I have been seeing Dr. Kramer for several years and think is is a very good doctor. He has gotten my diabetes under control as well as my blood pressure and weight. Everything he has prescribed me has always worked and he knows his stuff really well. He has a dry personality and bedside manner that some people are turned off by, however, I think he is very funny. Dr Kramer is not your typical Dr but he knows what he is doing. Usually, he has a medical student examine you, then he comes in and works with you. The patient does have a certain duty to tell his or her physician what is going on. I do that with Dr. Dramer and he follows up on it at the time in the office. I have been on fewer medicines for years as a result of working with him. I also find that anyone he refers me to is listed as the best in their fields. I would hate to think of having to find someone else. The office is a little quirky but I can deal with that to get such excellent medical care. read more

Its a shame I have to give Dr Kramer a 1 star review - but here it goes as to why. I have been seeing Dr. Kramer for years. He is definitely hit or miss when it comes to being on time; one time I waited for an hour in the room and he finally came in saying he had a problem with his printer that he had to fix first. Um, okay ... numerous other times the staff did not refill my prescriptions on time, numerous phone calls later to them, they finally fixed the issue. The FINAL straw tho is I had an appt yesterday with him at 11:15 am. I travel 35 mins to see him only to find out his office door is locked, no lights on except for one above the receptionist desk - there were NO notes on the door as to what was going on. I even received a text the day before for me to confirm my appt. with him. I called his office, only to be automatically put on hold via a computer and I waited for 20 mins with no answer. I finally left - I had to call my insurance company to get a new PCP as my annual physical was due and so were certain prescriptions. Thankfully I am able to get into a professional office with a doctor on staff that will be my new PCP. I hope nothing health-wise is going on with Dr. Kramer, but someone should have notified his patients. So on that note, he no longer is my doctor and I hope he is okay. read more

I find it hard to believe the reviews on here! I have been a patient at this office for many years! And most of the reviews are simply full of it! Here it is in short: a dr who does not care, has no bedside manners, doesn't even look at you. He is too busy typing on his computer to as much as check you! Staff that is unfriendly and incapable! Shows absolutely no care in the world. Here is my long story: I have been going into this office for years now. I don't go often, maybe a few times since I was a teen. I'm fairly healthy and I don't like medication unless necessary. I have grown accustomed to the Rude, careless staff and learned to just smile it off. I also learned that the first thing dr. Kramer will say to me is "what's wrong with you today?!" Even if I was not in his office for over a year. I learned to laugh off the outrageous comments he makes and just roll with the punches. This year I have been struggling with something I have never experienced before. My ophthalmologist said I need an MRI or MRA and so I made an appointment with dr Kramer. To get a referral for the MRI. This was over two months ago! The office "referral" officer is an inch away from winning the academy award for worst acting office personnel. Not only have she not done her job, she messed up over 4 times now costing me precious time! The first time she filed, took over a week for me to finally reach her, and all she said was it was Denied by the insurance. Same with the second time. I was starting to give up, only my symptoms got worse and new ones appeared. I made a second appointment with dr Kramer after I had few scary situations. He told me I was denied the MRI for lack of information, and I need to allow his office to get the notes from the ophthalmologist. He kept telling me it was my fault for not allowing the info to be released. Even worse, he kept telling me I was not experiencing what I knew I was! Even then I was still sticking with this office and DR. Disappointed but still moving forward. I called the ophthalmologist who informed me these papers are signed are ready to go, that no one requested anything and that they will fax these notes to my dr right away. Again, I couldn't reach the "referral" officer at highland medical, who never called back! So a few days later she finally picked up and informed me she did already file and I was once again denied. I thought this was it. I asked her "what was the reason they denied the mri this time?" Can you guess.... she didn't file it with the ophthalmologist notes. This was the 3rd time she did this, not even looking to see why I was denied! So then she said she will do it again with the notes she was faxed the week before. I waited on the line to make sure she checked and the fax actually came in, so I now knew she had the notes! And so a few more weeks go by, I keep calling, I keep leaving messages. Nothing! Finally two and a half weeks later I get a hold of her, after waiting on the line for over 20 min!! She tells me that she only sees the 3rd application and that it doesn't have the ophthalmologists notes and so it's denied. At this point I almost lost it. I kept it as nice as possible and explained I was calling about the 4th application she said she will file weeks ago.... her response?! "Oh I don't see that one, I mean let me look". She comes back on the phone with a sad lie about how she filed but never heard back and how she will file again, now! (Basically she never filed) Meanwhile I'm literally suffering from odd symptoms, that are effecting my every day life. No apology, not even trying to be nice to me. Just attitude as if I owe her something. Plain and simple the most disgusting person I have ever talked to. Her lack of empathy and her nasty way of responding alone should be a reason to fire her, lets not forget she is incapable of doing the one job she is assigned. Well I'm not holding my breath this time. I moved on to a dr who listens, who cares, with a staff who actually can do their job! And get this, with a smile! You don't have to put up with this office, there are plenty of drs out there who are more then happy to be there for you! You don't owe anyone anything, you do owe yourself a good effective health care provider! read more

