This is a bit of a hidden gem outside of the main thoroughfare of Santee alley. Nasir waited for me to arrive even though he was supposed to be closed. He didn't rush me and took his time to show me several options. Extremely high quality fabrics here with plenty options and great customer service. Call in advance and he will open the gate for you. Thanks Nasir for all your help! Will definitely be back soon read more

Very friendly n nice owner. Make sure to call so they let you park inside their private gate read more

I have been buying fabric from Koshtex for years now and I have absolutely fallen in love with their fabric. I am a very picky person with expensive taste and high standards - I am not easy to please, so when I leave a positive review for a business/product, that means they really go above and beyond normal expectations. I have fallen in love with their heavyweight bamboo jersey. It is as soft as butter and I have made so many clothing items with it, including panties actually! I just absolutely love it and it is my go - to. It also dyes absolutely beautifully and I have used it for several tye dye items. Their customer service is always spectacular - items are shipped promptly and always arrive in perfect condition! This photo is one of many favorite items I've made from their fabric. I will never shop anywhere else for bamboo. read more

Koshtex - Wholesale Stores Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I would like to thank the shop owner and all of the employees that helped me out that day. The coolest thing about this place is the free parking yes the area is a little off-putting but you can call Naiser and he will open the gate . When you walk in there's nothing but roles and role of fabric from ,ceiling to floor the options on the site or Etsy does it no Justice at all. I did find the place on Etsy I didn't realize that there where here in DTLA ,I'm glad I went because most of the fabric I like wasn't what I was looking for so if you stay here in LA or get a chance to go to the store please do it there are there to help you start to finish. What every u are looking for they have even fine French and Italian fabric it was a Greoge's French silk line mesh fabric I wanted so bad it was so versatile you could do so much with it ask Naiser about it he will tell you about it. I'm a new fashion designer with so many ideas so if you really like your imagination to run wild when you look at fabrics this is the place for you I'm surprised that there not has busy has Michael Levines. What I brought was Mesh: blue with buda print going to to make a shirt, kimono and pool cover for summer of 2018. It's also available in a blk print this fabric is where most of my money went lol Novelty stretch : Blue/Gray-ish color evening shirt long sleeve low cut V-Neck I think Jersey: Eyes Black and White T-shirt is being made. Again I would like to thank the Naiser the owner and everyone I will be a regular costumer has long has they are open. I have pictures of the fabric below so you can see . E R J read more

After that, you'll want to buy many, many, many things. It was so refreshing to see the selection. LA is quite lucky to have something like this right here. It's really a good place to spend an hour, or two, or ten. Well worth it. read more

Very helpful, great selection and knowledgable about sustainable fabrics.

Always a treat to shop at Koshtex. Their selection is huge and the quality is first rate. I have been shopping here for 4 years now. When they can their fabric is American made! I use their bamboo , modal and rayon with Lycra, the color range is awesome and it has such a nice drape. Everyone here is knowledgeable welcoming and friendly. read more

Absolutely love this place. They have a great selection of woven and knit fabrics. Nasir and staff are the nicest people. Super helpful and knowledgeable. No minimums to purchase, which is great for folks like me. Please do yourself a favor and call them so you can park in their lot. The area of town isn't the prettiest. Nonetheless, I will be returning again and again. Thank you so much, Nasir! read more

What a great find! I've been shopping downtown for quite some time and just today, with the help of a Google search, found Koshtex. I was looking for some quality knits and French Terry, and this warehouse did not disappoint. Nasir made me a priority over what he was doing previously and showed me to the areas where the fabrics I was interested in were. The gentleman who cut my fabrics was incredibly polite and courteous as well as Nasir. Overall a very pleasant experience and a great new find. I love that they have an Etsy shop and website so now since I've seen the great stuff they have, I can order online with confidence in the product. Nasir even helped guide me as I backed out of his parking lot! Now that's awesome customer service!! read more

Great business. Very timely and good prices to go with a very large selection. Highly recommend for anyone looking for the best French Terry in LA. read more

I went to Koshtex last week. I was so happy they have good fabrics what I wanted. I had been looking for French Terry more thick fabric. They have a huge warehouse and many different fabrics with good qualities. The owner and worker are really nice and helpful. I'm really satisfied with my fabrics. And will go Koshtex soon :) read more

