Sadly they only had one cup left. Was hoping to collect a few more. Open ordering staff offered me a fresh warm donut on the house. What a way to start a conversation. I felt very welcomed. My donut holes in the cup didn't seem as fresh. Tasted stale but all other donuts were great. But on the bright side I did get my collectors cup. read more

Came recently for a few donuts and a box of donut holes. Was going to get 10 of those little dots but the gal behind the counter told me for $1 more, we can get 24 . So I got them 24 because I like to scrape off the thick layer if sugar and pop them in the microwave and they're so good.l and chewy. But yeah, 24 is way too many to eat. I was heading out of town for the holidays and wanted to take advantage of a Krispy Kreme offer: Free Peanuts Christmas Doughnut with any purchase. It was the last day this offer was active, and since I was passing by this Krispy Kreme in Mission Viejo, I figured I'd stop by this location to see how it would compare to the others I've been to before. Unfortunately, as convenient as the location is being right off the 5 freeway, I don't think I'll be making a return visit to this location anytime soon. This Krispy Kreme in Mission Viejo is located on El Paseo, which runs parallel to the freeway for the most part. Oso Parkway would be the closest exit, where you'd head west and make an immediate right on Cabot before another quick right on El Paseo. As soon as I came in, I was met by a line with a huge separation between customers that I almost thought there were two lines! I momentarily stepped out of line just so I could see the Peanuts Christmas Doughnuts that were offered, but didn't realize I almost made it look like I was cutting in line! The employees there were sooooooooooooo slow at servicing the customers inside the shop that even the customer behind me complained at how long it took for us to get served. Granted, this location does have a drive-thru, but it felt like the employees were putting their full focus on filling boxes of doughnuts for the drive-thru customers while nearly neglecting the customers waiting by the front counter. The customer in front of me was standing so far back from the register that I couldn't even see the drinks part of the menu. She was placing a pretty big order of doughnuts, so I had to wait even longer for another employee (Rilee?) to assist me. Rilee had such a soft voice that unfortunately proved to be a high communication barrier between us. It took her a while to understand that I wanted the Snoopy Cookies & Kreme Doughnut for my free Peanuts Christmas doughnut. I thought she would have rung me up, but she said something to me before running off. I could barely hear her, but it sounded like she didn't have the credentials to ring me up, perhaps another sign of dysfunctionality with the staff working that day. A different employee, Meghan, ended up assisting me, and she was much more customer-oriented, but made an oversight on my coffee order. I wanted the Classic Brewed Coffee, and their menu only showed the price for Medium. When I asked how much more a Large would have been, she said it was only ten cents more than the Medium when I was expecting twenty cents, so without even asking to see the sizes, I went with the Large. It took her a couple of minutes to prepare my hot coffee, but she omitted asking if I'd like some sugar and/or cream to go with my coffee. I would have preferred cream, but no sugar. Unfortunately, their counter by the side exit only had napkins, coffee stirrers, and sugar, but no cream, so I was left without any cream for my coffee. I could have asked, but had already been displeased with how the employees focused too much on transferring doughnuts to and from the display case while not keeping an eye on the line. Most of the Snoopy Cookies & Kreme Doughnuts on display looked pretty droopy (thanks Kimberly L for the rhyme!). At least the effort was there? However, once my droopy Snoopy doughnut was placed inside the takeout bag, the face was even more disfigured with the eyes and the nose smushed from the plastic; only the ear remained intact, and it almost looked like a propeller blade instead. At least the Cookies & Kreme taste was there, but the flavored filling inside the donut wasn't nearly as flavorful; with how underwhelming my experience was overall, I wouldn't be surprised if Charlie Brown ended up disappointed as well. I probably would have liked his namesake ornament doughnut better; that has brownie batter flavored filling. Their other two Peanuts Christmas Doughnuts are Santa Belly and Christmas Wreath. As with any Krispy Kreme you go to, I like going inside to see the doughnut making process. They even had a narrow, but elevated platform for the kiddos to see this process up close! It would definitely get their attention while you're waiting in line to order your sweet treats. They also have a grab & go section of refrigerated bottled drinks between the doughnuts and the register. I previously mentioned the drive-thru in this review, but if you don't want to go inside, they also have an outdoor patio consisting of a few tables that you can sit at while your friends/family go inside to place their order(s). Overall, my experience at the Mission Viejo Krispy Kreme was pretty disappointing. This is one of two locations in Orange County by the 5 freeway, or three if you include the one inside Amazon Fresh at The Market Place in Irvine. I don't know if that location would honor an offer like the one I redeemed at this location, but even if it doesn't, I'm more likely going to visit that Krispy Kreme over this one. read more

