More Details: I contacted Leo (owner) of Jordan Painting to repaint my 3,000 sqft, 3 floor house that I recently purchased but haven't moved in yet. Leo was professional, responsive and showed up for our initial walkthrough on time on a Tuesday to discuss what needed to be done. His prices were very reasonable and his crew began work the very next day on a Wednesday. Because we had movers scheduled for that following Monday. Leo and his crew rose up to the challenge and worked from 8 in the morning until 11pm at night and finished what should've been a 1 week job in 3 days time without additional cost. Afterwards certain parts of within my walls had issues where the nail head in my sheetrock was loose creating "nail pops" against the paint. Leo himself came out, drilled open holes and moved the nails and repainted and refinished all the bad sections again over a 2 day period. Excellent follow up in resolving an issue that was not his to begin with. My walls look excellent now. Because of his high quality work as well as responsibility and ownership I immediately hired him as well to refinish and restain my outdoor deck. His crew showed up early and got it all done to perfection. I cannot highly recommend Jordan Painting enough.

I did some more searching and found KD Cares and didn't believe all the good reviews and I wasn't sure the price was actually going to be any cheaper. But I called and Kris answered, on a Saturday, immediately. He asked me every question you can think of about my place like he was walking through the place in his mind. And then he gave me the price, so so much better than the competition and it was going to include everything. The ceilings, walls, closets, trims, floor mouldings, front door. He said no deposit, he pays for all the paint himself first and I just pay half the day of. Honestly it sounded too good to be true. He locked me into a date about 2 weeks out (which is fast for painters I have learned), and before the date came he confirmed with me over text about 3 times. He made sure to send me a COI with everything my building needed. He was so on top of things. The day of, he showed up 15 minutes earlier than I did, with 1 worker. They both really seemed like they actually wanted to be here and help me paint my place. It made me feel like they really were going do a great job. He brought all the paints and equipment and all the colors and finishes we're exactly what we'd specified. When he walked through the place he realized there were some areas that were darker than he expected and would require more coats to cover with the simply white I'd chosen. I told him to charge me extra if he needed and he refused. He was just letting me know. It took them 2.5 days. No delays. I even changed my mind on them for one bedroom and switched out a color after they had already started painting it a bit. In the end, Kris charged me exactly what he quoted me with the exception of $50 for the extra gallon of paint for changing the color which is perfectly reasonable. He left me all the paints and told me he'd come back if anything didn't look great. It's been a week and things are looking great. I highly highly recommend Kris and his team. It's a bit cheesy but they do really Care.

My neighbor and I had agreed to work together on the project; we live on an historic designated street, and the town of Princeton, NJ requires coordination of colors, architectural details, safe removal of lead paint, etc. We agreed to seek at least three estimates and in-person consultations for the work. Joe, the owner of Five Star, was our last consult, and afterward we agreed that if the price was fair, we'd hire his company. The price was reasonable - neither the cheapest nor the most expensive we were quoted. As soon as we received our formal estimates we sent out the required deposits - half of the total price, with the rest to be paid upon completion. Five Star is truly an owner-operated company; the owner, Joe, was onsite virtually every day of the project, directing work, and often working himself. This proved to be very necessary, because the block on which my house is situated is more like an alley - houses are very close together, parking scarce, and the neighbors are, well, very involved and vocal at every stage of the project. Joe and his crew did fine work on these old houses; they went from worn and even dilapidated, to crisply bright and refreshed. Very simply, the houses look good, but getting them there was no easy task: lead paint to carefully and safely remove; frequent repairs to old woodwork and moldings; and, importantly, keeping the neighbors informed and content at every stage of the process. In short, I was delighted with the work of Five Star - everyone at the company, from the office staff to every worker, was unfailingly polite and competent. The first project, several years ago, involved painting multiple interior rooms and crown molding. Most recently, I hired them to paint three new structural porch columns and my front door. While that may sound like a straightforward job, it really wasn't. Black structural columns are not something you see every day, so preparation, product selection, and attention to detail were critical to getting the look I wanted and ensuring the finish would hold up to the elements. Bob came out to provide the estimate. He was professional, easy to work with, and, most importantly, took the time to listen to what I was trying to achieve and the concerns I had about the project. He was also able to get the work scheduled within the same week. I worked closely with Ron, who I believe was the lead painter on the job. He was incredibly knowledgeable and detail-oriented. I supplied the INSL-X primer recommended for fiberglass columns and discussed paint options with him. He agreed with the approach and helped ensure the project was done the right way rather than just the fastest way. The work took two full days and exceeded my expectations. The crew took great care to protect my brand-new porch, covering the decking and railings thoroughly so there was no risk of paint getting where it didn't belong. What really stood out was the follow-up. Both Bob and Ron checked in independently after the work was completed to make sure I was satisfied. They also made it clear that if any issues came up, they would come back and make it right.
