    The geisha roll.

One of the best hibachi and the freshest sushi. The geisha roll is my favorite and the salmon sashimi is so fresh.. New York City type atmosphere excellent service. Very romantic.. I highly recommend this place. It's been here for years.! delicious

Another great experience from this place. I enjoyed the pink lady roll and Philadelphia roll. My wife enjoyed her meal also. The kids hibachi was quite big and my son really enjoyed Miso soup at 19 months old! My only downside is the charge of an additional soda. I always wait for someone to mention the additional charge but never did. So I adjusted the tip to compensate for that. I would recommend to order out to save on the drinks, but I enjoy the hibachi experience. Best in jackson.

We came here for dinner. Place isn't bad. We had rolls and they were pretty good and reasonably priced. Good portions and it's BOYB. Restaurant is very dark though. They could use and upgrade and maybe change up the decor. However, we may go back since the food it good.

This was an interesting dine. Seeing as though Hibachi has kind of gotten old in my opinion, our Chef was very entertaining. It was like he had an updated show to put on. Highly recommend visiting. It wasn't very many people who dined at this place. I'm guessing due to Covid. Nonetheless, it is worth giving a try.

This is the second time I've been to this restaurant and after the gap of roughly a year the quality has held up great. The staff is still plenty friendly and full of smiles. I was disappointed to see reviews about poor service when both times I was here you could see the owner walking around greeting patrons. It was clear this place has regulars who appreciate the service here. Now for the important part! The food! For appetizers we had the fried gyoza, fried shrimp shumai, and pepper tuna. Across the board the food was cooked well, the shumai and gyoza delivered to the table warm all the way through and perfectly crispy without being burnt whatsoever. The pepper tuna was seasoned excellently, not overpowering and expectedly fresh. For our main we as a table ordered salmon, tuna, white tuna, and eel sushi, as well as two chef's choice specialty rolls and one plate or of the steak and shrimp hibachi. The hibachi plate was pretty typical, great friend rice, but the steak and shrimp were fairly average. The sushi really was the highlight, this place does what they know really well. All the sushi was VERY well prepared and fresh, excellent proportions and seasoned expertly. The two rolls were also really good. I'm truly running out of synonyms for excellent because honestly I've been to only two other sushi places that have done better, and I eat an above average amount of sushi. They were perfectly balanced between fish or shrimp and toppings. I didn't try any dessert but I really don't have anything bad to say about this place. I think the only thing they could improve on is the music choice. I just didn't get it.

I am updating my review based on a few more recent experiences at Koto. We have taken our daughter here for her 13th birthday-it was just our family of four-and had hibachis. The service was very good, and we never needed to ask for refills on our drinks. It was very "small town" hibachi-meaning, I have seen better, but the food was good, and they were accommodating to the special diets of other people at our table. On a separate occasion, yesterday, in fact, we took our friend who was visiting from Alaska here for a sit-down dinner. We had the two kids with us, and my son ordered the Yaki Chicken Udon, which was appropriately portioned for a 10 year old with a good appetite, and he ate almost the entire bowl. We also had some sushi roll apps, which were great, and then wound up ordering the sushi/sashimi for 2 which was more than filling. I like that with most of the entrees, you get the soup and salad, and the kids were offered free ice cream (even though we went to Let's Yo after!). The price was about $150 for 3 adults, 1 child and 1 teenager who ordered the filet mingnon teriyaki-which was DIVINE. Our server was extremely pleasant and even talked to my son about China (where she is from, so don't assume!) and taught him some Chinese words. She was very happy with how pleased we were with the food. We had absolutely no issue with the sushi coming out in a timely fashion-and if you check out my photos, you will see, we ordered A LOT of it. If you are looking for a peaceful night out, in a place with lots of ambiance, and good food, this is a great local place to check out.