Today Krispy Kreme is offering FREE Original Glazed Donuts in celebration for REAL ID. I arrived at this location and asked the guy at the counter if they were giving away free donuts. He said "As long as you have a REAL ID". But I showed him the photo saying "No Real ID". He insisted a couple more times that I had to show my Real ID in order to get a Free donut in spite of Krispy Kreme's statement on their promotion. I walked out. God led me to their website. I saw the disclaimer in which I added a screenshot for you to see, where it says specifically no Real Id needed. I went back in and spoke with Marie this time. She was more open and helpful and I thank her for listening to me. I showed her the website and she was confused too. She must've not understood Krispy Kreme's message in whether a customer NEEDS to present their ID or not. She did her best to explain why the guy must've asked for my ID, due to misunderstanding. Extremely frustrating experience with Marie at the register. I clearly ordered four dozen donuts in total--two dozen Pokémon donuts and two dozen pumpkin spice glazed donuts. I repeated myself multiple times, but she completely misunderstood and only rang up two dozen total (two Pokémon and two individual pumpkin spice donuts instead of two full dozens). I don't know what happened to Krispy Kreme, but the customer service has absolutely gone downhill. The last few months, every time I've stopped by the drive-through, it's the same experience: sitting there forever, line barely moving, only to finally reach the order box and find out they don't even have the donuts available. What exactly are we waiting for? No apology, no urgency, no effort to communicate what's going on -- just long waits and disappointment. A drive-through shouldn't feel like a gamble where you invest time only to be told "sorry, we're out." This used to be a reliable stop. Now it's consistently slow, poorly managed, and frustrating. We went to go get a dozen donuts and they took forever to even acknowledge the customers to the point where two groups left. They were not even busy and had multiple employees inside. I am a regular customer at this location. No more. I went in today because there was a nationwide offer for a Free Doughnut since the U.S. Soccer Team had a shutout in the World Cup yesterday. I was going to pick up my free doughnut and purchase another one. Nobody knew anything about the offer, and even when I showed them it on my phone, they would not give me the free doughnut. I just had a terrible experience at Krispy Kreme in Mission Viejo. My wife asked me to pick up a dozen donuts for our daughter's sleepover, and what should have been a simple stop turned into complete frustration. First, while waiting in the drive-through, I watched an employee toss out what looked like 100 perfectly good boxes of donuts--straight into the trash. Wasteful and shocking. This makes paying for a box even add more insult to injury. Try giving back to your community that supports your business Krispy Kreme. Then, I ordered one dozen donuts (half glazed, half chocolate) for $24. When I pulled up to the window, I handed the cashier a $100 bill. He refused it, saying they only accept cards or smaller bills. Imagine that--a business won't take legal U.S. currency. With today's prices, carrying larger bills is normal, and yet they refused to serve me unless I used a card. This was also after 11:00am which a corportation of this size should have enough business that they should make enough money to operate business properly. This means I'm forced to put $24 on my credit card, which really ends up costing closer to $29 once you factor in interest rates on credit cards these days. All for a dozen donuts. This experience shows exactly why businesses like this are losing touch with customers. Prices keep going up, service keeps going down, and the customer experience doesn't seem to matter anymore. When she does well or on special occasion. This time was her birthday. I ended up yelling at the last delivery driver to just get back until I get my order because I was sick of waiting to get a few donuts for my pregnant wife. I get it, you have to sell as much as you can, but if you don't want to service customers that are walk-ups then just shut down the dining room for customers and make everything drive-thru or pick-up order only. When I arrived at 6:47, my two dozen doughnuts were ready to go and it was a quick and easy process.
