Hurts Donut Company was founded in 2013 in Springfield, Missouri, by Kas and Tim Clegg, who started with less than $7 in the bank, Craigslist equipment, and recipes they found on YouTube. They made their very first donut just 12 hours before opening! The name comes from a playful prank: you ask someone if they want a "Hurts donut," punch them in the arm, and say, "Hurts, don't it?" Today, Hurts Donut is known for 24/7 service, unconventional topping combinations, pop culture references, and whimsical branding. The small shop quickly grew into a national franchise with 19 locations. The Plantation Walk location is the first Hurts Donut in Florida, and it's absolutely charming inside. Candy-colored tables and chairs, bright murals, and even swings to sit on make it a fun spot to enjoy your treat. Donut flavors are playful and creative, including Chewbacca with coconut cream, Key Lime Pie, Cinnamon Roll, Maple Bacon, Andes Mint, Slim Shady, Moose Munch, Little Timmy, German Chocolate, Chocolate Birthday, Book Worm, and more. I tried a red velvet donut, and it was fresh and delicious. If you're visiting Plantation Walk, this is the perfect place to stop for a sweet, whimsical treat.

I stopped in here on my way to another place. I decided to grab two donuts, the blueberry streusel, and a chocolate frosted doughnut with sprinkles. The blueberry streusel was amazing. I would say a must have. I do want to go back and try other donuts. I wanted a plain chocolate frosted doughnut, but they only had sprinkles on almost everything. I really hope they get some without sprinkles in the future.

This is a very fun donut shop. It event has swings inside. The decor is super bright and colorful. I had the birthday cake chocolate donut. It was gluten and dairy free. It was tasty. They have yeast and cake donuts. They also serve ice cream. There are many tables inside to enjoy your treat. Parking is easy in the garage and it's free.

After quite some time waiting, Hurts donuts finally opened up not too long ago! Happy to see it finally here! I have visited this location quite a few times at this point and have been satisfied every time! They're open 24/7 so if you happen to have a late night donut craving, you're in luck. There's a vast selection to choose from and by the size of these donuts, it may take some time to get around to trying them all! My favorite one to order here is the Dirt Worm, so rich in chocolate and the crushed oreos topped with a gummy worm brings me back to making those dirt cup desserts as a kid! However, many other donuts here are just as delicious such as the Red Velvet one. You're bound to find one you love. The staff here are quick and friendly and get the line moving even when it's busy inside. Speaking of which, inside offers some fun stylized decor with plenty of open seats and tables (inside and outside). Glad to see this business doing well in our community!

Such a good variety of donuts. It's nice to have a spot open all day and night for a sweet treat. I have been a handful of times and they are always well stocked and making fresh donuts. They have coffee options as well, which is a perfect pairing. My favorites so far are the strusel, brownie, Boston (bavarian) cream and Jesus. All so different and so tasty. The decor is fun and definitely an eye catcher. You will go in for a donut, and end up leaving with half a dozen with all of the options they give. Keeps you wanting to come back for more.

FANCY DONUTS... After a two year wait for this gourmet donut shop to open it is finally here. Hit this shop during it's grand opening week and was excited. Lets begin with the odd name for the business "Hurts Donut". Instantly I think of damaged donuts with a bandaid over the donut as the logo. Then the name in white affixed against a light beige exterior wall - horrible marketing scheme and hard to see from University Drive. Although, the outside wall depicting numerous colorful donuts alert passerbys inside Plantation Walk that this was strictly a donut shop. The inside was cutesy bubble gum theme. The flooring was hot pink and the multi color details were a nice touch. The bakers were behind the donut display counter in plain view of customers frosting and decorating fresh trays of donuts. The smell of baked dough is amazing. Trying to avoid the kids running around the store, I ordered an original huge glazed donut for $2.00 which I thought was a great deal. Most of the specialty donuts were cute in appearance, but not as large as the glazed. Loved the moist texture and sweet taste. A little messy so grab napkins. They offered a decent variety of donuts ranging up to $8.00. The type of donuts reminded me of Mojo Donuts in Pines but this place is open 24 hours. The bathroom was clean and actually an experience in itself. Someone really took their time decorating with space age meets farm meets donut theme (see pic). Definitely, this shop is kid friendly. For donut haters they also offer a few flavors of ice cream. Two small tables are on the outside front patio to eat your donuts and escape the noise inside. Anyways, not too sure why this shop took so long to open but I have been here twice this week.

If you want to step into a different time and place, then please go to Hurts Donut! The establishment is absolutely beautiful. We visited for the first time during an event at plantation walk. Hurt Donut was clean and smelled good. The decor is absolutely amazing. Aside from the swings that you can actually sit on, the floor is pink with glitter, there are gummy bears, hanging from the ceiling, and you can see many beautiful donuts in the display case. Please make sure to check out the bathrooms. They have surprises in there as well. We ordered a Cookie Monster doughnut and a Oreo cheesecake doughnut. My children were very pleased.

