Kosciuszko Park is at the southern tip of my neighborhood, the Harbor Point part of Stamford. It's a short bike ride or moderate walk from my place. It's a pretty decent park, but there are things about it that could make it really outstanding. The park is named for Tadeusz Kościuszko, a Polish-Lithuanian engineer and Revolutionary War hero, and there's a memorial to him at the entrance of the park. There are baseball fields (by permit use only, which is kinda lame) a large picnic shelter (also permit only,) a really nice sized playground (as far as I know, you don't need a permit for this,) and then a short trail around the spit, which has numerous fishing spots. The parking lot is what I would call rugged, gravel and never paved. It would look at lot better if it were paved and striped. The park is overall nice, and a great place to enjoy views of Long Island Sound and do some birdwatching as well. Overall a decent little park in Stamford.

Wonderful little park with a nice view of the sound, walking trail and playground. The open air pavilion was a perfect picnic spot.

There's an area for younger kids, and an area for older kids; and both sections have robust options. (That's not always the case!) There's also ample shade here. I cannot stress how delightful that is, especially in the summer. There's an area of musical instruments, which I've seen at a handful of other playgrounds, but, again, it's in pretty great shape here. The sand area is relatively clean. At least for now! It's also close to downtown in case you have any errands you need to do on your way.

There are musical instruments, swings and multiple structures to climbs, as well as a small sand park area. Many of the structurs have ages printed on them. I would suggest that parents definitely watch smaller kids on some of the structures so they don't hurt themselves. There's a structure with rolling pieces and I would definitely see a kid falling and hurting themselves or getting a finger pinched while moving across. The swingset has swings for different stages and abilities which I love. People form the community gave back to build this wonderful park and it's a great addition to the neighborhood. Be careful walking across the street. The multiple stop signs make drivers impatient and they speed up almost as if to scare you out of the way, despite rushing to another stop sign.

There was a food truck in the parking lot with Pepsi themed dishes. They closed at 2pm on a Saturday, so we didn't try anything. The grounds are well maintained and easy to walk. The main path through the sculpture gardens has gravel. We had no issues pushing a stroller. The grass is lush and immaculately mowed. It's perfect for laying out a blanket. The sculptures are unique and eye catching. The printed map doesn't have much detail about the art beyond the name of each piece and the sculptor. There are no placards with information either, so it's not very educational. Some of the trees and plants are labeled, so you get a bit of a botanical gardens experience as well. There were a few benches along the path, but most were not shaded. Great place for a stroll. You can easily get through it in an hour.

If you come by during sunrise or sunset, the lighting over Cos Cob Harbor is tough to beat. I love just sitting by the overlook watching the local rowing crews glide across the water during their morning practices and races--it brings a really calm, classic New England energy to the whole place. The park packs a lot into its layout without feeling crowded: * The Walking Paths & Waterfront: Paved, well-maintained, and easy to loop around. Great breeze coming off the harbor. * The 9/11 Memorial: The two glass towers standing against the water create such a quiet, moving, and beautifully solemn space to pause and reflect. * The Turf Field: Always lively in the mornings with adult drop-in soccer matches. * Playground & Pet-Friendly Areas: Plenty of space for kids to burn off energy, and it's a solid, welcoming spot to bring your dogs along on a leash. Whether you're looking for a brisk morning walk with your pup, catching golden hour over the harbor, or letting the kids run around the playground, it's easily one of the best waterfront community parks in town.
