They were out of a fried chicken and fish which was what I really wanted to try and their menu is small so there weren't many alternatives. I settled on the fried pork (griyo). It was delicious: seasoned, tender, and fried in a way that didn't dry out the meat. There were a few pork pieces that were basically all fat and inedible. They give you a lot of rice and beans. The pikliz was also great with it. I even loved the fried plaintains which were smashed & fried crispy. I also sample a little of my friend's oxtails and they were just the right amount of spicy. They slide off the bone perfectly.

This is my favorite Haitian restaurant in the Tampa Bat area and I have been eating here for years. It's family owned and the food is consistently delicious. I've never waited longer than 10-15 minutes for my food when ordering upon arrival.

Honestly presentation is everything for me and let's just say it not only look good but tasted good as well !!!!!!

Wonderful Haitian food made fresh. Be aware that they'll fry up your food to order, so be prepared to wait 10-20 minutes for your meal, no matter how empty the restaurant is. I had the Griot. Lots of very tender, crispy pork. To counter the rich meat, I had the black rice (rice made with lima beans) and pikliz. The pikliz were the best I've ever had, spicy and also citrusy. I could have eaten a gallon! I highly recommend everything that I ate. Even the fried plantain, which is often a throwaway part of my meal was good. Just light tasty (very crispy), perfectly seasoned. The setting isn't great, and the service is hit or miss (actually, the young man who brought out the food was very nice). But it's worth it for the food!

Every time I go here the food is on point. You have to wait like 15-20 minutes if you don't call and order ahead. Will worth the wait though.

I've been to two other Haitian restaurants in Tampa. And after my friend recommended Kreyol delight, her last thing to say was "you won't regret it." And boy oh boy! I DID NOT regret it. The chicken patty was extremely flavorful and moist. The griot complet i ordered was fresh. The griot fell apart, the rice and beans were also perfect. I will definitely be coming back for me! This Miami native has found her go-to Haitian spot in Tampa!

Rare Ethnic Food No. 20 Haitian cuisine is unique in certain way. I am guessing they probably start with what they can find in the island. It is unique in their way of cooking using the ingredients at the island. The restaurant is counter order and bring to the table. We have order the Oxtail (Ke bef) and the Fritay Konple. The oxtail come with the side of plantain and one choice of side. Definitely pick the Diri Djon Djon. This rice have a lot of flavor and it have unique taste. The Fritay Konple is fried goat piece come with plantain and a fried veggies that I do not even know the name. The goat is chop to pieces. The meat closer to the bone is the best. Is is a bit tough but it is adventure to try. Overall is very good experience. We have special home made drink with mix of passion fruit and some other fruit. Not sure what the actual mix. But is good enough.

    Receipt of order

24 patties for 53 dollars without any pizliz. Now would I ever recommend that? No, the patties are not as advertised. Floofy with little filling, the bottoms were burnt, triangle not square. This was a waste of money. This food is mediocre.

