My Aussie Doodle Charlie, loves this place. I wish I could afford to bring him more often for socializing. The place is perfect. My dog comes home with great satisfaction. He can't wait to jump out of the car and run to Heidi or Natella. This place is the best.... Sincerely, Charlie, per Darlene Garey read more

HEADS UP!! I was turned away because of "breed restrictions". I was told it was because of insurance policies but plenty of other daycares are open to all breeds and rely on behavior assessments to make sure the dog is the right fit. I had filled out their "Contact" form, indicated that my dog is a "doberman mix", and they immediately declined me. I had heard such great things about Meadows so this is incredibly disappointing. Nothing on their website says anything about breed restrictions and the woman on the phone indicated that there are multiple breeds they do not accept (she did not elaborate on which)! I obviously never would have inquired about services if I knew. read more

I love Canine Meadows and they have added a groomer. Somehow, the scheduling gets mixed up. You may have an appointment and you may not. My dog misses Canine Meadows but it is hard to speak to someone about a problem and straighten it out. Heidi is great. Miss all of you. Grover read more

The Meadows is close to our home, but I would gladly drive farther to leave our dog. He has been going 1-2 times weekly since he was 6 months old. It is very different from a facility we used for our previous dog in southern CA, so it took me a while to get used to it. They are far more protective of the dogs which is probably very good. Our dog had a fair amount of anxiety, but he loves everyone a Camp Canine and goes willingly. We also had to board home for a night or two unexpectedly when my husband had a heart attack. They accommodated us easily and were so kind. I have no hesitations making recommendations. read more

Our sweet shepherd mix loves this place-it is her second home! Plenty of room to roam, very attentive staff. We feel super confident that when we leave our sweet girl at The Meadows she is loved and cared for there. read more

Before I even got my pup I researched various daycare/ boarding facilities within 45 minutes of our home. It was immediately clear upon meeting the owner, Heidi and seeing both the beautiful grounds and facility that this was the place for my girl. I was also impressed with how Heidi assessed and interacted with my pup. Mia has been going to the Meadows regularly since she was six months old for both daycare and boarding. She's very attached to me but will go happily off with one of the wonderful staff members, tail wagging away. I know she is well cared for, safe and happy while I am away and love the small group size for each caregiver that allows more attention. read more

Max and Winston have the best play days at the Meadows! Heidi, Lana and their team are great with these two high energy boys! The facility is very clean, with a variety of play areas for all dogs. This is the place to go if you want the best for your fur babies! read more

Love this place. Rudy and I take our puppy Enzo there to help him expend all the energy. It is a beautiful place. Thanks to all the animal lovers there. read more

Horrible place. Will never recommend owner just brushes off actual reviews by saying your dog never went to this place. My dog was definitely there and very scared of the owner for an odd reason and it doesn't sit right with me. read more

DO NOT bring your dog here seriously. The owner is nuts for sure, and the decisions they made with my dog when I left him there for an entire week were awful. They literally called me when I was across the country and told me I had to come get him because he was crying. Who does that? My friend recommended them because she took her dog there.....not the best advice. Good luck to those of you that brave this place. read more

My two dogs love this place! When we arrive for drop off they race for the office door and don't look back. I appreciate the complete care they get at Meadows. Heidi, Lana and the entire staff understand dogs and create a fun, safe place for them to day play, thrive and board. read more

The Meadows Canine Camp - Pet Training Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

Our dog, Bodhi, absolutely loves going to The Meadows! Truthfully, he kind of hurts my feelings because he really doesn't want to leave. He's such a social guy. He loves his doggy pals and his people friends, too. Thank you Meadows folks for giving him such a safe and fun place to be. read more

Our dog has been going to the Meadows once a week since he was 7 months old. He is now 3 years old. He doesn't like the Meadows - HE LOVES THE MEADOWS! My biggest fear is he is going to break our car window because he can't wait to get out of the car and go play. He loves Heidi, Lana, and the whole staff because they are all caring, friendly, and very patient. We also board him occasionally, and we never worry about him. We know he is in good hands. read more

Meadows Canine Camp is a spa resort for dogs. Approaching the front entrance always makes me feel so secure knowing my dogs are safe, well monitored, and most importantly, spoiled. My dogs love going to "pretty school," as they know it. Heidi is amazingly wonderful and we love her. read more

My pup, Scout, loves his visits at Meadows - similar to what others have written, he gets out of the car and runs into the office, doing a jump for joy at the door if Heidi or Janie doesn't open it quick enough for his taste! He loves his days and occasional nights at the Meadows and comes back home tired and satisfied with all the care and play he gets there. I am so, so happy The Meadows has reopened - Heidi, Janis and the entire crew love Mr. Scout as much as I do so I never worry about him when he is there. Thanks so much, Heidi, Janis and all the Meadows crew! read more