For years, I had come to Friendship Plaza, though I never took the chance to the go to Nagoya. I…read moregot the chance and I will say that the food perfectly represents the concept of friendship. Brand: 5/5 Nagoya is a Japanese restaurant located in Friendship Plaza in Howell Township. I do like the brush stroke of the logo, which shows well on the entrance sign and the leather-bound menu. Website: 3/5 I do like the first impressions that Nagoya's website gives you, with an image of the sushi and an option to select "Pick Up and Delivery," which leads you to their usage of the app MenuSifu. The gallery of images of the food do provide a glimpse into the establishment's cuisine. While a couple of the menu items had images, most of them did not. It should be noted that Nagoya has unusual time lapses in terms of when they are open or closed, which the Yelp description provides a better format for explaining it than the website does. Wait Time: 5/5 I experienced no delays or disruptions during the wait time. Ambiance: 5/5 This Japanese restaurant has the unique ambiance of having multicolored lights shown upon the glass walls, while the dimmed lights gave the interior a cool vibe. This includes the dark color of the tables and the seats, all of which felt comfortable. I can clearly see how this establishment would be used for celebrations. The well-spaced tables percolated throughout the large space. The music showcased Japanese Christmas songs throughout the establishment. Food: 4/5 I ordered the Alaskan Roll, which consists of salmon, cucumber, and avocado. The vegetables gave the special roll its sharp, distinct taste. Clearly, I can see how Alaska would have a major theme in the roll with the presence of salmon. The rice and the nori sheet did not stay, and the sushi rolls did fall apart, though I did think that the rice and the other ingredients had good texture. Service: 5/5 The staff managed to provide my order without any issues. Worth The Money?: 5/5 The Alaskan Roll perfectly represents the brand of Nagoya, as among its selection of unique sushi rolls. I personally suggest creating a more unique rolls, for I would be curious as to what they would taste like. Indeed, the website provides you with many other selections of Japanese cuisine. You can also expect to find your sushi roll well-tended despite the nori sheet and the wait time it took to make them. Throughout my meal, the ambiance greatly matched the experience. The service matched the food well, since the meal had the sushi roll, the wasabi, and the yellowtail available. Concerning the first impressions of Nagoya, I definitely did not expect the establishment to have the more upbeat ambiance compared to other Japanese restaurants I went to. I will say that it did give me a new experience, despite the website's presentation. As such, the ambiance never once tried my patience while awaiting my order. I can see how the staff managed to keep the establishment cared for. I will say that the Alaskan Roll and the experience overall managed to match the price and make it worth it. Rating: 5/5 Stars With an establishment like Nagoya, I see plenty of hope for improvement and it will continue to represent Friendship Plaza pleasantly. I would definitely consider Nagoya my second choice when searching for Japanese restaurants in the Howell Township area. Recommend To... Anyone wandering around the large Friendship Plaza if they go to the Shoprite there if they are looking to try Japanese cuisine.

On the outside, it may not look splendid (only because you have not stepped inside). Concerning the interior, you are welcomed with two portraits the moment you walk inside. It gives you an idea about the simple aesthetics that pervades the establishment. You will find many geisha portraits upon the walls. At the corner, you will find a section that directly sells the seafood. Indeed, the unassuming appearance of a restaurant in a shopping plaza gives way to an interior filled with quiet joy. Website: 4/5 It has a basic design, with the theme typically used for restaurants leading you down to the description and a separate page for the menu. However, it had no images accompanying the menu items. Nevertheless, it functions well enough. Wait Time: 5/5 I experienced no interruptions while awaiting my order, which came quickly. Ambiance: 5/5 I do like the blue, twinkly lights upon the upper parts of the wood-paneled walls that gave the establishment a calm, cool vibe, along with the smoothly low volume of the pop music. There is a large circular light at the center of the ceiling, which I presume is turned out at night or during special events. The seats felt comfortable and the booths and the tables had a tolerable space. Be advised that it is authentically Asian in the sense they do not have forks or knives, rather only chopsticks. So, please know how to use them before coming. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Dream Roll, which is a specialty roll consisting of steamed shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and topped with lobster salad, seaweed salad, and honey sauce. I did enjoy the shrimp which gave it a hearty taste along with the avocado, seaweed, and honey sauce. I should forewarn that their wasabi did get pretty zesty, for it was not the diluted store-bought version (and most certainly not pistachio ice cream). Even as I ate half of a sushi roll, it still held its form and did not completely break apart. Clearly, this specialty roll is a dream encapsulated within a roll. I also had a side of water that came free of charge, which I wish more restaurants start doing more for a liquid that takes little effort to acquire. The prevalence of seafood and vegetables managed to help me get a more healthy meal. Service: 5/5 The owner served during a slow time and accommodated me throughout my time there. Worth The Money?: 5/5 The allure of the specialty rolls and the presence of Japanese and Thai food reflects the brand of Asian Harbor perfectly. Food can definitely speak in a universal language through the sensation of taste. What Asian Harbor tells me is that it has a lot to offer Aldrich Plaza. The website I would say does not evoke the aesthetics well, particularly considering how Americans typically know little about China and Japan (and even little about the rest of Asia). It would help to perhaps teach some Japanese or Thai words and history on the site. At no point did the wait for the Dream Roll feel cumbersome when accounting for the ambiance. The soothing atmosphere made it easy for me to wait as I wrote, and it fits the brand quite well. Just as well, the atmosphere let me immerse myself into the Dream Roll, as though the experience itself was a dream. Overall, I could find nothing seriously wrong about Asian Harbor. My experience was too pleasant to give it a low score. Considering the status of the Dream Roll as a Specialty Roll, I expected it to have a high price, which comes with the ingredients packed into it. I would absolutely consider it my first choice for Asian cuisine, and I would say that the price is worth it. Rating: 5/5 Stars I enjoyed my first visit to Asian Harbor, and I hope it is not my last, since I have yet to try more sushi rolls. Recommend To... Anyone looking to familiarize yourself with Japanese and Thai cuisines, but are looking for the challenge of using only chopsticks.

