This isn't a snoody insider shop, where an angry neckbeard will laugh at you for not knowing your Image from your Darkhorse. These folks are happy to help anybody with their first venture into comics, or will kindly leave the veterans to browse. They will set up a pull-list for you, if you want to keep up to date on the latest issues, which is even easier and more convenient to do from home if you use Facebook or Instagram. Just follow their posts and comment on their new release postings to pre-order anything in advance. And my favorite Sunday activity is following their weekly "Claims," where they feature new-to-the-store key issues and bundles at great deals. It's also a great spot for Free Comic Book Day and Halloween. They have some back issues, including some nice expensive finds on the wall and behind the glass, but since it's not the biggest shop in the world, you could probably look elsewhere for that. The customer service and atmosphere is what I come for, though, so it's my first and primary destination for new books.

Good selection of longboxes, some new pull books, along with a fair selection of dollar books on shelves. Pop selection was small but they had a nice amount of exclusives. Various toys and collectables including figures were spread around the shop. The owner was very helpful in searching for items and pleasant to chat with. Overall, this is one of the better small comic shops I've visited, and fully recommend it.

The owner was very friendly, helpful, and passionate about comics and his store. He was also hands-on with helping me find comics but encouraged the me dig and search at my own pace. I enjoyed looking through the long boxes and participating in the interesting and thoughtful conversations. The books were in great shape and the prices were exceptional--there was a sale on the back issues today and I took full advantage of this. Cult Fiction Comics has been officially added to my favorite shops.

I've been going here for weeks and not once has it been organized or not in complete disarray. The owner is nice , I believe his name is Mike, but the other store employee is just unpleasant. I asked for change once and asked if I had anything smaller, which thankfully I did that day. But the second time I had a 50 and asked hey do you have change for this? (I was buying $35 worth of things) and instead of saying, sorry I don't have any change. he got incredibly angry with me and said I will not be giving you change at the start of the day and that I "tried to do this last time" I wasn't rude either time to provoke him, I was just trying to pay cash since it's the nice thing to do for a small business. I will from now on be trying my best to never go here again, I recommend you do the same. There is a store 7 minutes from here that is much cleaner, nicer, and has a larger selection to choose from. The shop expanded in early 2021 into previously vacant space and now has a new external entrance. Essentially, they moved all the comics and toys into the new space, and converted the old space into a gaming area. This expansion led to the closing of JAF's second location at the Palmer Park Mall, which had quietly become a standout shop for its new pull selection and $1 book bins. The shop has a good selection of new comic books and graphic novels. They have a fair selection of wall books and collectables. Longbox selection wildly varies. While they do have many, the cheaper boxes are located on the floor, making them hard to comfortably access. I wasn't here for the selection of gaming items, so I can't comment on that part of JAF. Staff have been a strong part of JAF, generally being friendly and helpful. JAF for me is challenging to rate, as the "main" store has always been a little average compared to other local shops. It's worth a stop to browse if in the area but going out of the way to come here would be a question. Overall, JAF is a 3.5, but rounding it up to a 4.
