I have been coming here for a little over 20 years. It's my favorite Park. You Have the convenience of being able to park Your car While enjoying great walks, bike riding, or just picking a bench to sit and relax or read or just meditate.

This is a lovely park with rocks to climb on, a wonderful lake, lots of nature, and free parking. It is a great place to go on a walk or take the family. The only downside is that you can hear the freeway from the park.

Bruce Park is a fantastic park located just south of I-95 in Greenwich. It consists of several spaces with roads intertwined throughout, so it is a bit broken up, and not one contiguous space. There's a baseball field, tennis courts, lawn bowling, and then a number of wooded spaces with picnic tables and walking paths. It's quite pretty in the autumn when the large trees are changing color. This is a nice park for going for a stroll or walking your dog, or having a picnic. Definitely a great community park for the city.

Amazing bike path bordered by lush gardens, private gated communities, a small lake and a rock wall bordering woods. Picturesque!

Honestly, there is no better place to watch the sunrise. Locals call it Tod's Point (it used to be the private estate of J. Kennedy Tod back in the day before the town bought it in the 40s), and it's easily one of the best spots in Fairfield County. On a clear morning, you get these stunning views across the Long Island Sound, the Stamford Harbor Ledge Lighthouse, and you can even see the Manhattan skyline peeking out in the distance. The park itself is huge (around 147 acres) with a great 2.5-mile loop that's perfect for morning walks, though you'll always see plenty of runners and cyclists out too. It's got a bit of everything: sandy beaches, beautiful flower gardens, and wooded areas. If you're into photography or bird watching, bring your camera. The wildlife here is incredible because of the tidal marshes and Eagle Pond. We've spotted everything from herons and egrets to ospreys and hawks. A few practical tips if you're planning a visit: * The Setup: Right after you pass the entry booth, you'll see the historic Innis Arden Cottage. There's plenty of parking spread out--across from the cottage, by the sailing school, and an overflow lot at the very tip of the peninsula. * Passes & Timing (Summer vs. Winter): From May 1st to October 31st, you need a pass. It's free for Greenwich residents if your plates are linked to your OnePass, but if you're a non-resident, you have to buy a single-entry pass online beforehand. They do not sell tickets at the gate. Also, no dogs are allowed during the summer season. * The Off-Season: From November 1st to April 30th, entry is free and dogs are allowed. Officially they're supposed to be leashed, but just a heads up that most people let their fur babies run free on the beach during these months. * Pro-Tip: If you walk or ride your bike in, entry is free year-round! Whether you're looking for a peaceful morning walk, a place to kayak/sail, or just want to sit on the beach and read, Tod's Point is an absolute gem. We feel incredibly lucky to have this in our backyard.

I remember hanging hammocks in the trees. As kids we ran and played building up our appetite. I've got many historic photos from over the years. Summertime at Greenwich Point is the best! I'm recommending you visit.

However, they do mark the trees for the main path, so you can just look for those. You can also open Google Maps to see the trails (but not necessarily directions on how to get back out). It's also a great place to walk dogs. You are likely to see other friendly dogs along your walk - some leashed, some unleashed (There are signs saying dogs must be leashed. Enforcement does patrol the area, but dog owners take the risk anyway.) There's one paved parking lot with lines and a dirt lot above the paved ones. I usually park up there because it's easier to get out of. But, this one is a free for all, so people park wherever they fit.

It rises at Bedford, NY in Westchester, NY. Altogether, the park in both is a bit more than 220 acres total The trail is accessible from parking lots in Greenwich and Stamford that allow access to the park, but check to see if PARKING PERMITS ARE REQUIRED. Dogs should be kept on lead and under control, not just because it's the right thing, but also because there is wildlife in the park, Eagles nest in the areas and Black Bears are known to nest there. There is a Mianus Web site as also from Stamford and Greenwich. IN the 90s, a fishway was built to allow migratory fish to enter the river as they had previously. It's just a beautiful place that I once shared with a neighbor occasionally as we walked our dogs in the park, a rare time witha great person in early sages of cancer until she had to give it up.

Quiet and peaceful. The parking lot (free parking!) is a potholed mess. But the 3/4 mile gravel walking path is in good shape. Lots of geese pooping all over the grass. Stay on the walking path. Looking at Kosciuszko Park, I saw that there was no fee, only fees for using the common area/Gazebo. We got there at about 5PM on a Friday afternoon. As noted on the website, there is no fee to enter the park. There is a large parking lot there and the only people that were in the park were a few runners and a few local older groups who seem to be regulars. The walking trails are gravel and dirt with lots of goose poop in the grass, so you can kiss those fresh all white sneakers goodbye if you are not careful. The park is a nice free option to get some good views while taking a walk. I do plan on returning on the nicer days to the visit the other fee-based parks, including Cove Island Park, as they seem to be a lot bigger and offer more to do.
