Have always loved this jerky. It's been my fav and " go to " for years. Then ... a few weeks ago I got a bag of Zero sugar bbq style , took a bite and snapped my front tooth - the piece was hard, like solid wood ! Had to run to the dentist for an emergency : My left upper front tooth was snapped at the gum line - had to have both broken pieces extracted - the upper piece still embedded in my jaw- I've been trying to reach your company but have gotten no reply. I'm not the type who " litigates " or complains but this is now horrid - an insurance adjuster who was working on behalf of KRAVE, has dropped the ball - I've sent photos of the jerky / the bag etc - I have the dental exam with images & verification via the dentist that the product ( jerky ) caused my tooth to snap off. I would love some feedback and help to resolve this and get my tooth fixed please . I've been so very patient but am running out of Paige's due to the loss of my tooth, trying to eat, and function at my very public job . Help !!! read more

Jerky use to remind me of shoe leather or some dried tree bark. It's one only a few foods that I have no idea why people would want to eat it. Do not buy direct; they ship nearly expired product. On April 20 I ordered a dozen bags of Lemon Garlic turkey jerky b/c my wife liked them. The stuff I bought at the store a month before had an expiration of 12/2016. When shipment, direct from Krave, arrived the expiration was 06/16 - about 2 months remaining, and it tasted BAD; very bland, like it was OLD stock. Not the same spice or taste at all. Not sure what they were thinking, but less than 8 weeks to finish 12 bags is a little aggressive for me, but the bad taste was the killer. Curiously, I got a review request via email from Krave 2 weeks later, and wrote all this. Haven't heard a peep out of them. If you find it at the store, check the dates, and NEVER order it directly from them. Krave apparently had a recall a while back, but I don't think the turkey jerky was affected. See pix. Update 7/24/16: I've sent numerous emails to Krave about this, all unanswered. Finally, I disputed the charge on my Paypal, and they also failed to respond to that. I will update with Paypals resolution when available. Krave is clearly a company that does NOT care about customer service, only about moving product. I bought some Krave Jerky from Meijer during their buy 10 for $10 and get the 11th free, I have to write that it was a good time to try out something new, such as this product because I probably would not have paid original price for it had I had the first impression that I am now currently writing about. I mean..it tasted bland, even though, the flavoring was suppose to be Spicy Red Pepper Pork with Black Beans. I do like how they are trying to go the all natural route though: no nitrites, no using meat that was treating with antibiotics and added hormones, they even go onto write that federal regulations prohibit the use of hormones. Now wait, I would have to think.... so if federal prohibits it are they not doing it because they have to? Or should I feel they are better than competing jerky brands because they blatantly write that they do and that other jerky brands still put hormones and have just not been found out by the feds yet? My mom is the manager of a Bay Area Lucky's store so I often get to try yummy new items as they make their way onto store shelves. Even if you work at a grocery store, it's unlikely you'll try everything the store is selling. A shame really, since lots of great things may go undiscovered. Which is why it's especially important for businesses like Krave to help get their name out there by showing up at events such as the recent North Bay Yelp Elite Event in Mill Valley. At this event, the Krave representative Jennifer had samples of all their flavors. I'd only tried a few before. The tender jerky was my favorite with Garlic Chili Pepper seasoning. Their jerky is made from different type of meat and the variety of flavors is really my favorite part. We only use one flavor combination when we dehydrate at home. Krave jerky makes a great product for the meat-eaters. I recently bought a meatless jerky stick from a health foods store and it made me wish they had a variety of flavors to choose from. I get into caloric trouble when I don't plan ahead. Today I forgot my lunch and didn't want to explore options that would most likely lead to extra work at the gym or a longer cardio sesh. That's why I was happy to stumble upon the Jerky section at Target. I was about to go for big label brand (which is not great) but then I recognized Krave. I saw this at the Yelp's Summer Sip-Nic but didn't get a chance to try it because it was gobbled up. Now I know why. I went with Chili Lime. It made a great light lunch and saved me from blowing my today's work out. I ate a half a bag which came out to 150 cal with ~20g protein and ~22 grams of carbs. It is not like other jerky which has a chewy texture or chip like crunch. This is like tender slices of beef with interesting flavors. Next time I might go with Grilled Sweet Teriyaki. Or maybe I will get crazy and choose Black Cherry BBQ (pork). Or Basic Citrus (turkey). Either way I go I feel pretty good about a California based product with a creative (taste) twist. read more

I first had Krave jerky at a Yelp event, in Sonoma, called "The Grape Esape." In many ways, it is a reinvention of the product. It's like none I have ever had. Not only do they offer a variety of flavors, they offer a variety of animal sources: beef, pork, chicken, and turkey. In a seemingly universally saturated market, it seems not only bold but necessary. I tried many samples at the Yelp event. As I sit here, I am eating the lemon garlic turkey jerky, comparing it to fusion jerky, which I am also sampling. I won't say one is better than the other. Fusion is more traditional. That is, it is chewier, harder, and the supplemental flavor plays backup to the flavor of the meat. Krave, on the other hand, is a flavor explosion, supplied by much softer, more tender meat. The flavor is more largely supplied by the supplemental flavor, the meat flavor singing backup. All said, Krave is a welcome participant in the jerky market. I have never had jerky with this tender of a texture, and this intensity of a flavor. read more

The Chili Lime is the only flavor I had tried so far but anyone not just diabetic or pre-diabetic looking for a low carb snack - you really have to watch your portion control on this one! I love the Lemon Garlic Turkey Jerky, it is my all time favorite Jerky! But I really wanted to rate the customer service as amazing! I had an issue with a package I purchased at Costco so I emailed them about it. They responded within 10 minutes and sent me a new package by Fed-EX in one day! I purchased a 1.5 oz package of Krave's Beef Jerky - Sweet Chipotle flavor from ShopRite Supermarket today for my daughter. The package is stamped with a best used by date of 4/24/18. My daughter ate one piece of it and when she took another piece, she spotted mold on it. I pray that the moldy piece did not contaminate the piece my daughter already ate!! This is the first time that I purchased their product and I will be sure to let my family and friends know to beware - OUTRAGEOUS! read more