I had a wonderful experience at koshtex. As the other reviews stated, I called and they promptly answered and opened the gate. Nasir showed me a number of fabrics for what I was looking for, namely cotton jerseys and French Terry cottons. I then spent a lot of time feeling fabrics and trying to narrow down my choices. There were a lot of choices! And not just run of the mill stuff: fabrics that were interesting and slightly different. Also mostly milled and converted locally here in la! Nasir checked in to make sure I was doing okay. I finally narrowed down my options and was given a very reasonable price for my sample fabrics. I also got to interact with one of Nasir's daughters, a very intelligent young lady with an entrepreneurial spirit. We can credit her for koshtex's online presence on etsy! Finally quality, interesting fabrics at reasonable prices online. Truly a family establishment. Compared to going to mood or Michael Levine, this is a no brainer. Go to koshtex. When you're ready for your production run they can help you too! read more

Koshtex - Lovely fabrics! - Wholesale Stores Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Great selection and superior service compared to any other fabric warehouse I've been to. They have a wide array of fabric of all types, to rarer more esoteric things like hemp silk. Nasir is super helpful and very kind. There's a reason why businesses like his have been around for decades, and it's all spelled out the moment you step foot in Koshtex. read more

Nice and very large selection of organic fabric, bamboo, hemp, linen, modal! Good service and amazing deals on all natural fabrics ! You can find anything you need here ! Love to support this business ! read more

Such a great place with a variety of options. Love how honest the owner is about where fabrics are from and how much he can supply it purchased in bulk. Call and they will let you in their gated parking. Enjoy fabric shopping at Koshtex! read more

The people here were patient and helpful in getting the right fabric I needed for my project and at a very fair price. There is also gated parking which really helped me browse at ease not having to worry about my car. read more

Super helpful staff, small gated parking lot. Worth a look because you might not know what you'll find!

PRIVATE PARKING LOT: right out FRONT (please don't go behind the building like I did). You have to call them so they can open up the gate for you. I went to search for 100% cotton fabrics. There 100% cotton choices were limited but they did have a very wide range of other high quality fabrics. The fabric I bought from Nasir was of excellent quality and even the friends I bought extra fabric for noted the quality. Additionally, this is a family run business with great customer service! Nasir was welcoming and made me feel comfortable even with my lack of knowledge on the topic matter. I was also rung up by his daughter who was friendly and warm! :) read more

I have been meaning to write this review for sometime,I can't stop thinking about what a great experience it was with the extraordinary help from Nasir, Pedro, Daniella. Nasir was so attentive and helpful like I've never experienced before in any fabric store. He carries clothing fabrics that no one else does, they are fabulous! especially the knits. I purchased so much fabric when I was there (the prices are also great )I still am working on creating with all of it. I can't wait to go back! Thanks to the previous reviews about giving a heads up about contacting Nasir about where to park. It's definitely an area I've never been to before but when you park within his gates all is well. read more

Very knowledgeable about the eco fabrics and great hospitality! Prices are reasonable and he has a great selection to choose from - my number one spot for sustainable fabrics. Also Gated and free parking !! read more

All I can say is "WOW"! Customer service is 1000% here. First time here and got treated like royalty. Thank you! Definitely recommend this place. read more

We had an amazing experience at Koshtex! First of all, do not be deterred by the area. If you call the shop they will open the gate and you can park right next to the building. They have an immense amount of fabrics, and it can be easy to get overwhelmed. Ask the owner, Nasir to direct you based on what you are looking for. In my time there I learned a ton about the fabrics, including how to best care for them. He took the time to answer all of my questions. We will definitely be purchasing more fabric from them! read more

This is truly the place to go for gorgeous fabrics! Nasir is very knowledgable and so is his coworker. Because of work, I arrived a little before closing time but Nasir was still willing to assist me! I went in there with photos of what I was trying to achieve and Nasir helped me find the most affordable option. They let me leave with different swatches since I couldn't make a decision. The next day, my florist and I decided on which fabric would be best and I was able to place an order over the phone. Since I was leaving town the next day and couldn't drive Downtown, Nasir met up with me after hours so I could have the fabric in time! I'm using this fabric for my wedding and can't wait to share the photos! Will be updating my review later! Thanks Koshtex! read more

(This review was written by my sister) I recently went to Koshtex for the first time and they were awesome! Lots of good fabric and a very helpful and kind staff. And their prices were more than fair. They're setup in a small warehouse and it'll take some time to find what you're looking for, but well worth the effort. I was helped by the owner and he didn't make me feel pressured or obligated to buy (unlike other fabric places downtown). He was very honest and fair. I'll definitely be returning. Don't be put off by the sketchy neighborhood or the building, it's probably one of the reasons they're able to keep their fabric prices down. read more

Found beautiful linens here around September 2016 at a great price. On top of that, the owner gave me a deal in exchange for a review! I will come right back to this shop if I need any more fabric. Thank you! read more

