My daughter attended a Bday party there. The theme was sweet and atmosphere fun for kids. However, the project was to paint a shirt and the staff didn't provide smocks or mention that the paint was permanent. Hence my daughter's new dress was completely ruined. When mentioning this, the staff said that they don't provide smocks and that one should know since it's a kid's party. I completely disagree. This was definitely a great place to celebrate our kid's birthday. It gives kids the opportunity to have fun with their friends on their special day and be artistically creative as well. The place is well managed and the staff go the extra mile to make things special. I also see that they have opened a number of locations so it's definitely very convenient across Long Island. I had suggested we also make candy kebabs in addition to sushi - which KH was completely Agreeable too and were totally prepared for. Had my daughter's 3rd birthday party at the bay shore location. We did the stuff-a-pet party, and it was a huge hit! The kids LOVED taking home their stuffies, dancing, the movie clip and popcorn, etc. The only thing we added was a pinata, and we chose to get adult food from outside because we could choose from more options for the same price, but everything at Krafty Hands was perfect! Kids had a lot of fun at the party. I liked that they moved the kids around to different activities every 15-20 minutes. Pizza and cotton candy was included. We brought our own cake and party favors. Staff was very good and upbeat. Facility was clean. I was a bit put off when I got the bill at the end and saw the owner's pre-printed "suggestion" that I tip the staff 15% - 20% of the cost of the party (suggested tip was well over $150 for a 1.5 hour party). We always tip staff at parties, however, I have never seen such a high amount pre-printed on the bill as a suggested sum by the owner. We paid a significant amount for the party. The owner should pay the staff sufficiently and not suggest a tip at all. read more

Had my twins 6th birthday party a couple weeks ago and it was AMAZING! Everyone was raving about it! We did stuff a pet and the kids had a ball. We've been to a lot of the same bounce place parties lately and it was so nice to experience something different. The kids were kept busy the entire time - started with stuff a pet and shirt decorating to face paint and tattoos to watching a movie clips of our choice (Descendants 3) while being served cotton candy to an incredible dance party which was customized to the music my girls liked. Came in here today with my mother who is fighting through cancer for a relaxing afternoon. The manager on duty - Zena was accommodating, had an excellent positive attitude and was very patient with us! She made us feel very welcomed and without her we would not have had such an enjoyable afternoon. We ended up spending about 2 hours here painting and glossing sculptures and designing pillowcases. She even gave us many choices for colors and sculptures we could paint. It was a lot of fun and very relaxing! Even for a 22 and a 59 year old, my mom and I were laughing and enjoying our time here. Great atmosphere and lots of fun crafts (haha get it)! They also have a large back room dedicated for children's parties. This was my 2nd time here since I came there when I was about 7 years old. We celebrated our son's 3rd birthday party at Krafty Hands Syosset. From the planning process to the actual event, Priyanka and her staff were so accomodating to my requests and did everything to make sure the party ran smoothly. They were able to pack so many activities into a 1-1/2 hour party. The kids had a blast painting their plaster pieces, playing games, dancing, pinata, etc. Everything was perfect! I gave 3 because I wasn't happy with service and lack of organization. They are in this industry I under ordered subs not enough pizzas were delivered i was so embarrassed with my guests thank goodness I brought plenty of salad left so at least they could have something they didn't know correct quantity of food that NEEDED to be order to fill up guests. I kept having to call them to confirm food order so annoying having to keep on top of that also they did t have enough invitions for me to hand out so I had to go out Ana buy they did mail me them but it was too late I needed to inform my guests about the party in plenty of time. We had to is employee bathroom because other broke. Loved the size of spaceman the different party themes they have to offer. They did apologize for things. Did hand out balloons to kids no charge they did reimburse me for invitions I bought. They did allow us to arrive early Would I go back???? Nope!!!! No!!! Hope this was helpful I did tip them because I get bad they kept maki g me uncomfortable but I did t even top 15%. And I felt bad because it was the managers and owners fault with everything going wrong not other staff members. Celebrated our son's 8th birthday here last week and it was a hit! Everyone enjoyed it from start to finish. We had taken the premium package and added a half hour to it. Our party was for 2 hours and we had kids in the age group of 3 - 9. They all enjoyed the plaster painting, tattoos, face painting and the highlight was the dance floor music and moves. The staff was great. My son loved how he had to call out each of his friends names on the mike to give the goodie bag. And....I forgot to mention that we had kept it as a surprise for our son. My daughter had a horrible experience here. An aerosol bottle of Lysol was left out in the party from. One of the other guests (a child) thought it was "party string" and sprayed it in my daughter's face, stinging her eyes. She spent the rest of the party having her eyes flushed out with water. I was hopeful that a birthday party for my 9 year old outside of our home would be a welcome stress relief but unfortunately that was not the case. We arrived at the party about 30 minutes early as it was snowing heavily so wanted to ensure we had enough time to get there safely and bring in the goody bags and cake before our guests arrived. Upon entering, one of the women gruffly told us "It's too early, you can't come in." My family stepped back to the door out of the way of the other party and the woman proceeded to give us dirty looks and speak behind her hand to her co-worker. At that point we decided to take our kids back out into the snow and to the car as I was beginning to get very angry. I received complaints from the parents of 2 of our guests that they received very rude responses when they arrived early as well. The party initially proceeded without too much event although the welcome to our guests was not particularly warm. I had to ask the staff where I should leave the gifts as opposed to other party places I have used where the staff took care of that. The most concerning event took place while the children were in the "Dance Party". As Alice D.'s review states, an aerosol bottle of Lysol was left on a table about 2 feet off the ground and was taken by one of the guests and sprayed in a child's face. I in no way condone the child's behavior but given this is a party site for younger children it is absolutely unacceptable that this kind of chemical was anywhere within reach of a child. One of the staff members was very helpful in assisting me in flushing the child's eyes with water and thankfully she is okay. When it was time to leave the party, I had to ask the staff for assistance in carrying the extra pizza, goody bags etc to the car which was parked just outside the door -- again a service I have found to be included with other party locations. I provided a tip within the range of the suggested amounts they wrote down for me on my bill (another novel experience for me at a child's party venue). I was quite dismayed to get home to find as we were unpacking the car that my daughter's presents had not been brought out to the car. As we weren't going to drive back out in the snow that evening I called the location which confirmed that they had the presents and would hold them for me for the next day. I was then called back by one of the staff who stated our house was on her way home and she kindly dropped the gifts off later that evening. This gesture was certainly appreciated -- I almost decided to skip leaving this review. I was so concerned about the Lysol being left out and wanted to make sure that this never happens again so attempted to call and get the contact number for the owner at the Jericho site. The woman answering the phone stated she was the owner and that she had been present at the party. Her response to my concern was to question why a 9 year old would confuse lysol with party string, I again do not condone the child's behavior but can assure you I would hope an owner of a children's party location would have 1. offered an apology on the day of the event if she was present 2. called to follow up on the health and safety of the child who was harmed 3. offer an apology when contacted by a concerned customer and provide the customer with information on steps/policies that will be taken in the future to make sure dangerous chemicals are out of reach of children, beyond stating that they generally store the item in a locked cabinet. I have 3 children who will certainly never be having a birthday party at Funcraft in the future and I will be hesitant to allow them to attend any parties there as well. read more
