They offer a decent list of drinks and they do have slushie machines with speciality flavors. We tried the wings, fries, dips and brownies and everything was delicious. This takes you through several different fun games that you can play in a box like area with your friends and everything is given identifying wristbands so the game knows who is who. Wear comfy shoes because you will be running around during these games and since you are likely to get slashed with paint if slimed at the end then also wear comfy clothes that you may not mind getting a little paint on. All of the staff were great and pleasant. Very helpful in explaining the games of anyone was confused or anything like that. The only downfall is that maybe the AC was broken in the main area because it was hot inside and with running around- it made us even hotter.

I overheard him speaking to one of the favorite and well known skate instructors with a nasty tone. During this same visit he got snappy with me as well. MUST'VE WOKE UP ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE BED. I heard many complaints about how he runs out on the rink floor policing in an aggressive manner. He also has passed this behavior on to his Saturday afternoon skate guard. Customer service everything these days. Skating is supposed to be a therapeutic and safe place. I've tried many times over the last few months to visit this place but I do believe this is my last visit. I'd rather drive to Laurel and be treated with respect.

I was fortunate to be invited to both an American Heart Association Event and another later event by Disney Association. The Heart Healthy event was about healthy living, healthy eating and cooking. It was illuminating, informative and entertaining. I think the audience was greatly impacted by the concept of the ability to change, for the better when one decides to change one's mind toward healthy choices and living. The food provided for lunch was healthy and delicious. The second event, was presented by several people who work for the Disney Corporation, including Hulu, Nat Geo, and other Disney executives. They spoke on about their positions, their experiences and recruiting opportunities to encourage continued diversity within the company. We also did a screening of the latest documentary about Hurricane Katrina. A truly amazing documentary, directed by young and gifted filmmaker. It was a wonderful event, very informative and enlightening. The HQ DC House, is definitely a place that encourages dynamic dialogue and discussion, provides excellent food and a wonderful atmosphere for these events.

I've played on several public courts throughout the city, and Banneker's are in good shape. Nets up and minimal cracks. I've heard other times it is quite busy at Banneker, so I've never tried to come. The courts are a ten minute walk from the U St. Metro.

The courts are well maintained, seems like it was recently resurfaced. The nets are a little bit worn out and ripped on some courts. There's a tennis wall for those folks playing alone and trying to improve a stroke. The only problem I have is daaaa weeeeeeed (Stephen A reference, lol). I've been to these courts and the side I go on always tends to have one or several people smoking weed. It's tough to play a competitive match while you feel like you're getting high from the cloud of smoke. Aside from the weed, I'd recommend these courts for tennis and there's also a lot of enthusiasts that I'm sure would be interested in connecting for a game. -ODL Follow my IG: @AOEAT

There is only 1 lap lane so there are probably other DC pools that are more suited for serious swimmers. The women's locker room facilities are functional and spartan but clean. The lifeguards are nice and they sometimes play fun music. It's a multi-generational crowd and the usually the atmosphere is pretty chill. My only complaint is that some families with young kids leave food wrappers and food crumbs all over the chairs and deck. It's gross because stuff sometimes end up in the pool. Food seems to attract birds and yellow jackets. That being said, overall, it's a great pool to have in the neighborhood.

Alternatively if you are walking heading north on Wisconsin, turn right on S Street and then left into the parking lot (across from Anna Banana's). From there, walk toward the recreation center and the pool is to the right. Check-in is at the chain link gated fence. As with all DPR pools, bring your ID and you need to sign in. The sidewalk is flat and there are no steps to get to the pool area so it's easy for a stroller. The pool itself isn't as large as others, but the wide steps to get in and small shelf along one of the edges for littles to sit/stand is a plus. But it is NOT a zero entry pool, and starts at 3 ft. There is a rope at 4 ft that sections off the deeper section, and they had one dedicated lap lane that was only in use for a bit and then used by young adults to stand and read away from kids splashing. Not much shade here--one canopy covers only about one row of chairs--so it was at a premium. The bathrooms are not accessible--head around the back of the recreation center to the first red door. The girls' locker room is down the steps and boys' is up. But the locker room was clean and stocked. The lifeguards were nice and helpful. They do safety breaks at 45 mins and all kids need to get out of the pool. Also, there are no broken chairs that I saw! The pool is not pristine (cement cracking, etc) but the water was clean and guests generally respectful of one another. Pro tip: they have a big white case of pool toys at the lifeguard station (pool noodles, kickboards, etc). Plus life jackets. We had a good time and will be back!

