We moved to Star about 7 weeks ago. We came to Kravz for the first time this evening. Situated along Main St. in Middleton, it has a small parking lot and is located across from a park with a water feature designed to get you wet. You order from outside and there are tables with umbrellas to seating. There was no one there when we arrived. We stood waiting for several minutes, though we saw staff inside. Finally, a young guy came to the window and took our order. After that, we received our ice cream quickly. As other reviewers have noted, the regular scoop is very big; my wife got a mini scoop and it was plenty. I should have ordered that as well, but I went for the regular scoop. Really, too much ice cream for me. I chose the Huckleberry Heaven and my wife got Pistachio. Both flavors, very good. Though it was very warm outside, not to mention poor air quality due to the fires, it was comfortable at the tables, with a slight breeze. Still, we didn't linger outside for too long. So good! My daughter and I tried this place out on a Tuesday at 2pm. We were the only ones in line and service took about 5 mins total. I did think the prices for a scoop of ice cream were a bit high until I saw what their "small" looks like, and to be honest they do seem appropriately priced. (Their smalls are more like a large!") Cookie dough is my absolute favorite ice cream flavor BUT only if it's done right and this place DOES IT RIGHT! We love this place! It's always so fun to take the kids here. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The patio is clean with lots of umbrellas for shade. Every flavor is so tasty! All I can say is wow -- I'm truly disappointed by the customer service I just experienced at a small business here in beautiful Middleton, Idaho. I really hate to speak negatively about a local shop, but now I understand why their rating sits at 4 stars serving ice cream. At checkout, you're asked to leave a tip before receiving any service -- and I gladly left 15%, hoping to support a local business. Unfortunately, what followed was anything but deserving of that generosity. The young employee working the drive-through handed me a cup of melted ice cream that was dripping everywhere, including into my car. When I politely asked for a lid or a larger cup, I was met with attitude and told, "You should've asked for that when you ordered." I didn't realize it would take 10 minutes to get three scoops of ice cream, let alone in that condition. Sadly, this experience was enough to convince me to take my business elsewhere. read more

Wow! For a hot summer day, shaved ice (or shave ice as they say in Hawaii) really hits the spot! Optional coconut or vanilla cream, and vanilla ice cream in the center- these huge mounded shaved ice treats are a generous portion enough to share with the whole family! We tried several flavors between our two orders and everyone was happy with the quality and size! They use some Torani brand syrups and some others. They also have HUGE scoops of ice cream! I want to love this place because it's so cute, but everytime I go it's more frustrating than enjoyable. Orders take FOREVER and I'm talking 20-30 min wait for a couple scoops of ice cream. Half the time you order, wait 15 minutes then they tell you they're out of whatever you ordered. Today I ordered 2 bags of their pebble ice {I do love this} and 2 scoops of ice cream. They gave me the ice after a 5-10 minute wait then had to wait another 10 minutes for the ice cream while the ice was melting everywhere. It's not cheap either. I know it's teenagers running it and they are sweet, but probably won't be coming back. read more

Yes your sign says open to 10 pm and the arrived at 9:30 and all lights were on. Not one person came to the window to say sorry we are closed. We got out and asked if we could order and they said we are closed and said where is the sign we are open to 10. Its in the window. Apparently the young high school kids don't know your operating hours. If you close at 10 then turn the outside lights off and update your sign. We were not the only ones in line. This place has crazy big portions but they take sooooooo long to get your order out. There were quite a few teenagers working inside but seemed like most were just standing around talking while just a couple were actually working. Standing out in the triple digit heat wasn't fun without something cold to eat or drink for so long. And to make matters worse, after placing my order and waiting about 10 minutes in the heat, they called me to the window to let me know they were out of the ice cream I chose for my milkshake and that I needed to pick something else. So then I had to wait even longer, melting even in the shade. What a fun little place in Middleton! Located right across from the skate park and splash pad, Kravz has been tempting us to try for awhile. With delicious, fluffy shaved ice and what looks like practically a pint of ice cream for a single scoop of quality ice cream on a waffle cone, we were not disappointed. The service was a little slow but nothing out of the ordinary, especially since they hand-scoop the aforementioned enormous portions of ice cream, plus there was a steady stream of customers the whole time we were there at 8pm on a weeknight. Definitely will be back to try the shaved ice with ice cream this time.. and maybe we'll try the fresh mini donuts, too!! read more

Well, this was just the best butterfinger milkshake we've ever had. Hands down. Loved the thick straw and good on you guys for not skimping on the candy part! I graduated from Middleton high school in 2010 and man, this would've been such a fun place to go after school or basketball practice right across the street. (Now it's the Middleton middle school). This place is painted super cute, the menu is extensive and i really loved the soda i got. This is exactly what Middleton needed. Can't wait to stop by more during the summer. read more

My first experience I went here was for shaved ice, it was really good ! My second experience was getting a hot chocolate and it tasted like watered down packet hot chocolate with pumps of Torani in it. I'm not sure if they still make it this way but this was about 8 months ago it tasted horrible. My third experience is I went into the drive through just to get a single milkshake and there was a van in front of me, I waited about 15 minutes before I left. I drove by and there was about 10 people in it. If you know that there is a van full of 10 people you should probably go talk to the customer behind and tell them that it is going to be a little wait. Or at-least take my order and tell me that you guys will try and make it as soon as possible. If I would of known that the van had 10 people in it I would of probably just went to the front but since I sat there for about 15 minutes with no interaction I left and probably won't come back. read more

There ice is too chuncky for snow cones. Makes it super hard to scoop out with a plastic spoon. Ours were so bad we threw it strait in the trash and headed over to tropical snow. read more