I had a appointment on 1/2/20 at 10 00 AM so I arrive at 9 45 AM with my paperwork completely filled out. At 10 45 AM I am still in the waiting room so I approach the front desk politely and ask what time my appointment was in case I arrived earlier then my appointment time. I was told 10 00 AM so the receptionist goes back and says your up next. Five minutes later I am led back to a room where I wait another 35 minutes with no one saying anything ..... I would have understood a " the doctor is running behind today or any kind of COMMUNICATION .... Nada ...SO at 11 22 AM I wait patiently at the front desk and say " I"m leaving this is so unprofessional to have patients wait this long and no one on staff keeps you updated on being behind .... The summary is that I could have been better served and diagnosed by a blind monkey than I was by Dr. Lawrence Kramer and his staff. Don't get me wrong. I'm not normally one to be negative. But I have never left a place of business feeling more disgusted, useless, and violated than I did today. My experience: I made an appointment at 11:15. Showed up at 11:15. Didn't get in until 12:00. Then, my appointment with Dr. Lawrence Kramer was shorter than the time the nurse took to measure and weigh me. Dr. Lawrence Kramer cares only about getting you out as soon as you come in to make more $$$$ by seeing more patients. And patient beware: he'll try to get you to buy more stuff in the short amount of time he'll spend with you. First he tried to force a chest exam on me...then it was a flu shot. And I'm supposed to trust this guy? He doesn't even try to diagnose the problem, and then wants more $$$ by prescribing stuff that is totally unrealated to the reason why I'm there. After my experience with Dr. Lawrence Kramer, I went outside and ran into one of the workers in the building. I told her about my experience, and she asked about the doctor. I said, 'I went to see Dr. Lawrence Kramer.' She said, 'Go figure. That doctor is the worst. He only cares about the signing off on tickets.' Enough said. Take your kids, your health problems, and your medical insurance far away from Dr. Kramer at the Biltmore Medical Center on Highland. Hopefully the lull in his practice forces him to reevaluate how he treats his patients. read more

I rarely give 1 star reviews, but in this case I had no choice. I needed an appointment on fairly short notice so when I found Dr. Kramer had an opening for the next day I jumped on it. I made my appointment online via Zoc Doc. I was also able to fill out all my paperwork online avoiding a long wait at the office. Arrive at 3:30 for my 3:45 appointment. The office was filled with screaming children. The receptionist needed my ID and insurance card. I had to fill out a quick consent form which was fine. 45 minutes later I'm summoned back to Dr. Kramer office. I waited another 10 minutes in there before his PA arrived. She then proceeds to ask me every single question that I already answered online which should have eliminated this long ass process. Finally Dr. Kramer arrives at 5:00. More questions, more examining. His conclusion was that I did not have a bacterial infection. I did however have a viral infection. He prescribed a Z pack. 4 days later and I feel exactly the same. I called his office yesterday and told them what is going on. I was then told that what he prescribed won't work because I did not have a bacterial infection and viral infections go away on it's on in about 6 weeks, but the Dr. needs to see you again. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????? I asked the lady what he was going to do different on my next visit that he didn't do on the first visit. No answer. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Dr. Kramer. If you simply want to give your money away I suggest an organization like PAWS (pets are worth saving) because Dr. Kramer ripped me off and had the nerve to try to do it a second time. read more

