Carmel Frozen Caramel Specialty Latte

DO NOT GO HERE! I am extremely disappointed. We came through the drive though on sat may 10th at around 7:55pm. We got donuts and a "blended Carmel latte". Let me just say it was beyond disappointing. The worker was rude and when he handed us our drink he picked it up and looked at it and stirred it around a little, knowing it wasn't full all the way. I asked if he could fill it up the way, as the cup was only 65% full of the latte and a tiny bit of whipped cream. He replied with "sorry I ran out of whipped cream". Either way the latte itself wasn't even filling the cup. And the cherry on top... the chocolate donut was so much smaller than the rest and had a very thin layer of icing. Bottom line... DONT GO HERE.

$3/ea and they hardly had frosting or filling. Super disappointed in the size too, what happened to Krispy Kreme?! The guy who took my order also messed up my coffee. Was really looking forward to it, especially coming from out of town, but what a let down.

The donuts seem like they were made a day or two before selling. The staff doesn't open and are not set up on time.

Walked in to a basic mom'n'pop store greeted by the smells of oil and sugar. Gentleman at the…read morecounter politely said hello. Since it was my first time, I decided on a trio of their glazed varieties. I'm not a huge fan of overly filled and topped donuts anyway. The classic plain glazed donut was fluffy and airy inside and lightly glazed on top- perfect. The glazed French Crueller was slightly wet inside and crispy outside- prob won't get again as I prefer the fluffiness of the classic donut. The sour cream fashioned I saved for last because it's my go-to donut. Honestly, it let me down. Yes, it was crispy with lots of crusty surface area and had a dense inside. But it had too much surface area that held on to too much glaze, making it overall way too sweet for me. I will be back to get more plain glazed and maybe try the twisted two-toned.

Hits: - buttermilk: first one i've ever had that actually kind of tastes like buttermilk. great texture too - glazed chocolate cake donuts: the cake base is super chocolatey even without chocolate icing. impressive. Misses: - apple fritter: soft and flexible like a paper plate with minimal pieces of apple, really disappointing given how big it is. mine had way too much cinnamon in it too. - anything with "strawberry" icing: classic pepto bismol flavor, my search for good strawberry donuts in ongoing - glazed: wet?? definitely not a raised texture, the icing kinda soaks into it making it soggy. can't decide if it wants to lean cake donut or bready donut. ???: two-toned knott - bready, is it supposed to be that way?

Not only is this a fantastic place to stop and grab coffee or ice drinks it is one of the most adventurous gluten-free menus I have ever seen outside of New York or Los Angeles. Lots of places tend to stick to basics for gluten-free and that's great. It's always appreciated when people work to make accommodations however Explorado Market swings for the fences and while I haven't sampled anything the few things I've had our home runs. If you told me there was someone in Colorado that does an amazing pastrami sandwich that is completely gluten-free. I would've looked at you sideways and said "I don't know about that." EM not only gets on the uneven bars of a tough culinary maneuver to pull off, but they stick the landing. The gluten-free tiramisu is in the same category and the drinks are just something that I have yet to find elsewhere and that is really a great thing. I would call this not just a great place to go for breakfast or lunch, but a real value add to people with food sensitivities, and people within an adventurous pallete Bravo to the whole crew at Explorado Market!

Fun environment, nice people, & delicious drinks! I enjoyed my iced matcha with strawberry :)read more

This fine sunny and warm Sunday morning found us hopping in (again, we came last year) to La Crêperie to fight the crêpe withdrawals--it's been too long. Interior is very "Parisian cafe", period art, TVs showing videos of the pastry chefs doing their thing. She ordered a hot chocolate to start, and a Parisian crêpe (berries, whip cream, raspberry coulis). I ordered a galette (think square envelope-crêpe) from the savory side. I'd had it last visit and had been looking forward to a redux. I ordered the Professeur Steve, capers, mushrooms, caramelized onions, spinach and brie, which arrived with smoked salmon arranged like a rose at opposing corners (keeps it cold). Oh man, this brie-gooing mushroomy sweet-caramelly onion spinach umami explosion goes perfectly taken in a bite with the salmon. Addiction sated; withdrawals saved off until next June's visit. Wife's crêpe was delicious--everything sweet-toothers love. Hot chocolate is real. Like not from a packet but from a chocco chunk and paid labor somewhere nearby. Whipped cream was real, and thick enough that it could have been sliced and served on its own. Absolutely freaking delicious. Love this place. See you in a year!
