Dr Natasha also explains lab results through the messaging app which is much faster and more pleasant than other offices that take a "no news is good news approach." Also, the app is great. And they were also one of the few that had appt availability within the week. They do use residents and nurse practitioners, so sometimes you will see them instead of a dr. But I have felt confident in their assessment, diagnosis, and care. Plus, the resident is working under a doctor who will double check the diagnosis. And the nurse practitioner will also sometimes pull in a doctor to confirm her diagnosis. I like that they are pretty prompt with appointments (I always get taken back within 10 minutes of arriving) and when I had to get a blood test done, it was easy to just walk across the hallway to do it. I will probably use this clinic as my primary care office in the future bc of the ease and availability of making appointments.

I am really picky about my health... I'll only see female doctors, I'll only see somebody who is experienced and certified/licensed in the specialty... I'll usually only see somebody who is around my age and who has a stellar academic record. I'm pretty demanding. I found this place when I first moved to AZ in 2012, and made it my medical home. My regular PCP is here (Norgaard) but from time to time she's unavailable and I'll see another doctor (usually Gwisdala or O'Malley). If I call and need to be seen the same or next day, they're usually able to get me in with a resident who is supervised by one of the attending physicians I am usually seen by, anyway. Bobby (another reviewer) points out that they do a lot of referrals. That's definitely true... but here's the thing. My PCP is an internist - she specializes in overall wellness... she isn't an expert on every aspect of every organ system and disease. I'd much more prefer she tell me she is unsure but that she knows where to get the answer than I would she render inadequate or inappropriate treatment. These people are so remarkably compassionate, understanding, patient. I have some pretty serious health issues and some that I blow way out of proportion, but they listen all the same. Not only that, they take me seriously and they really care. That's the part that blows my mind... it's not just about the payor source - it's about the person. I have had private insurance, AHCCCS, and no insurance and been seen at this office and treated with respect, dignity, and compassion every single time - without fail. THIS is what healthcare is supposed to be like. My physician and I are a team, and I seriously couldn't ask for a better teammate. If you want to go to the doctor, have everything fixed, and get mediocre-at-best care, go to a family doctor... they're first-level providers. They're not bad, by any means, but they're they're to keep you well and make sure you don't die before you have to. If you have a potentially complex medical history, you're going to need something more... this place provides that, and they do a damned good job.

I am always the one calling her staff to move the ball along. She usually drops the ball. No one is paying ME for being on Hold, having to explain everything all over to a new staff member. It's very frustrating. As much as she laughs and smiles, I don't think she actually gives AF about any of her patients. I get MUCH MORE done thru my local Naturopathic MD. NOW I've come to find out that Banner Internal Medicine has not bothered to call in their IT team to find out why their communications to BCBS/CVS/CAREMARK are not going thru ... EVER. Surely many of their patients have BCBS/CVS/Caremark and are having trouble with calls and faxes going thru. Yet everyone there has been coached to claim they have no knowledge of the problem. So I did a simple Google search and found TONS of info about their inability of Banner Internal Medicine to comm with CVS/Caremark. She gonna get FIRED.

To make a long story short, here is are bullet points of what occurred: 1) Reached out to OM to ensure they accepted the new insurance plan I was considering. I was told by TWO different employees that they accepted it. 2) I used this insurance to see my doctor several times over a health concern. 3) Received a bill stating I would need to pay all out of pocket because OM didn't accept my plan. 4) Reached out to various departments at OM asking about this. After several attempts and many delays in getting someone to respond, I was finally told to speak to the office manager. 5) Office manager informed me they would look into it and see what could be done. Few weeks went by, no response. Reached out various times and finally heard back from a new office manager who told me she would look into the issue. 6) Several more weeks went by and still nothing. Left messages and emails and after about 4 months of this, was told I would need to speak to my insurance since they couldn't help me. 7) Due to the amount of time between having received the initial bill and finally being told I need to figure it out myself, I asked for them to please not send the bill to collections since I am very aware that medical offices will quickly take this route. 8) Was informed that they had already sent me to collections and there was nothing they could do about it and didn't even try to make it right by offering to refund my membership or anything else. 9) Had to pay the full bill through a collection agency which has now affect my credit all due to their staff being incompetent.
