Is there a correlation between Supremo Food Market and King Street? I went in to find out. Place…read moreis clean and is well stocked. At the time I came, there weren't many people shopping so I was able to get a closer look at the products! Prices are decent and even better when the items are on sale! Then the groceries do not hurt the pocketbook as much! The sales are good here! Good produce section and lots of frozen fruit pulps with exotic fruits of some I have never seen before like Lulo, until I saw the fresh Lulo too at the produce section along with giant cactus pieces and cactus fruit! There was a box of frozen breadfruit which looked like giant cherimoyas! Boxes of tamarind, fresh and dried poblanos could be had here. Lots of Latin products and even green Puerto Rican Sofrito! Household items tend to be more here. If you need a broom, check the various other stores on Smith Street for better prices. I spied Mexican pan as well as lots of cookies, crackers and guava pastes galore! There were pastilles rolled sheets, twine and empanada wrappers! You can get fresh pork rinds at $12.99 a pound as well as other hot prepared foods. At the time I went, there were some hot foods on display! Big fried empanadas too! I hope to come back to check out the Supremo again! I will take the advice of the fellow Yelper and bring cash too! Otherwise, a pleasant find during this trip!

Updated review: ;26 Sept 2024…read more Aldi in Europe is an entirely different matter. It is more like Trader Joe's in the States ( no surprise since TJ owns it and Lidl). In Portugal, Aldi is my favorite small supermarket, with quality merch and low prices. Ignore my review from 5 years ago, as it talks to a 5 year old start up Aldi in the US . I suspect the US. Concept has improved to keep up with its European heritage. Aldi is better in every respect in Europe, especially on the Iberian peninsula. For example, their flash frozen shrimp 12-15 size at around 12 Euro a kilo is worth twice the price. Same is true with specialty items like wine, liquor, cheese, and amazing breads. Some Trader Joe's items (nuts, candy, chocolate) are repackaged and bear the TJ logo. So .... I hope the Rte 9' Aldi has grown with the European parent. If so, it is a bargain supermarket that cannot be best //even by Costco standards.

This Aldi is in the same shopping center complex as Costco and IHop. It's really in Morganville but…read morethe Yelp address read Old Bridge. As you walk in, it's a fairly large and clean feeling supermarket. In addition to food, they also carry miscellaneous household items such as an electric hand vac, decorative baskets, scratch posts for cats, and other knick-knacks. It's a very odd feeling as you walk around. Dare I say, almost like a general dollar store vibe. There is no charm or warmth to it whereas Trader Joe's oozes with it. The only workers I deemed truly friendly are the cashiers. I went there on a whim and found their alternative milk sells for $1.99/half-gallon. Their Oat Milk sells for $2.99, by the way. Things on sale are mostly their own brand but they do carry some name brand items. They also carry some organic items but their selections are limited. They do carry a fair amount of vegetarian-based frozen prepared items, though. Be aware, if you use their paper bags to hold your groceries, it will cost you 6 cents for each bag. If you want to use their cart when you shop, have a quarter. Your quarter will be returned when you bring the cart back to the designated area. This is how they cut down on manpower and have the carts more organized and not all over the parking lot.

This weekend I went to H Mart to buy some oranges for Chinese New Year. We give them as gifts to family and friends when we visit their homes. Shocked, they were selling three for $3.99. The frugal Chinese shopper in me says, no way am I paying that price. Went to Trader Joe's instead and they were selling a bag of eight for $4.99. I even told the girl who was stacking the oranges how H Mart had the nerve to charge so much. Lol. As I continued to shop around the store, the girl came up to me with another bag of oranges and said take this bag instead it has nine (instead of 8) oranges. The fact that she took the time to look for me is what Trader Joe's is all about. That totally made my day. The workers go above & beyond. And don't get me started on the cashiers, I always enjoy saying hi to them and engaging in some friendly conversation. If you can't find a product, a worker will walk you to the aisle. Trader Joe's has me as a loyal customer for life. On another note, oranges are incredibly sweet and juicy right now. Go get yourself a bag.

Everyone is always so nice here. They never seem bothered when you ask them a question. The epitome…read moreof good customer service for sure. They're like the Disney of supermarkets. Produce is always fresh. Good selection of food and snacks. Always come to TJ for my charcuterie needs.