I, like soooo many others have been patiently (well maybe not so patiently) waiting for Hurts Donut to open at Plantation Walk in Plantation. They had all sorts of fun contests on their FB page leading up to their opening and it was a grand opening indeed! The place is super clean and the staff was really nice and helpful. The hardest thing here is deciding what donut or donuts to choose. They have many flavors such as blueberry streusel, s'mores, key lime, Cookie Monster, Flintstone, and Jesus (cinnamon, caramel and toasted marshmallows) and my favorite, Bavarian Crème. I got a Bavarian Crème and my husband got the Key Lime. We both really liked our donuts and the best part was that they weren't overly sweet. They are big so I only ate half and am looking forward to eating the order half tomorrow. It was well worth the wait and am so glad they finally opened!

If you're looking for a donut shop to hit your craving any time of the day this is your place. Open 24 hours was a smart marketing especially in this area with the hotel and apartments in the area. Ambiance was bright and cheery. The floor was a bright pink and glittery. Kids must love walking in here. Let's talk about the assortment of donuts. They all look great. So hard to make a decision. Tried a taste of my friends which was moist and fresh. Not sure about the name Hurts Donut but will be back to try my own.

So glad this place has finally opened and I'm so excited that it's as great as I was expecting! The place is decked out and even the bathroom for those of us that like to look in there! The alien art is out of this world! (pun intended) They have some awesome swing seats that are fun to sit on and good for posting online! Everyone here was in such high spirits because of the grand opening! To say that they have a huge amount of donut choices is an understatement. I could've been here for an hour looking and trying to decide what to get! I decided to grab a few and let me say they were the freshest and most flavorful donuts in the area! They also have bars and these cinnamon rolls that I'm going to get next time! Great prices, exceptional service and right near my place, I'll be coming back here way too often!

I finally got a chance to swing by this donut place. It was rainy and early Sunday so not crowded, it's a cute colorful ambiance. They ample selection of donuts, we chose to try the boston cream & coconut cream. I told my husband only pick 2 to take home but honestly when he left me half of each I regretted it. These were delicious, not too doughy , sweet & filled to the brim with cream. We cant wait to try other flavors and share them. I love that they are open 24/7 . Its truly a hidden gem.

My family and I decided to check the place out for the first time and were more than happy with the decision. We were greeted by smiling employees as soon as we entered....huge plus! The inside is absolutely beautiful, vibrant, and colorful. The perfect ambiance for a donut shop! We were not expecting SO many options! So, it did take us a while to order. The employees understood and we didn't feel rushed. Here's what we ordered: * Cookie Monster Donut Milkshake (which comes with an actual Donut on the milkshake) * Red Velvet Glaze Donut * Strawberry Cheesecake Donut * Glazed Donut A lot of novelty donut shops, like this, offer a huge variety of donuts...but lack in the taste and texture department. EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS and the donuts were soft (not hard or crumby). We honestly had no complaints about anything we ordered and will definitely be returning to try additional flavors. I'd highly recommend this donut shop to anyone looking for donuts that don't just LOOK pretty, but also TASTE delicious.

The take.. 2 donuts and coffee

This place coming soon for like a year or more... so was interested in seeing that they finally opened. I dropped in for a coffee and a couple of donuts. Was greeted by the staff and everyone was really helpful and nice. There was so many options it was hard to make a choice so the gentleman at the counter helped me figure it out. Settled on a peanut butter Oreo as well as a brownie donut. Also got a coffee. Donuts were good. Definitely respectable donuts and alot of flavors to choose from.

I ate my second donut the next day, but unfortunately the crunchy texture was gone and the topping made the donut a bit soggy, but it was still good, but tasted much better when you eat them fresh out of the fryer. I'm sure that location is still great but I was able to live without having to buy donuts for some years. Then came an impromptu trip to Margate since we saw there is a Dandee Donut Factory there. And Costco. Because why not. The time to eat donuts is now. We only bought donuts to go so I can't speak to the dine-in experience or food. The diner counter and tables looked fun to sit at. Their breakfast sandwiches sound amazing and I drooled a little accidentally looking at their diner menu. Did they always make bagels? I'm not that much of a Dandee connoisseur but I feel inspired to go back and try the bagels and their food food. The counter wasn't very busy when we walked in, thanks to two staff workers who were taking orders. Imagine my delight when we asked for a half dozen donuts and the gentleman staffer said we can choose 7. I will now miscount dozens from now on. I asked for the sour cream donuts because the shelf for them was empty (gasp) and he reassured me that they have more in the back to refill. We asked what the crunch part of the blueberry crunch donut was and he said the blueberries themselves have been prepared to be crunchy. We got 2 of those and they were the best bites in the whole box. The donuts were chock full of flavor of the blueberries and the crunch from them was the unexpected texture you want in a donut to cut through the dense dough. No wonder these donuts are one of their best selling ones. We got an apple fritter because it was massive, like a bear claw ate a stack of biscuits. The cinnamon and apple tastes were present but the dough was a little empty to me, so it left a lot of oil taste. Like it reminded you that all these buggers have been deep fried when you don't want to be reminded. The chocolate, double chocolate and cookies and cream donuts all used the same chocolate donut base which was a little dry to me but had nice cocoa flavor. It's strange but I ended up preferring some frosting to the chocolate donuts to have some moisture to the bite. With carb loading season coming up, I'll plan for another excursion to Margate to get a half dozen box of sour cream and blueberry crunch donuts! I mayyyy share.