Haitian food is here to STAY It'll rock your world, it'll make your DAY There isn't really anything more to SAY So if you come to Tampa, you come to ALEZ! YAY! What to get: Legumes, beef stew, anything he recommends What not to get: Angry at the haters, because Haters gonna Haitian! My fave restaurant in Tampa, amazing portions and value, wonderful service and ownership, and some of the best tasting food I've ever had, which made me fall in love with Haitian food! In fact we need more rapping, STAT! Barbie is so hot so we're always MATING She's usually screaming for the whole DURATION But the best food in Tampa, for your INFORMATION Is Legumes and more at Alez HAITIAN! As for the haters, obvi they're always HATING But this food deserves a standing OVATION With Alex around, you'll never suffer STARVATION Cause the best food in Tampa is Alez HAITIAN! So yes. One of the very best food experiences in FL. Perfect Haitian food. Amazing. The Beef with Legumes (Veggies) is perfection, esp because of the eggplant. But everything they make is damn good. I didn't even realize that I was in love with Haitian food until I came to Tampa. I thought I was only in love with Barbie. I thought I was going to have to get down to Miami (sort of like I get down to Kool & The Gang) to try the really amazing Caribbean and Latin food... but I found some great versions of them up here in Tampa, and this was at the very top of my list. This remains the best Haitian food I've ever had, even now that I've tried the best ones in Miami (half a dozen of them, in fact), and several in other parts of the country. We're talking about some of the most miraculous food you'll ever eat. It's not dirt cheap but it's not expensive and portions are huge. You'll be addicted as soon as you try those legumes, rife with eggplant, which are the number one dish for me. But absolutely everything they make is off the charts beautiful. It would be my first destination for food when I come back to Tampa, and not just for the perfect food but for the beautiful murals on the wall and for the wonderful service as well. He was so curious and tickled about how I found his place, but I'm so glad that I did. This is yet another example of how wonderful Yelp can be when it's done right and used right. Haitian food is "of the Gods" (as the Greeks would say) (in Greek) (OK fine I made it up) and probably my favourite from the Caribbean, and this is the ultimate Haitian food place. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Come here immediately when you are in Tampa and get the legumes and whatever else you want. You will be as thrilled as I was. In fact, it's so good that: You'll thank all Haitians for their IMMIGRATION Your neither regions will produce LIQUIDATION Which can be used for natural LUBRICATION And help you achieve food SATIATION It's the best, and that's not a false ALLEGATION Top food in Tampa, it receives my NOMINATION It makes me and Barbie practice PROCREATION We enjoy it as much as PENETRATION As much as a sub enjoys SUFFOCATION As much as Barbie oft inflicts STRANGULATION As much as a bad employee enjoys INSUBORDINATION It causes her underwear to endure SATURATION As much as J-WOWW's hotter than the SITUATION As much as our pictures threaten SANITATION And cause random acts of MASTURBATION Come straight over to ALEZ HAITIAN! I bought a large diri kole pwa rouge ak koden (rice and peas with fried turkey) and the rice was soooo dry and tasteless. The turkey was ok but it wasn't the most flavorful as it usually is. My red flag was the sauce! Before paying I held it and asked them if this is the sauce they make and they said yes- but it was just the broth from the meat they cooked. They either poured it directly into the cup or attempted to make a sauce with it and tomato paste but failed miserably. Haitian cuisine is like no other and this restaurant continues to get more terrible overtime. I've been eating here since 2015 and the food taste is currently at its worst. I wasted $14 because I could only eat like 4 bites of it- I lost my appetite for the whole day and gotta reset my taste palette. Im gonna have to either re-cook/re-vamp it or just take my L and throw it out. The last management made tolerable food to eat when you crave Haitian food but Kreyol Delight is closed or something, this new management is just terrible. I should've drove the extra mile to KD-- never am ever eating here again.

Haitian food north of downtown…read more I was in the area and decided to try out a new restaurant. As I'm the only person in my family who loves Haitian food, I decided to try George's Family Cuisine. They have a cafeteria set-up, but it's mostly empty. There's a menu, but you're better off just asking what they have, because the menu doesn't correspond (nor do the prices listed!). On my visit, they had black rice (rice and beans, black in color from being cooked with mushrooms) and goat, so that's what I ordered. I think there was a veggie stew and some sort of chicken dish as well. There are a few small tables in the restaurant, but the employees were sitting at those, so without asking my preference, they served my food in stryofoam (thank goodness I do live close enough to take the food to go!). The portion was huge, enough for two meals. Inexplicably, maybe because they didn't have salad or a veggie dish as a side, I was given a whole (peeled but uncooked) banana. She was about to wrap up my meal when I asked about pikliz, which they do have in the fridge. She gave me the dregs of the pikliz. The total cost was $24 including tax. The food was... fine. The goat was tender and not too gamy. The rice was bland. The pikliz were not spicy or acidic enough, so I guess I'm glad I was at home and could add hot sauce to compensate for the lack of seasoning in the rice and goat. I guess I'll have to keep on driving up to the USF area when I am craving Haitian food.
