Avoid London Construction Services at all costs. This company not only damaged and disrespected our…read morehome but also displayed a shocking lack of craftsmanship and an utter failure to complete our project.
For any who see this and may be in a similar situation, take action before they disappear by reporting them to the New Jersey division of consumer affairs, the BBB and all other applicable state agencies. Nertil Lazellari is the owner and their home improvement licenses are: 13VH08912700 (London Construction Services LLC) and 13VH12706500 for their new popup company London GC LLC.
We provided a 50% deposit in Jul, 22 for a project that entailed a roof replacement, new gutters, trim work, a rooftop deck, and a walking bridge. As we were new residents of New Jersey, we were thrilled to undertake this renovation project on our dream home. However, things took a turn for the worse when weeks turned into months, and there was little to no communication regarding permit acquisition or project planning.
The trouble began with their masonry work. They inadvertently buried all the electrical wiring that powered our backyard, along with the lake pumps that were essential for our property. This decision, especially considering that these conditions were pre-existing and that I had already paid a deposit for other electrical work, led to a year of ongoing electrical issues, subsequent repairs, and additional costs that inflicted considerable aggravation on my family. The masonry and steps that were installed are crooked, missing veneers, missing mortar and shoddy by any reasonable standard.
Following this misstep, they proceeded with the roof replacement in Nov, 22. On the second day of the installation, their PM, Lino, delivered the bad news--a startling cost escalation that should have been accounted for in the original quote. What this company does is initiate a project, dismantle existing structures, and then conveniently "discover" additional problems leaving you no choice but to pay. See other reviews by other customers.
After reluctantly providing a deposit for this unexpected roof expense that should have been disclosed upfront, the project resumed. On November 15, 2022, a true catastrophe unfolded--our entire upstairs living space was flooded due to London Construction's negligence. This deluge caused extensive damage to our furniture, which, to this day, we have not been reimbursed for.
The workers displayed a shocking level of roughness and carelessness, punching holes through our walls to the point where we could see the sky. They also inflicted severe damage to the flue of our gas fireplace, which remains unaddressed. The roof remains incomplete in several areas, the gutters were never installed, the drip edges missing and a substantial amount of unfinished or shoddy work still requires meditation and additional out of pocket expense. At all times the site was a wreck.
Fast forward to the winter of 2023--what should have been a completed project was nowhere near finished. Attempts to communicate through calls and messages into February 2023 either went unanswered or yielded cryptic responses. When work finally resumed at the end of February, the same litany of issues that had plagued the roof and masonry extended to the deck and other projects. The deck is wavy, railings are missing or never started etc..
As of September 2023, London Construction Services has not managed to complete a single aspect of the project we initiated, leaving our home in a significantly worse state than before. What should have been a pleasurable experience for my family has spiraled into an unending nightmare. I am generally reticent to compose negative reviews or disparage individuals in the trades, as the majority of contractors are highly skilled and diligent. However, it is imperative to expose and hold accountable those who engage in unethical practices, as they tarnish the reputation of the entire industry and undermine the hardworking professionals who consistently deliver quality work.
