On Friday I sent a follow up message in the am. No response. I called around 3 and was told by doctors Assistant that the covering physician would send over later that night. It is now Saturday, no prescription as been sent. Guess I'll call again on Monday. 8/14/22 Update They do not answer messages on the portal. They do have a new answering system that forwards call to their doctors assistant to leave a message but still no call backs. I do not understand why communication is so difficult for this company. I would love to change my primary provider; however, initial visit wait times are close to a year for other faculties. Guess I am stuck for now. While my doctor is amazing, the office staff is outrageously rude and abhorrent. When calling for any reason expect to be on hold for 20-50 minutes. When they finally get around to answering your call they will then immediately hang up on you. When you call back, should you be so lucky to get someone on the phone, if you complain about the hold/hang up, they will rudely explain it is their automated system, not the office. They have had this "automated system" for about 4 years now. I have been complaining about it for four years. No wonder they have such low rantings. They must not care about their outdated, useless technology, or are hiring shit staff. It should not take less time to drive to my doctor's office, visit the staff, drive home, then it does call waiting

Nothing but trouble with this practice. Ever since joining, it's never simple to see the Doctor…read more Keep in mind, I HAVE NEVER actually met with the Doctor but rather his NPs/PAs. That is fine as long as I get quality care, but it's a hassle to be seen at the office, before and after they switched to Village MD. My experiences soured starting before COVID, where I had a phantom appointment no one called me about and then received a letter for a $65 cancelation fee. After weeks of speaking with various folks, they removed the fee as a 'courtesy' and 'updated my phone number (which was correct in the first place). Now, I sit having been canceled on three times in a row including a phantom appointment. The first blowoff occurred when I appeared for an appointment listed on both my phone and work calendar - neither of which was apparently the right time. I was told 'we may have rescheduled, but we don't know'. Fine, mistakes happen. Second was a call a day before my appointment where the NP I normally see (again, never seen the MD) quit. I understand and reschedule, and get told the MD doesn't see patients and I would need to see another NP. Today, I go in for that visit only to be told 'you don't have a visit today, we canceled it yesterday'. No one called me again, and they expect me to continue this exercise? I found out they became part of the Village Medical family over the summer. Do yourself a favor and avoid this poorly run practice. I think they only want to do telehealth visits.

She greets me like I'm an old friend she hasn't seen and remembers everyone in my life and always asks about them. I never feel rushed with her, she always wants to hear, even if I'm complaining, explaining, or simply conversing about non- medical issues. And she remembers the conversations the next time I come and asks about them. I have never had a doctor like this before. I imagine this is how doctors used to be in the olden days. Granted, her old office with Dr. Deluca was cramped and scheduling was pretty terrible and I'm not sure why that was. Going to that office always had me disgruntled, but in the end, I couldn't give up on my doctor. I'm glad I didn't. She moved to a new location with her brother (also a doctor) and I have not witnessed any scheduling issues since. My advice Dr. Van? Don't change. You're perfect!

Unfortunately, it is really the luck of the draw in terms of the care you will receive. I have had truly stellar care given to me or family members at this facility over the years, for which I am truly grateful. (Including the time I ended up in an ambulance headed to the hospital because it turned out that my nausea and abdominal discomfort were appendicitis.) I have also had "medical professionals" who were condescending, dismissive, and made me regret ever crossing the threshold. There really ius no way of predicting what you're going to get in terms of both bedside manner and care. So, understand that you are rolling the dice and be at peace with that, or find another facility.
