KRANK BK is a small family friendly kind of gym. The current members, whom come from all different walks of life, get together each day for an hour and DO WORK!!!!!!! Size, age, race, and experience level does not matter at KRANK BK...and I love that! I am fortunate to have found such a great environment to work out in. I enjoy it because there is such great positive energy... people actually push each other... motivate each other... want to see each other succeed. I am an avid runner and was looking for something to help me become faster and stronger at the sport and I can honestly say KRANK BK has helped me become that. The trainer, Daniel Salazar, is really one of a kind. He definitely knows his stuff. He trains us daily on the workouts and educates us on technique and nutrition. He makes them fun where one day you can be swinging kettle bells or weights, and the next day racing laps around the block! He has us pulling tires, jumping tires, swinging ropes, doing pushups, or burpees.... (Come on... who doesn't LOVE burpees!!!). The point is he incorporates all kind of things and challenges each day as to keep it fresh and fun! Everyone works out together and if need be, he modifies the workouts based on personal experience, as to make everyone feel included and comfortable. He knows how to push us to our full potential and at times beyond...to the point where we surprise ourselves! I can honestly say I learned to do pull-ups at KRANK BK!!! Members have actually transformed in the 10 months since I've joined and it's truly amazing to see. I can honestly say it's changed my life in so many ways. I love this space! I have had a hard time finding a gym that would mix both good safe training with a friendly family style atmosphere. Dan does an amazing job of making you feel good about who you are and gives you the correct training to help you reach whatever goal you want to achieve. I have trained at equinox and had their top tier trainers work with me and found it lacking.. I got tired of paying tons of money to have someone throw me on a treadmill or give me a half ass workout... most trainers, it seems, are just going threw the motions and don't care about what they are doing.. I can only guess that the sports gyms have beaten them down.. I don't know.. the Krank team has true excitement and joy about what they do.. it is infectious the way they talk and the way they keep you motivated! You can tell their whole hearts are in it and it shows with the level of dedication and respect the clients show. My work day is crazy and there is no real set schedule so I wake up at 4am and drive an hour to go see Dan and train with him.. I am not a gym rat and I am not in crazy good shape, I am normal like you, however I know that the path they have me on is what I need to get in better shape, and I know Dan and his team can deliver it safely and effectively while still making it fun... thus my but getting up at 4 am to drive down an hour and workout.. I've been attending on and off since 2014. Have tried so many gyms but I just can't find one like krank! Krank is a family. You enter the door and you feel the joy of the trainers. (looking forward to working your behind off! Trainers are very friendly if you have any questions or concerns they are always there to help you.I joined krank when I saw a friend of mine gain muscle and lost so much weight . So I had to try it for myself. In the beginning it's hard but what isn't until you get used to it . When I first started I could not do one push up , within a few weeks I was able to do 10 non stop and the progress continued. Trainers monitor your progress so when you reach levels wanted they also celebrate with you! I recommend krank to any one , beginners, or advanced . It's easy to commute to , trainers are amazing , atmosphere is always positive , and you go in and feel glad you spent a few moments of your busy day. Not one day will you feel any sort of regret. I've been coming to Krank since it opened- October 4, 2010- and I felt like a better ME. Unfortunately, I stopped going in November 2013- BIG MISTAKE!!!!I- returned in April 2014 and felt like CRAP. My excuse for not going those couple of months.. "the cold winter weather was too harsh".. B/S.. when I think about it- was that a good enough of an excuse? No!!!- I returned in April 2014 and am not where I want or COULD have been. I am capable of more.. of strength (which is more then just looking "skinny"- a.k.a.. what the media portrays in magazines- like, who says their word is god? FOH!!) I want to be STRONGE and have a BOOTY and that is what Krank BK is going to give me! It's not just about working out with a bunch of people in a class setting- friendships grow here!! I've been going to gyms for 10 years now. No gym is like Krank. Unlike in most other gyms that offer group training, Krank coaches know what they're talking about and pay attention to you. When my form is whack, they help me fix it. When something hurts, they modify the exercise. When I wanted to lose weight for summer, they'll helped me do it. When I decided to compete in powerlifting competitions, they helped me medal in every single one. Krank coaches will learn your name, your goals, and help you overcome your weaknesses. And, they offer their highly personalized training for less than you'd pay for a personal trainer, or at most group training facilities. But better than all of that, Krank is like family. Going on 3 years + and all I can say is that Coach Dan and his team have been a huge support to my transition and knowledge in fitness. Not only with myself but with many of the Kranksters coach Dan has done a remarkable job in guiding us to better lifestyle in eating, nutrition, and fitness. Krank Brooklyn claims to be the best gym in Brooklyn. Honestly, I believe it's the best gym in New York City. What makes it so special are the owner, Dan, and the trainers, Chris and Miguel. All of them are focused on helping you understand your goals and achieve them. They're constantly looking after you correcting movements and pushing your limits beyond what you think is possible. Classes are never the same and regardless of their intensity are good for trained people as well as for those who haven't exercised in a long time (like me when I started). The energy in the gym is fun and positive. It's like being in a big family where everybody - fat or skinny, lazy or unstoppable - respect and help each other. Also, the music played is entertaining. Omg best place ever never met a person like Danny he got me into shape fast! The methods that he used were second to none. I've done weight watchers, home videos and everything else, all a wast of money. The most important thing I gained form this program is the understanding I that this is a process and I deserve to be able to change my life. The dynamics of the gym allow for all expert coaches to work with each individual member to cater to their particular goals. All of Krank's trainers are well rounded and they genuinely care about my progress.
