We got a wonderful, silly rescue named Dolly Pawton this year from Compassions without Borders and she is simply the silliest dog. We have a sheep farm including barn cats, a border collie, Great Pyrenees, and an emotional support Maltese just for funsies. Dolly was way overstimulated with the combination of a new place, a heard of sheep, and simply nervous on how to fit into the new place. She also isn't super excited about new dogs or men- hence why we originally chose a male trainer. Over a few months Dolly has gone from intensely chasing the sheep to being able to coexist- has met new dogs- and we've gotten so many tips on how to integrate with the cats. She went from being pretty isolated in the beginning to being a part of our everyday routine (albeit leashed because our next step is an e-collar!!) the leaps and bounds that Dolly has made since coming here four months ago is so so wonderful to watch- and truly it's because Kevin has been supportive, open to a funny challenge, and accessible when I'm simply feeling nervous and need some advice. She has some pretty solid recall- and spends most of her day playing with our border collie. Everytime we watch them play I feel so grateful we reached out to Kevin and got the extra support. Kevin came out to the farm and worked with Dolly on not chasing, giving her an outlet (a flirt toy!) and met us with some new dogs so Dolly could have some exposure and positive experience. Each time has gone swimmingly and it gives my girlfriend and I the confidence to help her long term. A few years back I was bit badly by a dog which kind of rocked my confidence in handling them. Kevin is an incredible trainer! Due to my occupation, my wife and I travel often. Leaving our two dogs (one 5 year old Shorkie and one 6 year old Shih-poo) with my Mother-in-law. Although they are both small, 12 & 6lbs, they would pull hard during walks to the point one of them sprained my mother-in-laws ankle & wrist on 2 separate occasions. I have worked with a lot of dog trainers over the years and Kevin is amazing! I first met him when he worked at Petco, and we took a class on on general behavior and obedience with our one year old boxer. Kevin's ability to get your dog to pay attention and Act accordingly, almost instantly, is incredible! But then we got a rescue, no offense to her but she's crazy! Kevin was able to take our rescue who was dog aggressive and integrate her into his pack without a problem. Kevin understood the things that triggered Harley, and what we could do to help her. she became such a happier dog after spending time with Kevin. The best part was Kevin helped train us, the dog owners, which is way more important than training the animal itself. He was especially helpful when we had our first child with tips on how to transition the dogs safely to being a toddler family.
