This 7-Eleven even having been open for a few short years, it still retains the new feel of a…read moreconvenience store. I'm not normally a fan of multiple store of the same type being too close to each other, but I kind of like the Krauzer's - the rival convivence store being across the street. They may have some items 7-Eleven doesn't and I think it has alcohol. However overall the selection is just larger at 7-11 and the parking lot is just a bit better than it's neighbor. Definitely convenient right in a niche area of West Orange bordering Orange and right near I-280 so if you're need the pick me ups before or after heading out, this 7-Eleven location is here at the ready which is...well convenient.

At the West Orange, Valley Rd. 7-Eleven, they are dishonest! They cheat you out of your change…read more(dollars and/or cents), and they don't like to give receipts. So, unless you can calculate quickly in your head... they'll lie to you. One worker even acted like my card didn't work, so I would use cash. Then, he tried to cheat me out of a dollar, lied about the total when I asked, acted confused like he didn't know what I was talking about, and tried to refuse giving me a receipt. On a previous occasion another worker (female) shorted my change. When I asked for "all of my change", she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about, started shrugging her shoulders & laughing, and acted like I was overreacting. Yet, she tried to charge me $1 for a bag. In addition to being thieves, the prices are different from what you get charged (sometimes by .10, .20, or about .50 cents or more). When questioned, they say, the item was in the wrong place or that "you grabbed the wrong item". When that happened to me (ONE of the times), I questioned the difference in prices (price as marked on the shelf versus the price charged at the counter) and the manager told the cashier to give me back .10 cents. Then, he yelled for the cashier to add .10 cents to all the prices and walked off. The problem is .10 cents, 10 times equals a $1. My change is MY money, NOT an entitled tip for the workers to TAKE. So, I FINALLY stopped going there. Why go to a place where you're constantly being cheated and nickel-and-dimed? I go to a different store, now. I do NOT recommend this West Orange/Valley Rd. store-location to anyone!

If you are looking…read moreto buy a lottery ticket, grab a drink before a round of golf, or in the mood for a sandwich, this place gets the job done. USEFUL INFO -There is ample parking -At 11 am the deli portion of the store opens up -Lottery is available to buy -If smoking is your thing, they have a wide variety that you can pick up. -Wide selection of snacks After taking care of some errands today I decided to stop by and pick up a sandwich from the deli. As usual, the two guys behind the counter, Charlie and Neil, have always been friendly and helpful. Today I ordered the chicken cutlet sandwich which will put you back about $6.50. The portion size is fair and I would say they don't skimp out on value. If you are not a fan of chicken, their Italian sandwich is satisfying as well. FINAL THOUGHTS In my opinion, this convenient store has always been a staple of my town and really serves its purpose well. I regularly see locals and classmates from my high school stop by and I really think it speaks to the reputation this place has. Although this store may not get enough credit from an online perspective, I believe from a local standpoint the regular clientele speak for themselves. This may not be a high-end 7/11 or Wawa, but it'll get the job done.

After I grabbed a Powerade and a bottle of water, I went to the counter to pay. I found the cashier to be in a tug-of-war with lady over a hotdog. He was trying to take it back as she did not have the money to pay for it. To diffuse the situation, I told that cashier that I would pay for it. The hotdog was a little over $2. The area definitely had an issue with homelessness.

Thanks, Bleux Rogue :) I pretty much am going to defer to what was stated in BR's review. Maybe not with the same blunt/in-your-face realness. Cleanliness is an issue here. It's not as well maintained as it was when it first opened. Also, and this is a tough thing to control, the area outside of the entrance is usually littered with trash. It's a high foot traffic area because it's at the corner of Broad & Market, and by the bus stop. So often people just throw trash everywhere :( With the exception of one male cashier and a female cashier, customer service is poor. I remember once asking the staffer manning the hot foods station for mozzarella sticks, and she just looked right through me with dead eyes. Seeing no response from her, I just kept it moving. And then another cashier, before even handing me my bag, shouting, "NEXT!", right in my face. That said, I hate to not support new development in the area, but it's gone downhill. It IS different during working hours, but the foot traffic and litter are still issues.
