I was interested in dresses, but also wanted to check out the jewelry, shoes and purses for a maybe dress at home. I made an appointment online (super easy) and paid the $50 fee. I brought along a friend for lunch and shopping since everything is more fun with friends. We showed up a few minutes early for our 2pm appointment and was greeted by the lovely Monika who immediately began pulling dress options for us that fit within the theme/look I was going for. There are so many amazing dresses to choose from, but there's basically only one size of each dress...but I ended up with about 6-10 options. There were a few that looked like ice skating costumes, others that just looked horrible on me and a few good ones as well. I ended up really liking this beautiful white zac pozen dress, but it looked kind of plain on even with the most fabulous pair of borrowed Jimmy Choo sparkly shoes. However, then Monika took us into the jewel/purse room and turned the plain white dress into an amazing option. She was so great at styling the dress that I joked (half serious) that she needed to come home with me to style me daily! The white dress + accessories was an amazing option, but I ultimately decided to stick with my maybe option at home...unless something else really amazing comes along in the next month. I probably need to make yet another appointment at Janet Mandells for accessories and have a feeling I'll be a frequent customer for other events as well. I was a big Rent the Runway fan pre pandemic, but this takes renting dresses and accessories to an entirely new level. And it's hard to swallow the cost of some of these dresses and accessories that I know i'll wear once when I can rent something amazing at a fraction of the cost.

One of the higher-up employees was speaking very disrespectfully to the seamstress right in front of customers, which was really uncomfortable to witness. I arrived for my scheduled 11:00 appointment to simply pick up the dress--nothing needed to be done--but I was told I would have to come back at 5:00 to get it. They also never called me when the dress came in. Earlier in the process, they told me I needed to find my own seamstress for alterations, so I arranged that on my own. Then, because they didn't have my dress in on time, they suddenly told me they could "fit me in" with their seamstress instead. The whole situation felt very disorganized and frustrating. Overall, the customer service was poor and the experience was far more stressful than it should have been for something as important as a wedding dress. A few days earlier, I had ordered flowers online from a competing website to be delivered by 3 pm on Friday but they hadn't been delivered so I reached out to MD Creations. It was after hours but I was desperate to make sure there were flowers at the funeral. I texted the numbers provided on their voicemail and heard back from Carlos within minutes. I explained my situation and he shared photos of a beautiful arrangement Maria put together for another engagement. It was exactly what I had in mind and at a great price. Although their business doesn't open until 10 am Saturday, Carlos promised they would go in early to create the arrangement and he would hand-deliver to the church by 9:30 am. The service was scheduled for 10:30 am. This morning, Carlos texted me a photo of the delivered arrangement. Another wonderful personal touch that eased my mind. To say I was beyond grateful is an understatement. Thank you so very much Carlos and Maria for pulling off this miracle for me with such short notice!!
