The worlds cover two floors and about 3 store spaces in length. Be prepared to climb stairs, squeeze through narrow passageways, crawl into tunnels, etc. So wearing a long dress isn't advisable. They have a snack bar and at least one hint helper. There were also 2-3 restrooms. After about an hour our group got tired and left early. But that's a personal thing. We finished about 3-4 puzzles in that time. While it wasn't as cold as a movie theater it was still somewhat of a break from the humid heat outside. Highly recommend if you're in a group with young children. Older children and adults may not enjoy it as much unless they're really into fantasy worlds.

The website explained that it was a tablet directed quest game and would take about an hour. However, that's out of date. The time allotted for a single game was two hours. Be warned when setting the parking meter! Basically there are four "realms" that each offer quests. When you see a tablet, you can choose to interact with it and accept or deny a quest. You can accept the quest via your group's tablet by selecting the appropriate symbol. Then the wild goose chase begins. Clues send you all over the place to talk to characters and collect the virtual items. Up stairs, through secret passages, tunnels and more. Rarely did we encounter teams that were following the same quest at the same time we were so that was great. As crowded as it got in certain areas, we were all kind of doing our own thing. I believe there were around 16 quests that could be completed, all with varying levels of difficulty and length of time to complete. We made it through 4, and part way through another in our two hours. I was amazed by the level of detail that went into the planning and decoy of this game and all the rooms. It was more interactive than I had anticipated and also tiring! But what a fun afternoon. I'd love to go into more detail but I don't want to spoil anything. I found the theming a bit off, they basically put artifacts in closet spaces to accommodate the weird rooms that were once Wizard's Quest. Don't get me wrong, the kids loved it and we spent probably 1.5 - almost 2 hours here but that was because we had kids who wanted to slide and crawl and climb everything. Adults might get through in an hour and that might be generous. I really do miss the weird museum stuff though. The spooky dark halls, musty rooms, and dimly lit cabinets. As well as not enough tubes for the lazy river/ rides! The arcade is also more for younger kids but no issue there other than the workers! The card machine ate $80 of cash and they said there was nothing they could do about it! I had to call and complain a few times for them to offer money back. But I was so glad I could try them. The waterpark was fun. I did spend most of my time in the indoor portion. However, I really enjoyed the lazy river outside. The crazy wave pool with the 9 foot waves ... scary and crazy... Also not for me but I enjoyed people watching. The rotating slide is really why I was there. I never been on something like this. I think it's the only one in the USA and wow was it weird. It was really fun and different and something I will be probably never experience again. It can give you a little bit of motion sickness due to the movement but if that's not an issue for you, you should be good. I also love a good hot tub which they had. I definitely recommend and would love to come back. It was just so unique and fun.

Tom Foolery's is a large family fun complex with tons of things to outside the credit-hungry ticket producers and claw machines. With a limited amount of time and children 5 and under, we didn't utilize every offering inside the building but did note the many ways you could get lost into spending a lot of time here. A Ferris wheel, ropes course, bowling alley, and more all filled up the space. We ended up spending our time playing some racing games and simple 'skill' games with balls or simple mechanics the kids could handle. Our adventures landed us with an amount of tickets we redeemed for some trinkets on the way out. Overall a fun experience that could have led to more if we had the time. Would recommend checking it out as part of your Kalahari (or nearby) experience.

Tons of games and tons of fun for all ages…read more Our first introduction to all that is 'The Dells' included a trip to Tom Foolerys and so they always have a soft spot in my heart. Attached to the Kalahari, they've updated and rearranged a bit and there's even more fun to be had. They have a variety of indoor rides. Personally, I dig the indoor ferris wheel and could seriously go on that on repeat (but I happen to love a good ferris wheel). They also have go carts, arcade games (complete with prizes), ax throwing, bowling, mini golf, and more. If you get the day pass, the mini golf is included--just a word of warning, it's a serve yourself kind of situation and there were some kids running around and maybe being a little chaotic with it vs. taking it in order (if that makes sense). They didn't bother us to much and when we kindly asked if they could wait before playing on the hole we were on, they did so. But, I could see on busier days it getting kinda wild. They have a new winners shop. Previously, like many arcades, it was a counter where you could spend your winnings (aka tickets). Now, they have a full blown shop, which I'm sure the kiddos will enjoy. They also have a new little bar situation where you can get frozen drinks as well as snacks. All in all, they've grown and expanded. If I had small kids, this would be a gold mine. They could play the whole day away in here. Get to it!