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience here with our pup. There was a lot of very poor and confusing communication. Additionally, there was numerous events of misleading information. This establishment doesn't really seem to understand how to deal with dogs who have anxiety. Instead of being willing to work with us and our 10 month old puppy who we are trying train, they dropped us because it was "not the right time in my dogs life." I guess my question is to them; if not now then when? I've never heard not to train my puppy and wait until they are an adult. But I hope others have a better experience, but we will not be recommending this doggie daycare to anyone. read more

After rescheduling twice, and trying to stick my dog in a mobile groomer this place SHAVED MY DOG EVEN THOUGH I EXPRESSLY SAID NOT TO!!! The owner is crazy, made my wife cry, and when I asked her why they shaved my dog she said: "I don't care about you, its about the dog. We didn't have time to groom her out so we shaved her." Its a beautiful location with a good website, but that's where the good ends. Venture elsewhere unless you want a traumatized dog with no hair... read more

I highly recommend this place. The staff and owner are all very friendly and professional. They handled my challenging situation with my puppy very well. They treated my dog without any judgement. They will also give you tricks on how to take care of your dog. They are soooo willing to help you and your dog. I'm really happy with their service. I wish I could take my Dusty back to them after giving him proper training somewhere else. KUDOS to all the staff and owner!!! Thank you for all your patience and understanding. read more

The care for the dogs appears to be top notch. They have a lot of space to hangout in. Booking appointments is fairly straight forward through email usually, or over the phone. The rates are pretty fair for the area. I had one fairly large issue come up, it was handle pretty well and resolved within a day. I still choose to use them because of the way it was handled. Based on my experience with Heidi and some of the other reviews I can say that it is sometimes hard to talk with her. I think she speaks dog better than human. I can say it doesn't seem to have any intention of being rude, it just comes off that way. If you can get past that, she can be helpful and the rest of the staff is also very friendly. read more

I highly recommend the Meadows Canine Camp! I put my beloved doggie in their care weekly. Since my doggie has been going to the Meadows Canine Camp, he has become less apprehensive around other dogs and people. My doggie receives attention from the friendly staff and enough romping round that he is ready for a long nap when I get him home. The staff at The Meadows Canine Camp is friendly and knowledgeable and I trust he is in tip-top care. Heidi, the owner, is wonderful. I have learned so much from her about doggie behavior and best practices of care. My doggie is like my child so only the best for him! read more

I bring my dog every work day because I have a job with long hours. We love the Meadows. Never an issue. Heidi and the crew are great and obviously care about the dogs. Brutus is always super excited to go each and every day and he comes home tired. :) When we go on vacation, we leave him there as well because we know he is loved. I can't recommend the The Meadows enough. read more

This is the best place by far...not only in Sonoma County but all of the bay area!! I do rescue and raise pups for CCI...animals are my passion and my Kobe's comfort is as important to me as anything..I never have to worry when i leave him...in fact, he WANTS to go!!! they are compassionate, learn what the dogs individually like to do and they know what they are doing. Heidi is awesome and i wouldn't leave my dog anywhere else...and before i discovered The Meadows, I would drive to Marin to get the best place for my pup...Meadows have surpassed even them!!!!! read more

Best place for dogs in all of Sonoma County

Almost didn't check out The Meadows because of the unfavorable remarks about Heidi, but I needed a place for my dog to stay and our experience with Paradise Pet Resort was definitely not a fit. So glad I decided to find out for myself -- the Meadows, and Heidi, are WONDERFUL! My dog requires special kindness, and Heidi understood her from the start. The staff is also the best. Thank you! read more

This place is great and we are crazy for our dog. We know we think our dog is special and we feel they treat him that way. They know him by name and I love the fact that I never hear a bunch of barking dogs. We have had the bad experiences so were really nervous. We drop him off more that I thought we would because he is happy at the end of the day and I do feel guilty if my work day was longer that expected. Over night is reasonably priced and care is next best thing to home. read more

Buddy LOVES The Meadows and would it more than five stars if he could. when I drop him off he just runs in and doesn't even turn around to say goodbye. It's a little hurtful, but it shows me that they take great care of him since he's so happy to be there. read more

Amazing care for your dog. Everyone is extremely attentive and courteous. Very easy to schedule an appointment, and they are so flexible if you need to extend the stay. Heidi is great and really knows about and cares about dogs. I was taking my dog to another kennel that is right down the street from my house. Very convenient, however I will never take my dogs anywhere but The Meadows even though I have to travel across town to get there! Can't say enough great things about The Meadows! read more

I can't say enough good things about this kennel! I have always been very nervous about leaving my dog at a kennel because she is so attached to me and has separation anxiety but when I leave her here I feel like I'm leaving her in great hands. The facility is like a dog paradise, and there are always plenty of dogs for her to play with. The staff is wonderful with dogs, and they really know what they doing! They have even given me a few training pointers. I moved to Windsor but still go out of my way to drive my dog here for both daycare and kenneling. HIGHLY recommend! read more

