Cricket enjoying off leash fun
Caroline C.

We started training our 5 month old Yorkshire Terrier with Pat in January of 2023 and did eight weeks of sessions finishing in February and here it is May and she is still enjoying the on going training. His wife Lenora trained Cricket for the first few weeks then we had the remainder teaching her with Pat's help. Even though they normally train much larger dogs they gave us the personalized attention we needed. She heels, sits and comes when called which really were our main priorities but there is so much more that she retained. Can't thank them enough for a wonderfully trained attentive puppy. Be ready to keep up the training because to continue to benefit from the classes it's really up to you to keep the lessons going - just a few minutes a day has kept our little girl engaged and trained for months.

Janitzio laying down like a good boy!

I honestly had low expectations with my dog. After trying other dog trainers, I just thought that our 2 yr old rescue would not change. We were considering rehoming him if he did not warm up to my 7 yr old step-son that we had just gotten full custody of. But I've got to say that Lorna and Patrick did an awesome job of training him. He used to bark at EVERYTHING new. We had no control over his reaction to new things. He is a new dog now and loving towards our son. I can now take him on walks and have control of any situation that comes our way. I've had family notice how much of a changed boy he is and whatever it had costs us, was money well worth it. We even learned a few new things. The only regret I have is not doing this sooner. Trust me, it is money well spent and you will not regret it!

Saved our Dog!!! Highly Recommend!!! Absolutely Amazing!!! Background: We adopted Tucker from a rescue (approx 1 year old, border collie mix maybe) he had come from a bad situation but seemed like a sweet boy at the rescue and adorable to boot so we adopted him. For the first week he was adjusting and seemed like he was going to be just fine, a little excited/jumpy, little mouthy, no biting and no barking. By the second week, he was barking at everything jumping all over us when we came in the door and nipping at us. Then we had a friends/other dogs over this was a number of interactions over some time but to some it up between 1-2 months of having him we realized we had a BIG problem. He tried to bite every person who came into the house and attacked other dogs, he did all of this without any kind of provocation or warning. Someone would be petting him, he would be fine, then the person would get up and he would attack their feet. We decided it was time to take action. I got a referral from a friends groomer and had a trainer come in for an evaluation. After $100 and 30 minutes we were told that Tucker was a lawsuit waiting to happen (we had already had that thought) and that nothing could be done until he was put on drugs and that even then he was most likely a lost cause (and told that maybe some behavioral specialist dog trainers down in Berkley would be able to help). We were left with a tough decision and seriously considered returning him to the rescue. We had already bonded with him and knew that if he went back would encounter the same situation if he was adopted again. Summary: I went on a mission and contacted EVERY dog trainer that I could google in Sonoma County. I came across the Incredible Canine website and it looked promising, but I knew that Tucker would probably need the boot camp and that was a big investment that we hadn't planned on. As for the other trainers, I came up with nothing, I was referred to the trainer that had already said Tucker was a lost cause and somewhere else that wanted $$$ just to evaluate him, I made the mistake of paying for an evaluation once and decided that any trainer worth their stuff would not need to charge prior to providing training. After some deliberation, we took Tucker to meet Lorna and Patrick for a consultation. They evaluated him, giving him different numbers in categories that we didn't understand. Then they had me put a training collar on him and Lorna took him out and "worked" him on a leash (something else that I didn't truly understand until later). After about five minutes or so, she brought him back to the barn and said that he could be trained, but boot camp was required (3 weeks, she explained that in very rare situations an additional fourth week is required, but she was confident that this would not be the case with Tucker). We took Tucker home, thought about it and decided that we wanted to keep him; called Patrick and Lorna, set him up for their next session and put out the $4000 for boot camp. Three weeks later.... Patrick gave us specific instructions on what to do when we arrived to pick up Tucker ---I had weekly check-ins with Patrick/Lorna while Tucker was at boot camp to keep us up to date on how he was doing, Lorna does most of the training while they are at boot camp and Patrick does more of the feeding/playtime etc. (Tucker was a bit of a bully at boot camp and annoyed the other dogs and could have easily been eaten, he's all of thirty pounds and was going after a dobey, but Patrick coupled him up with another dog and he managed to get in some decent playtime).--- So we are waiting quietly when Lorna brings Tucker out (he can't see us) and she proceeds to work him in front of us (heel, sit down, etc) is this our dog? Patrick shows us the hand signals and then begins to train us on how to work Tucker. He told us that we both need to spend either 5 or 10 minutes each, working with Tucker everyday and that we will come back to see him once a week with Tucker until we are done (meaning that Tucker has gone as far as he can go). He advised us that we would need a minimum of 8 continued training sessions. I should mention that this is included in the boot camp price and we were advised of the at our initial consultation. After about 2.5 months we were done with Tucker's training sessions with Patrick. Tucker is a reformed dog he is able to walk off leash and follow all commands. It took a little bit more work at home (under Patrick's advisement) for him to be trusted around house guests but he has proven himself to be a good boy. Conclusion: I am writing this review almost a year after sending Tucker to boot camp and he is such a good boy! He has become a member of our family and we have Patrick and Lorna to thank for that. If we ever get another dog/puppy we will definitely take them to Incredible Canine for training. I can't speak highly enough about their program. Thanks Patrick and Lorna for giving us our Tucker