This man knows his stuff. He is a good family doctor. He does his continuing education and research and knows the newest things, despite the fact that he is a family doctor with a very busy practice. And he doesn't complain about the American medical system, because he used to practice in Toronto and sees both sides. He's smart and he cares, although he has a somewhat gruff exterior sometimes. I'd give him a 5, except he runs late all the time because he has so many patients. On the good side, he has open wireless in his office for the convenience of waiting patients who need to work while waiting. read more

This office is just in it for the money! Dr Kramer is by far the worst doctor I've ever encountered. He should take his diplomas and certifications to the nearest restaurant and use them to dry the dishes because that is what they are worth. I dreaded taking my dad here. If you don't mind sitting in the waiting area for 2 hours before your called back, then waiting another hour in the next room, waiting for the doctor to come in, this is your place! My dad was in here almost once or even twice a week and this Dr. still couldn't remember who we were. Dr. Kramer will tell us to come back in a week then when we return he will legitimately ask us, "What are you here for." EVERYTIME! You don't have records of your patiences?! VERY unorganized of an office! My dad has regular prescriptions and this so called Dr. always denied the refill for whatever reason. I asked Dr Kramer why he allows this and his reply is, "Because you guys aren't here often enough and that's the only way I can get you to come back in". We were here almost every week!! I pointed him out on this and he quickly changes the subject. We will never be seen in this office again. I hope this helps someone to NOT use this doctor. Very impressed with Dr Kramer. He's very thorough and spends an unusual amount of time with you during your appt, not something you see much anymore. He always has a student along with him and his manner of teaching combined with his dry sense of humor is refreshing. After been show into the treatment t room, I was asakved by the assistant: 'so what is your problem today? ' i told them it wasnt a problem but i was just having some symptoms. I normally don't complain about things, but this needs to be read. All the other negative responses about "Dr." Kramer are correct. He is horrible!!I went in with a stuffed nose. Now, I don't go to doctors for little things, so when I go, there is a problem that I cannot solve. Because I used a nasal spray a couple of times for 2 days, he REFUSED to look at my nose, and said that he could not do anything for 2 weeks. I literally could not breathe out of my nose, and I felt a ton of pressure in my sinuses.You know what he did? He gave me a form to bring to Sonora Quest Laboratories to have my Cholesterol tested.I went to another doctor, and I was prescribed a steroid and antibiotic. This new doctor could not believe how constricted my nasal passage was.It's not like I was trying to score Oxycodone or Xanax. Instead of going to "Dr." Kramer, get advice from a know-it-all friend. You will be treated much better, that's for sure. Dr. Kramer is great! He has a dry sense of humor, which made me like him even more. His nurse practitioner was great too! I had to pick a new primary Doctor after having gone to the same Dr. my entire life (who is now retired) and I'm glad I made the right choice. I only needed him for a quick 2nd opinion after being misdiagnosed at urgent care, but when I got the bill I knew he kept my situation in mind and did me a favor, since I was originally told by his staff that I was going to have to pay 3x more. I hate coming here, the receptionist seems mad always, she has a rude tone and makes you feel like you are annoying her. I feel that Doctor Kramer is competent and thorough but could be a little more compassionate. His staff is extremely poorly managed. From calling prescription to the wrong pharmacy to sending me to a lab that does perform the tests requested by the doctor, from taking three weeks to send me to a specialist (I had to fax the manager the list of specialists taking my insurance and show up in the office to get an appointment) to not calling me for test results after the doctor warned me that I could be diabetic. read more

I have been going to see Dr Kramer since last year when I had to get clearance for a simple knee surgery great guy, but his staff I'm assuming his Medical Assistant has not been responsive. I called several times to get my sleep study referral and she keeps saying, "I will send it" never hear from her. I was diagnosed with a hernia in july and it is now mid-november, and I have not yet gotten into surgery due on this office's neglect to send me proper referrals. Dr. Kramer is riding a thin line of malpractice due to medical neglet. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with ANY health care practitioner.