It's a bowling alley on Joint Base Anacostia Bolling, so first of all, don't come with expectations…read morethat it is going to be like one of those crazy disco bowling alleys. This place is simple and straightforward, as bowling alleys ought to be! (Seriously the neon strobe lights at mid-day that some bowling alleys use is just sensory overload, and if you're coming with kids, you know it's best to keep it simple!) There's thirty lanes of bowling fun, plenty of balls in stock, a friendly staff, and clean shoes. I'd say that hits the mark. 4 stars because it's everything you need at a great price. It's $2 to bowl a game/person, and $2.75 to rent shoes. Dare you to find a better deal in the DC area. The food isn't spectacular but again you shouldn't be expecting anything Tom Sietsema would write home about. We've gotten snacks here before and really I'd only recommend 1) beer and 2) sweet potato fries. There are leagues that bowl here so make sure you call in advance to make sure there are open lanes!

I knew this bowling alley was going to be boring, just based off the location. First, let me say…read moreI like to party...good music...networking...etc. So this place did none of that for me at ALL. It was supposed to be Cosmic bowling. They played all genres of music, but back to back. No mixing it up...just all rock n roll together, all rap together, all country together...you can see where this is going I'm quite sure. Also the music was loud...I mean extremely loud, where I almost had to use sign-language to speak to the person right next to me. Next on to the food. I have never been to a bowling alley...where the menu had no prices. I mean like WTH...so we ordered a half a pound of wings....when I picked up the order there were 6 wingetts in the basket. Just 6 little lonely wings. Now the pizza.. So since we were still hungry after our tick tack sized wings...we decided on the Hawaiian pizza. I knew something was wrong when the pizza was done in 3 minutes. The flavor was ok, but there was no pizza dough...it had to be crepe mix...it didnt look like pizza..you literally had to roll it up like a spring roll to eat it. I will never order that again...and I know this because I'm not going back. My suggestions: A menu with prices and better decriptions of the food...for example...Six buffalo wings instead of 1/2 pound (I know darn well they did not have a scale). That way customers are not upset when their food expectations are not met. Better music, not just a basic playlist. Tone down the volume a bit. Now if you plan on bringing you children, parents, etc this place is nice for that. Just bring your own food.

This usually means super slow service, with mediocre food. Needless to say, I was extremely blown away with the ambiance, food, and service. Ambiance: surprisingly when we went it wasn't as packed as I thought it would be. The scene was more relaxing than party central. In addition, the establishment had brand new modern furniture with cabanas and day beds. We had a nice view of the sunset Service: the service was 5 stars! Our waitress, Anaiah, was super friendly and helpful. She had a big smile on her face the whole time. She made sure we were taken good care of. Also, a shoutout to Ty for charging my phone. He offered to charge my phone as the battery was running low and he did it without a frown. Food: please keep in mind that you're eating at a rooftop pool not the Ritz Carlton. The food was pretty good considering where we were dining. I got the chicken avocado sandwich and my boyfriend got the hamburger. The burger and chicken were cooked well. The fries were crispy and delicious. I personally thought the food was priced fairly. We decided to order a bottle of rose so I can't speak for their drinks. But for four orders of food and one bottle of rose we ended up spending around $30pp (4 people total) not bad! My boyfriend and I ended up staying till around 8pm. It was such a relaxing yet fun Saturday! We will definitely be back :)