Wonderful groomer. Angie listens to what you want done and does it. Best groomer I've ever used

This place is horrible, I would never recommend or leave my dog there. For starters, I would think at 9am dogs would be out playing or at least you would hear them?? Nope. The owner Heidi expressed judgement upon my dog in comparing him to one that she has a lawsuit with, Guinness. I went for a preview and they immediately tried to take my dog from me without me even giving a tour or looking at my vaccinations. The owner, Heidi is a complete nut job and rude. I would never feel comfortable and would never leave my dog there. Very unfortunate because the location is ideal for me. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

If you are looking for a kennel that puts the health and happiness of your dog first, The Meadows is your place. Yes, they screen individual dogs ahead of time and they turn dogs away they believe are not compatible with the others, but that is exactly what I want for our dog and all the many others who are happy and healthy day in and day out at The Meadows. The owners and the employees treat and interact with the dogs like their own. They are proactive when it comes to taking measures that protect the health of the client dogs. The bottom line is that our dog comes home happy and therefore so are we. read more

All I can say is that our dog loves this place and we would not hesitate to recommend this kennel for boarding or daycare period. We've been going here for years and have never had a problem, nor a complaint, except from our dog who always wants to stay longer. ;) Incidentally, before the Meadows, we took our dog to Paradise Pet, DairyDell and Olivet kennels and we wouldn't knock them, but they weren't for us. The difference between them and The Meadows is how happy our dog is to go there and how we never have to worry about him when he is under their care even though he has specific health issues. Also, I want to mention that I have never reviewed on Yelp but I am doing so after reading the negative reviews of Max B and K-Bizzle (fo shizzle?) and their comments about Heidi (note that the dates of both reviews are on the same day...hmmm). Anyway, I just wanted to get the word out that there have been a lot of haters of this business from the beginning and after attending all 3 public hearings, I wouldn't put it past some people with an axe to grind, to write a really negative review. People do it all the time all over the internet. My advice is to see for yourself, your dog will be glad you did! read more

I can't speak to the grooming here because I had to take my dog home early. The owner Heidi is crazy and has a limited sense of reality. She is incapable of communicating with her clients professionally. From the moment I drove into the parking lot, she had a scowl on her face and kept telling us that she had a lot of dogs to deal with that day. She was rude and short with us. Later, I received an emotionally charged phone call from her after she couldn't get in touch with my husband, and wouldn't allow me to speak. I am a very reasonable person, but she kept interrupting me as I was talking and was so angry that she told me she didn't want to talk about it and ended the conversation like a 2 year old in a tantrum. I decided to take my dog home mid-grooming. She probably cares about animals, but I hope she realizes that it's her attitude, rude and unprofessional behavior that will make me never return here again. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone if you have to deal with her. read more

My dogs have come to the Meadows for over three years now, both for play care while I work as well as to board. For them, it is their second home. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and caring and always quick to check in with questions and concerns. It has been a terrific fit for me and my dogs. I can't imagine taking them anywhere else! read more

It doesn't get better than this. Heidi, the owner, is the most extraordinary human being. Her gentle care of customers (humans and dogs) is unparalleled. One can learn how to behave in this world by being around her. The facility itself is fabulous, as is her staff. It's calm, quiet and the dogs have a great time. They even have a pool. Excellent groomer and a variety of other services. If you have a dog and need either daycare or boarding -- you can't leave your beloved friend in a safer and better place. Very highly recommended. read more

My Gracie loves, loves the Meadows. Gracie is a rescue dog and needed help with socialization. Heidi Nieman, took the time over a 2 month period of time to work with her. All of the staff are fabulous. They are so caring, and are always happy and excited to see my Gracie. Now, my Gracie has a few things to say...."Hi, my name is Gracie Marie. I was about 2 1/2 years old when I came to live with my mom. I was very frightened of everything and most everyone. Well, my Mom decided we should try to help me like other people and other dogs. I met Heidi and all the really nice people that work there. They were all so kind and patient with me. Well, I love everyone there and have met some nice dog friends. When my mom had to go away for a week, I even had sleep-overs there, and had a slumber party with 2 of my dog friends. I get so excited when I get to go play there. That's about it from me." After three stays we know, absolutely, that the Meadows Kennel, in Santa Rosa, is THE best, hands-down, no doubt about it. Our dog always is delighted to go to the Meadows and he shows his comfort level. Like everyone with a dog that they care about and love you want the best for your friend when you have to use a kennel. The folks at the kennel are dog oriented and dog concerned. Their actions and comments show it! They know and understand dogs and they know how to care for your dog. Booking a reservation is easy. The drop off comes off without a glitch. The pickup of your dog at the end of a stay is a breeze. The friendliness of every person we have encountered at the kennel makes it crystal clear that they want the stay for your dog to be a good one. If you are looking for a safe, secure and healthy place to kennel your dog make the best choice ... go with the Meadows. They are truly second to none!!! read more