What a good girl !

I adopted my German Shepherd from a rescue. She had very bad manners. She'd run to people and scare them to death. She wouldn't come when called. She was kinda a mess. My daughter suggested I take her to Incredible K9. She had taken both her Belgian Malinois to Patrick and Lorna with amazing results. I took my Shepherd for evaluation and enrolled her in the 3 week boot camp. After the boot camp I continued the training with Patrick. I thought I knew dogs but after spending time with Patrick working with my Shepherd I was amazed at what I learned. His approach to training is amazing to say the least. He taught me once my dog succeeds in a command the praise follows. Soothing strokes of praise. Rylee is an amazing dog now. Follows commands and very responsive. I highly recommend Patrick and Lorna.

To say my dog has made a 180 is an understatement. I'm writing this review as I sit in a park and my Shepherd/Mix 2 year old rescue is sitting right by my side...OFF leash!! I came to Patrick and Lorna desperate for some behavioral help because my dog would lash out at other dogs, lunge out at every wildlife animal imaginable and show major signs of aggression towards humans. I knew that my dog was a sweet girl who was suffering from being a rescue and all around just scared. I made the decision to give her up for three weeks in the hands of these two and it was the best decision I could've made. They KNOW dogs and really love dogs too. When I took her home she was calmer, amazing on leash and easier to train. These two gave me all the right steps, commands and tactics to turn my dog into what she is today. I still have more training to do but I'm honestly excited to see how much more relaxed and well trained of a dog she becomes. That being said YOU need to be ready to train your dog and put in the time. Well worth the money.

Of course everyone needs to make money somehow but you know right off the bat that this is Molly's passion and purpose in life and she loves it. Her rates are fair and she goes above and beyond when working with you and your pup. My husband and I are really glad we found her to train our little yorkie. It's amazing what just a few sessions did for our dog and Molly uses all positive reinforcement for training. At our last session it was a great refresher to get us, as owners, feeling good about all our dog has learned already and how to continue to train her in the future. I feel so much more confident now after having Molly come into our home to help us than I did before we met her. If any questions were to come up, I know she'd help in any way and just wants the best for the dogs (and clients)! If you are looking for a trainer that is truly invested in your pup's best interest and working along side you (for better or worse) Molly is the one! If I had to do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat. Thank you Molly for everything!

She has been around many dogs and knows what she is talking about. Molly helped us recognize things our dog was doing and helped us correct them in a positive way. The first class went over the basics and since we are first time dog owners the principles she taught were helpful to us. It wasn't just sit and stay, there is a lot of socialization of the dogs. The jr. high class seemed to repeat some things. However, it was good for us to remember the basics and helped us be consistent. Molly also has some playgroups which were fun when it was cold out. Plus, at those playgroups she is open for questions and she corrects any misbehaving dogs (ie...mine).