Our children ranged age 1 - 5 on this trip and we had six adults. We have been to multiple water parks and attractions, our two most recent being Cedar Point Shores and Zehnder's Splash Village. Overall we enjoyed our visits to the waterparks here at Kalahari Wis Dells. We had a weekend pass that also included entrance to Timbavati Wildlife Park. The outdoor waterpark was a decent size, offering the expected attractions as well as nice features like a standard swimming pool. Over our weekend we didn't have any issues finding seating and found amenities like food and drink within a comfortable proximity. Our little ones found a lot of enjoyment in the smallest play area, and inclusions such as the swings over the water helped mix it up. A foam party appeared more than once which was a fun additional activity to enjoy for all ages. Our only criticism of the outdoor park was the pool water was extremely, extremely cold. Typically the outdoor waterparks don't feature heated water but whatever was going on here was super tough to enjoy. The indoor waterpark became our preferred space as the water was warmer and there were more activities for the kids in our group. There was more of a mid-level kids area (our 3, 4, and 5 year olds really enjoyed) here as well as a larger smaller kids (1 year and even the 3-5) area. Us adults enjoyed the swim-up bar and some of the slides. My wife and I found time to do the 'Master Blaster' raft slide which was a quick thrill dropping from the very top of the building. Food options across both parks were plentiful and we were able to find something for everyone. Transitioning between parks was a breeze too, as the entrances to both are just a short hallway walk across from each other. The biggest flaw we noticed between the two parks was the towel situation. Both days towels 'ran out' in the afternoon which I would wager causes guests to check out as many towels as possible in the morning which in turn causes the towels to run out. A vicious cycle that may be a process worth revisiting. Design question - why is the lazy river connected to and passes through the wave pool? The lazy river and the wave pool are contradictory adrenaline levels. Weird. All that action really amplified the amount of people pushing, jumping, splashing, and swimming through the lazy river which really detracts from the experience. The gigantic conference center provided a great refuge to take my youngest on a long stroller nap. The conference space is almost comically large and was completely empty on our trip. The theming was excellent and the area was in great condition. Again, all and all we had a great family trip to both water parks and enjoyed our time on this property.

My Wisconsin coworker assured me that Kalahari and wilderness were interchangeable. Primary plans were for June but terrible weather in the Wisconsin and Chicago area for the 48 hours of our intended arrival made the trip impossible. I was able to cancel and get refunded for everything except Kalahari. Which is kinda fucked up because weather shit Is considered an act of God. I have no doubt I could have gotten a refund with the credit card but figured it would be less of a headache to just change the dates later in the summer. Fortunately, Kalahari was able to accommodate that. They wouldn't, however, give me a credit. They required the actual dates which didn't feel very customer service oriented-y. GF's birthday felt like an appropriate time to reschedule so I scrambled to get everything else required (flights, etc) sorted out to ensure the new dates would work. Contrary to some of the reviews I see, there was literally zero issue with check in. It took less than five minutes even though I was not able to use the self service kiosk because of the little date change situation. We stayed in the main resort which I would highly recommend. It was very convenient to be able to pop up to the room to charge something or grab something we forgot. First encounter after check in was weird. I went to get a coffee and ordered a cold brew. I asked if they had oat milk and the guy behind the counter was confused "you want to buy a bottle of oat milk? We don't have that" um.... no.... I just stared at him unsure how to respond. Milk in coffee isn't a foreign concept as far as I'm aware. He tried to tell me cold brew doesn't ever have milk in it. He called over another staff member. I asked if there was a milk station like in standard Starbucks and they said no. After a lot of back and forth eventually someone acted like they were doing me a huge favor by pouring a little oat milk in my cold brew. I would have wanted some sweetener as well but I was not about to push it. We made our way to the outdoor park which was underwhelming. There is a normal pool, a kiddie pool, another area that looks like a pirate ship conglomeration with some slides and other pouring water down things. There is another slide surrounded by an outdoor lazy river that was closed on that particular day. I don't recall if the side was open at that time. Not too much to do here so we made our way inside. This was where the rubber met the road, so to speak. Much more shit in here. There was that thing you can "surf" on that I was not about to do. There was a lazy river, small slides for little kids, I want to say maybe three structures that housed one to two or three slides for adults. There was also one hot tub and an area where you can shoot basketballs. There was also a swim up bar. They were very aggressive about checking ids but didn't check mine so I guess I look like an old hag. Overall it was just not as much as I was expecting for some reason. I was impressed by the cleanliness. Not that it was squeaky clean but I felt like a water park could definitely be worse. They do have cabanas you can rent. We rented ours on day of (a Monday in August) for $300 for the day. It was really nice to have a place to chill outside of the hustle and bustle of the park. We also had our own server, couches, waters, and a tv. It was really nice. We got pretty much a basic room in the main resort. No view whatsoever. The size was decent and included a mini fridge which was nice. The bathroom was small but the toilet flush was very mighty, much appreciated. The beds were SO comfy and plenty, very fluffy pillows were provided. Nothing like the flat, shit you would find in a civil war soldier's coffin bullshits one gets at most hotels. Thermostat worked well. My main complaint about the room was that the water pressure in the shower was ABYSMAL. It was literally like a sprinkler. When you spend time in yucky water park water you need a good hose down afterwards. If you have thick hair, forget it. It takes so long for that sprinkler ass water to penetrate its like not even worth it. This alone is a reason I would look to stay elsewhere in the future. If you don't have thick hair or don't care then it's a non issue. Oh, house keeping was great too. They took care of us and provided an abundance of towels. Probably doesn't come as a surprise but this place is absolutely crawling with children. The number of times I was pushed, bumped into, shoved into a wall, splashed, screamed next to made the lazy river basically untenable and degraded the experience in general. What can you expect from a water park though?
