But once we were able to identify the line, it literally took only 10 minutes of wait. I got the guava roll, of course, and it did not disappoint. We also got a concha and that was definitely not impressive. The staff are friendly and very patient considering the crowds they deal with. I definitely recommend grabbing a menu while waiting so that you can order immediately once it's your turn. There's also a bathroom on site.

It's one of those rare places that get really hyped up and turn out to actually be worth the hype. We stopped in here on three different occasions during our Mexico City trip, and despite how viral it is there was never a line. The staff was very friendly, prices very reasonable, and order always came out super quick. My favorite things were the rol de guayaba, cafe de olla, and the puerquito de piloncillo. The guava pastry and puerquito were very fresh, soft and not crummy at all. The guava pastry was specifically memorable as it had the most delicious creamy filling in it that tasted like real guava and not overly sweet. The cafe de olla was addicting with the spices being perfectly balanced. It sets the standard for cafe de olla... it's not clear if I'll ever get one as good as the one they make here. This is a must stop during any visit to Mexico City.

If you don't want to wait in the guaranteed line at Panaderia Rosetta across town for the famous guava roll, then come here it's the same bakery! It had indoor and outdoor and covered outdoor seating. It was awesome to sit outside and listen to the rain while I inhaled my bakery items. The guava roll of course- fabulous. They even have the jam you can take home with you. They also have a menu of non bakery items. I highly recommend this spot!

We were told the wait would be 30mins but it was over an hour. At some point the staff member removed our name from the list despite us standing right next to the door and waiting (and asking for updates) the whole time. The host was apologetic about this and tried her best to make up for it with a good table. Eventually we were seated and the menu was great. Really delicious food choices ranging from my Mexican flavors to more basic Western options. Scrambled eggs looked good, the piadina was delicious, as were the chilaquiles! Plenty of fresh juice options and pastries (from Rosetta)!

We started with samosas and then had a shrimp dish, mussels, and a chicken dish. The shrimp was my favorite. A unique flavor. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the accompying sauce was rich and flavorful. Ambiance was nice but the music was a bit too loud at times. Overall an excellent restaurant. Glad we were able to come here during our visit of CDMX.

P.S. If you arrive early, there's a cute cafe/restaurant right next door Quereres, that I recommend supporting! My recommendation: Come here if you're open to trying new flavours and styles; it's different, it's worth at least one visit, and definitely get the prawns & crab biryani if you're a seafood fan. It is loud (so hard to have a conversation), but the service is great. For what we ordered, only 2 dishes stood out, so I was not as wowed as I should be for a Michelin-star restaurant. (I loved the Brutalist decor and colourful menu with their quotes & message; Palestina sera libre.) Reservation: We'd made a reservation for the Reservación en Salón option in advance a couple months in advance through their website via Tok. All prices are Mexican pesos. Decor, layout, & ambiance: It's a relatively small, undecorated (by art) space, split into the dining salon for the front half of the space and a larger group seating (facinig the open kitchen). The interior is very much Brutalist with the grey concrete and sharp lines, with some warmth coming from the open kitchen. We were seated in a little corner, opposite the bar, with a speaker overhead, so it was hard to talk or hear anything, and I barely got a peak of the kitchen. The 2-bathroom space was neat, albeit dimly lit - great use of a small space though! A little hard to navigate, given the spacing between tables & chairs; I can see this being more of a challenge if you're not able-bodied, are in a wheelchair, or have mobility limitations. Noise level: Be warned, given the low ceilings in a certain area of dining salon, the placement & volume of the speakers, and concrete, the noise level was not ideal for talking. I wish they would do something about this given how prevalent it is in reviews & feedback to them directly. Service: We were seated right away when we arrived; while there were only two other parties of 2 seated when we arrived, it definitely filled up within the hour; every seat was taken. We were asked if we wanted the service in English or Spanish, and we opted for the latter; our server also asked if he should just pick out the dishes for us and my party agreed. Not only did he manage to pick out the dishes that were top notch, he also explained the history behind each dish. What we got: This is a family meal-style place, so order to share - our meal lasted a total of 2 hours. 1. Starter: Encurtidos, achaars y fermentos | Fermented Pickled Peanuts $200 I don't remember actually ordering this, so it might have been gratis; either way, I did like the hands-on approach to peeling the fermented peanuts and truly enjoyed the achaar-y sauce it came in - the tamarind came through nicely. 2. Appetiser: Infladita chaat | Chaat $285 A single puffed wheat shell with raita, hibiscus chutney, pineapple, potatoes, cucumber, mint chutney, and cilantro. The novelty of breaking it open and the taste went away after the first bite; I felt it was missing the tartiness of tamarind & chutneys in chaats that I am used to. I'd recommend skipping this, unless you've never had a chaat before. 3. Appetiser: Camarones Pa'pelar | Prawns $445 Cooked in ghee with vanilla and chile morita, it was such a crispy-crunchy shell with absolutely tender meat. I highly, highly recommend this - get 1 order per person and you won't regret it; don't forget to suck out the juices from the head too! 4. Entree: Chile relleno de bharela ringan | Chile relleno with eggplant $395 The sauce was deliciously rich, mole-like; we had to cut it with a little bit of the fermented peanut sauce from earlier since it was too thick for us, but oh-so-filling. A unique flavour profile of the smokey chile with the sweet eggplant. Wasn't our favourite dish, sadly. 5. Entree: Biryani con encocado | Crab biryani $485 If there're only two dishes you get, I highly recommend getting this as your second one. The crab was perfectly tempura-like fried and crispy - I ate it all, as you're meant to. The biryani is South Indian-style, steamed in the banana leaf with coconut milk, so a bit thicker & wetter. The blend of spices, the heat, the creaminess of the coconut, and the fragrant jasmine rice all went to beautifully with a delicious, crunch crab. 6. Drinks: We got tepache (a fermented pineapple peel & rind beverage, with piloncillo) and second one that I forgot about, but we enjoyed them both very much - defintiely recommend to balance out the richness of the dishes. We sadly didn't have space for dessert; hopefully next time. Note: The menu's in Spanish - as it should be; if you can't ready Spanish, your server or Google Translate will help, or look here on Yelp!