When my partner and I brought home our Standard Schnauzer puppy, Baker, in 2022, we were excited to…read moretrain him to be our hiking and backpacking companion--but we quickly realized we were in over our heads. As first-time dog owners, we struggled with leash walking, recall, and general engagement (he was easily distracted and didn't seem motivated by us). We decided to seek professional help to build a stronger bond with him, instill good manners, and set us all up for success. We found Eleanor in May 2023; from the first session, her expertise and approach made a huge difference. She tailored the training to Baker's high-energy, intelligent personality (typical of a Schnauzer!) and our specific goals. Here's how she helped us tackle key challenges: Leash Walking: Baker used to pull constantly and didn't understand leash pressure. Eleanor taught us techniques to encourage loose-leash walking and helped him learn how to respond to leash cues. Now, he can walk calmly beside us when asked, even in distracting environments. Recall: Baker's off-leash reliability was nonexistent until Eleanor helped us prove his recall around distractions. Now, he checks in frequently during off-leash hikes and comes when called, even with other dogs nearby! Advanced Obedience & Off-Leash Skills: Beyond the basics, Eleanor helped us teach Baker fun and practical skills like "place" and heelwork, and she helped us achieve his Canine Good Citizen certification. It's amazing to see how much more confident and connected he is with us now. We still work with Eleanor as new challenges arise, and attending her group classes has become one of the highlights of my week! What makes Eleanor so effective is her clear communication, patience, and adaptable methods. She didn't just train Baker--she taught us how to understand and work with him. Her feedback is always constructive, and she celebrates our progress while helping us troubleshoot setbacks. The results speak for themselves: Baker is now a well-mannered, happy dog who loves training, and we feel equipped to handle new challenges as they come. We couldn't have done it without Eleanor's guidance--I highly recommend her to anyone, especially owners of clever, quirky, and spirited breeds like Schnauzers!

Well...it turns out our assumption(s) might be missing the mark. As my current Weimaraner pup came to me not long ago, she being the product of two of the top grand champions in the country, I knew that I needed to brush-up on my basic and intermediate obedience training and incorporate even better Best Practices than what I learned previously -- for all the beneficial reasons that you might imagine. Hence my dedicated and focused search for the best dog trainer I could find for my specific requirements; the location of the trainer nor their accompanying fees were not an issue in my search. Experience and skillfulness, temperament, purposefulness, pragmatism, clarity, results, integrity...all mattered more. Long story short, after much searching, effort, energy and many interviews, I found and landed on Eleanor Post to be the standout canine trainer, well above the rest of candidates, and, that decision has proven itself out over time. From moment "one", literally, it was quite evident to me (and my pup) that I was in superior hands. Eleanor immediately assessed my handling skills, and sized-up my pup, and confidently and with dedicated purpose and structure, started me on a specific, tailored, pragmatic and common-sensical approach and path, and, in doing so, reminded me of many of the prior techniques that did not merit fruit for me in the past. Eleanor incentivized and supported me on this path to, including and not limited to, examine how my own dog handling management, (ie. leash management; treating, body and attitude modeling expressions approaches, etc.) influenced and affected how my pup would behave in consistent ways - and, fabulously, she was able to illicit near immediate results with me and my pup through bonafide specific relevant and appropriate examples, all with a common-sensical, experiential, intuitive and clear and consistent and humane manner. Due to Eleanor's "training of me", and her steadfast, and unwavering commitment to targeting and promoting a fun and enjoyable, highly interesting and a range options and tips, techniques and real-life "let's do it" examples -- we made successful, wonderful, positive and upwards progress, with alacrity, that, candidly, I had never experienced before. I am here to say that I believe that, with Eleanor, I have experienced more awesome "a-ha's" in my sessions than in all the previous private and group training activities than I had experienced with other dog trainers - combined. I can testify and stipulate here and today, with utmost sincerity, that we (my pup and I) are the beneficiaries of Eleanor's wonderful, awesome regard, caring, sensitivity, direct, specific, clear, pragmatic, common-sensical, situation-specific, intuitive and forthright approach in instilling in us exactly what my initial objective was/is: Working to produce a well-mannered, well-adjusted, holistically sound, happy, vital and focused pup companion. This is a case study and example of how the energy and effort of Eleanor's vast depth of "dog whisperer" experience can assist to produce such satisfying, lasting and dramatic results that remarkably continue to exceed my expectations daily!
