She pretended the leprechaun dropped them off for her students while they were at lunch. After dinner at Laspadas my daughter and I were in the mood for something sweet and I wanted to get some of the donuts for St. Patricks day. The nearest Krispy Kreme to us was the one on Commercial by the turnpike. Even though it was a 20 minute drive we headed on over. When we arrived the hot dounut light was on. When we went in I didn't see the green original glazed and asked the girl working at the counter for them to which she replied they didn't have them. I showed here the picture on the outside of the display of them and she again asserted that they did not have them. I was sorely disappointed but went with a couple of the chocolate iced donuts with the green sprinkles. My daughter asked if we could get the hot glazed for the rest of the box. The girl looked really put out that we wanted hot donuts. When we asked for them hot she tried to act like it wasn't something they did. When we insisted she finally agreed. Then she came back and said we could have the green ones hot if we wanted. What? A minute ago she didn't have the green ones. I looked towards the back and there was an entire tub of the green glazed donuts ready to go. 5 minutes later we had the hot green glazed donuts which were what we came for. So their milk is just out in the open, so when I opened it to drink it was lukewarm (which isn't safe to drink). I asked for a replacement and the nice woman at the counter gave it to me, but the manager came screaming at me two minutes later that I opened it and next time I can't open it.
