There was a truck at the first gas pump. I pulled around the truck and backed into the second gas pump spot. Yes, I could've gone to the other pump on the other side, and I probably should have but I didn't. Immediately, Kumar starts shouting, "Are you well?! Did you drink your coffee today?! Are you asleep?! Don't you see the truck behind you?!". I simply told him to "have patience with me, please, as I figure this out". He continues to complain saying that I need to go home and get some sleep. I finally pull into the spot and yet again, he questions me, "Where are you going? Back home to sleep? Or to work? Are you good?". I said, "Can you please fill my tank so I can be on my way". I am appalled at the lack of patience people have. I made a mistake and probably shouldn't have backed into the spot. Needless to say, this made me feel incredibly upset and I will not return here again. This is the most convenient Exxon location since I live right in town. I will miss seeing Freddy, as he has always been kind and considerate. Kumar's behavior is shameful. I hope he finds patience with customers in the future and can learn how to help them instead of berate them.

The typical service station attendant either greets you with a grunt (if at all) or makes you feel like you've just inconvenienced him by forcing him to put his phone down (heaven forbid!) for a minute in order to open the fuel tank and punch the right buttons on the pump. Not here. There's a cat who works at this Sunoco. He's got long gray hair and Navy-style tattoos on his arms. I'm guessing from the other reviews that his name is Joe. This guy is the Bruce Springsteen/James Brown of gas station attendants. In an era of decreasing professionalization, he BRINGS IT - 100 percent of the time. I pulled in this morning and he greeted me with an ebullient, "Hey, brother! How ya doin'? What can I get for ya?" I said, "Can I get it filled regular, please?", and he responded with a, "No problem!" Then he took my card, went over to the pump, and launched into a very convincing cover of The Fortunes' "Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again" - a song that I always turn off when I hear it on the radio but that somehow sounded fresh and groovy coming from his pipes. This is a man who truly enjoys his work and thrives on brightening up his customers' days. As soon as I was filled up, he closed the cap, printed out my receipt, brought it over to me, and with a big smile said, "You have yourself a great day now." This is how every professional - whether at the bank, the post office, the electrician, etc. - should treat his or her customers. If you're anywhere in the West Orange/Montclair/Livingston area and you need gas, do yourself a favor and drive the extra distance to fill up here.

While I understand gas prices can vary by location, the difference was definitely noticeable. When I asked the guy who "works" here when the real Coffee is gonna be ready he just disappeared into the back where I can only assume the break room is located. LOL!! So my choices were between their seasonal Caramel something or Decaf. Keep in mind it's like 7 in the morning and customers are starting to get pissed off over here and still none of the employees are brewing anything. Anyway long story shortened I had to settle for that Caramel Coffee which totally sucks but lucky for them at least someone up in here had enough common sense and decency to bake a fresh batch of breakfast sandwiches. I'm thinking "Employee of the Month" or even, dare I say "Management Material"  LOL!! Whatever the case is 3 stars for the Sausage Biscuit Sizzli Sandwich. I…read morestopped going here yrs ago due to PISS POOR service, but was running low and needed gas quickly. Tonight I asked for $30 regular. I found it odd that the attendant didn't ask for my zip, (which all BPs have in my experience). The meter stopped running at $1.74, and the attendant said "You have no money" lol, which was not the case. I told him to do credit and he refused saying I had to do debit and he asks for my pin. I said "I'm not giving you my pin, and furthermore you need to step away for me to punch it in." Which he was hesitant to do, and I had to yell at him again to go away. RED FLAG !!! I made sure to get a receipt and will be watching my statements for anything suspicious. AVOID THIS LOCATION!!!

The sign says 3.54 for regular, however, after he has your gas tank open he says the gas is now 3.59 in the hopes you will just go with the flow. It seems as long as he tells you before pumping gas he hasn't done anything illegal. It may not be illegal but it is unethical. This gas station has been fined before for mixing regular with premium. Stay away....let us show them that the residents of South Orange won't fall for the BS. Also, you can count on service with a phone...it is t he norm here to be served by someone with a cell phone glued to the side of their face. I repeat...stay away!!!

But their attittude is amazing makes me feel like they are happy with their job. I think its a bit weird they collect payment after they fill up the car and take the pump out since a lot of the other gas station in the area are PAY FIRST. But its nice element of trust and despite their appearance i still come back because of the courteous employees and the fact they trust their customers.
