Uncle Sam's is small, but I love the vibes - some guy was being a DJ outside in 90+ degrees heat. It's small, it's a little hectic; but there is a solid selection of fireworks and the prices are legit. Best part was the cashiers. Not only are they friendly and fast, but because I had my two young kids with me they gave them each a free "tank" firework and even listened when my son was talking a lot about how excited he was. Crystal, in particular, was super nice to us and did a great job. This is now my go-to place for fireworks

They Should've Called It Johnny Rocket's Tax Show…read more Came in to grab a few fireworks for the 4th--left wondering if I accidentally co-signed a mortgage. The selection looked good at first, but the real "fireworks show" happened at the register. On top of regular prices, I got hit with a 12% Indiana Fireworks Tax, two mystery taxes (seriously, they don't even explain what they are), and a 3% "convenience fee" just for paying with a card. By the end, I spent nearly $76 in fees on a $259 order--almost 30% extra, gone in a puff of smoke. The receipt reads like a scam receipt from a carnival. "2 taxes" just thrown together with no breakdown, no warning, no explanation. And the so-called promotions? Might as well have been a participation trophy--barely made a dent. I don't mind paying for quality fireworks--but if you're gonna tax me like I'm importing explosives from another planet, at least be upfront about it. Bottom line: If you like financial surprises, go for it. If you like honesty and value, shop literally anywhere else.

I decided to support small businesses more and instead of going to some bland big box store, I came across this spot during my search. So I went yesterday late in the afternoon after work. This place is an experience of it's own! It has it's own theme to it which I like. It's like a Chinatown meets Fun House meets floor to ceiling with fireworks. From the street your drawn into it from sheer curiosity and excitement. Yeah...its like that...especially to those who have a passion like I do for fireworks. There is a more intimate feeling when you walk up and begin to browse, I've been handling fireworks since I was a kid 30+ years ago and I knew the moment I stepped up this was it! I'm just mad it took me this long to find this place. I was surprised, this place is actually bigger than it seems, I had a "But wait! Theres more!?" moment. They have all the latest items (stuff that makes you ask WTH does this thing do!?) and also classics fully available. The owner is on the premises along with several clerks who will gladly assist you with whatever you need. Even videos of fireworks! They are all very knowledgeable and the girls were extremely polite, soft spoken but knew way more things than I did! What really separates this place is the customer experience and service. They even demo some things for you and have special events to do the same. I spent way less than I expected, there is no "price shock" here. I bought a couple "cakes" for my finale, and tons of small things for the kids to fiddle around with. I'm planning on going back to get a few more things next week, maybe one of those variety packs with everything in it. Thanks guys, you all are amazing and I appreciate your business.

I'll say that during the summer, you will find better deals at krazy kaplan's, likely because their stock is bigger. However, phantom is the place to go when it's not fireworks season.