Great color selection and service. The warehouse is STACKED with fabrics, but the employees know where everything is and are helpful in finding what is needed. An extra bonus for a private parking lot. read more

Needed a bunch of fabric for a dance team project, but have a limited budget. I heard that going downtown for fabrics, when you're on a budget, is the way to go. I visited Koshtex based on the number of great reviews. So glad that I did! The neighborhood is definitely very sad, but right when we pulled up, we called, and they opened the gate to their private parking lot right away. The owner was very nice, and very helpful. And he gave me a very fair price too! Was definitely worth the trip downtown! Will be back for sure!!! read more

Wow! The price and the quality of fabric here are insane! I had been shopping at Michael Levine before and the price over there is 2-3 times higher. They have great selection of fabrics from cotton, bamboo, modal, etc. The color is great! Very bright! Very fashionable and very comfortable! 5 stars business! read more

Koshtex - Fun fabrics! - Wholesale Stores Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I went here first after reading the reviews, planning to take pictures and come back if I didn't find anything anywhere else. There was no need. I had a weird idea in my head and wasn't sure I'd find a pattern, prepared to settle for a solid with an additional layer for effect or... something. I was on a budget as well. Usually when I tell someone my price range, they stop helping me as much. Nasir simply directed me towards sections it would be safer to look, also keeping in mind my need for porous material to absorb sound. (The fabrics are organized by type, not price, but he still had a general idea of where to let my eyes float and was available to price check and answer questions.) I had brought in some measurements and sketches, and he helped me do the math in a way that gave me what I needed with a little extra for error. I'm fully aware allowing a salesman to confirm your math can be incredibly stupid when shopping for bargains, but Nasir was genuinely helpful and honest! It's incredibly refreshing to be able to admit to a businessman that you're not 100% sure what you're doing and be met with accessible expertise. I had an impossible idea for what fabric I wanted. I was fully ready to leave the district with something that was "close enough." He had something that fit my exact and bizarre checklist, which means when they shop they have a great eye for interesting and useful prints! It sounds stupid, but I keep turning to people I'm with and shouting, "I LOVE THIS FABRIC!!!" I can't get over how I went to just one store and was able to find something I pictured in my head in a creative fever dream. For a better price than any of the "almost what I want" options I had found in sales online. His daughter was also really friendly and engaging when ringing us up! When you don't make a lot, it feels really good to know that the money you did spend went to a business that's run well by great people!!! read more

So happy we found this place! First off the staff are very friendly, helpful, and honest, which always me feel good about where I spend my money :) The prices are good and they have a great selection of fabric. This is our new go-to spot when we need to bulk up on some new fabrics ! They hang the fabric in a way that makes shopping SO much easier than other wholesalers. It's also super convenient because they have their own parking lot. Don't be put off by the neighborhood its located in, its soooo worth it ! read more

Family owned business with a very large selection of fabrics. This was my first time at Koshtex and I'm very pleased. Nasir, Levana and Pedro were very helpful. I'm an independent designer and they were very willing to work with me on pricing. Prices are not the cheapest, but I will attest to the quality - you get what you pay for! Nasir is very knowledgable about fabrics and the properties of each. What I like about this place over others is that they have sample fabrics hanging on racks that you get to touch and feel. As a designer, this really helps me find out what's available to me as sometimes I might not know exactly what kind of fabric I'm looking for. My only qualm is that if I find a fabric I like, there is no guarantee that they'll have the same fabric in stock the next time around. So if you see something you like, BUY IT. This place is great for wholesale as well as retail. Also you can call them ahead of time to open up their private parking cause it is located in a pretty sketch part of LA. read more

Nasir is the nicest fabric guy I've ever met! He found me some lower-cost white fabric, and had his co-worker climb a 30ft ladder to retrieve a new roll, and cut me a great deal. Literally. The neighborhood is what it is, but once you pull in the driveway, it's a veritable fabric paradise! read more

I researched fabric suppliers in LA, who have knits beyond the typical polyester. Koshtex has a good supply of tencel, modal, cotton and rayon knits in a variety of weights. I sew and sell my own clothing line and good quality is important to me. I had success ordering online from Koshtex but wanted to actually see and feel more fabric choices. Nasir met me at the gate, welcomed me and showed me where all of the sample knits were so I could browse. Pedro assisted also, and he knows his fabrics well. He found a few things I had missed. I spent well over an hour there, and Nasir was happy to ship my choices home to Oregon, and invoice me. Very professional. I have shopped regularly in the LA Fabric district, and this was a better experience. read more