Brand: 5/5 I appreciate the vivacious logo of Ichi Sushi, for the bouncy letters invite the community to the sushi restaurant, and the artsy fish prepares you for what to expect. You will find the simplistic Japanese interior inside, from the paintings to the glass wood tables. I really like the leather-bound menus that the restaurant has. Website: 4/5 The website opens up to an option to order online, along with a gallery of photos of the menu items. While the website maintains a simple design, it does not specifically describe the menu items in the gallery. The menu items only had a few images in the Order Online section. Ambiance: 5/5 The pop music over the radio had the right amount of volume, soft enough to match the minimalistic appearance. The booths and tables had enough space between them despite being a medium-sized establishment. I am not sure if the lights being off are a normal occurrence, but I cannot say that it outweighed my experience with the ambiance. Service: 5/5 The staff was incredibly accommodating, asking if I needed anything else. Wait Time: 5/5 I did not experience any interruptions and the order came within a very short span of time. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Beauty Beast Roll, which consists of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, spicy mayo, avocado, tobiko, and scallion, with a side of wasabi. I will say that nobody makes a spicy sushi roll like Ichi Sushi. The huskiness of the avocado and the fish manage to give the roll a unique taste, while the tobiko, the mayonnaise, and the scallion manage to give it a tangy flavor, while the wasabi brings the zest. The preparation of the dish manages to match the form, since none of the roll slices fell apart, even as I lifted them with my chopsticks. Worth The Money?: 5/5 I have not had a sushi roll since I was 13, and I welcomed it back this time. Apparently, sushi rolls so unique they practically have their own personalities is a tale as old as time for sushi restaurants; and Ichi Sushi managed to succeed. So many unique sushi rolls exist well-worth the wait. I did knock off a star for the website not having enough photos of the menu items, since Americans typically do not familiarize themselves with Japanese cuisine, with the exception of sushi and teriyaki sauce. However, I do not think that it works against the overall experience, since there is always opportunity to try such vibrant dishes. Ichi Sushi thrives in its simplicity pertaining to the ambiance. It reflects the Japanese restaurant in many aspects. Despite the dimmed lights, the ambiance of the establishment during the wait did not feel tedious, especially since I was able to read what I was writing. The website only does so barely, but nothing substantial enough to really entice people to take an interest in Japanese cuisine. I would recommend doing something with the website, such as writing entries about unique Japanese word meanings and which Japanese meals are most popular during different time periods. I did pay up to $20 for the Beauty Beast sushi roll, though it was one of the more exclusive sushi rolls with unique selections known as the Special Raw Rolls. There are cheaper sushi rolls and Japanese courses available. Ultimately, I will say that Ichi Sushi is definitely worth it, and I would absolutely make it my first choice if I am in the mood for Japanese cuisine nearby. Another personal suggestion I have is to keep making new Special Raw Rolls. Rating: 5/5 Stars I am truly grateful to come to Ichi Sushi. Recommend To... Anyone looking to try Japanese cuisine with a unique New Jersey twist. There are options for cooked sushi, but if you would like the traditional sushi, then be my guest. I also recommend to anyone looking for a writing space that can entice you with a unique sushi roll at every time you go.
