I'll start by echoing the sentiments of previous reviewers that KOS is cozy and intimate. It's not necessarily a good choice for large groups, but it's perfect for one-on-one catch-ups! I came in with a friend and we did just that over lovely coffee and tasty pastries. We were warmly greeted by the staff, who patiently answered the few menu questions we had. The coffee offerings are fairly standard, but the syrups are made in-house and include some lovely and unique flavors. I was a big fan of the pumpkin sage syrup. I personally loved that it tasted distinctly of pumpkin without being sickly sweet--the perfect addition to my iced latte. We also knew we wanted a pastry, and the offerings were all tempting! The cardamom bun was a top contender and will definitely be part of my imminent return, but we ultimately landed on the banana bread. It was so generously sized that we shared it! Like the flavored coffee, the banana bread was sweet without being sickly so. The sugar was understated, which I really appreciated, while the cake itself was still moist and distinctly banana-forward. I'm looking forward to trying the waffles or maybe even a sandwich on my next visit (in addition to that cardamom bun, of course!). The other patrons had a variety of the dishes mentioned above, and everything looked delicious and generously sized. One other detail I really appreciated: gratuity is already built into the prices, so there's no additional tipping expected or requested. I thought that was a really nice touch and made the whole experience feel especially straightforward and relaxed. KOS is perfectly situated in the heart of downtown Maitland, in a shopping plaza with easy parking and just a short walk from Lake Lily. read more

This place is still so very good. It has turned into a meetup place for my bestie. We meet here, have a coffee and/or breakfast and then we walk around Lake Lily or hit up the farmer's market. I love that this place has excellent coffee beverages. None of them are too sweet at all. I've gotten several different types of drinks and all of them just hit that spot. I am a hot coffee girly so love that the possibilities of that are endless here. This is a fast casual restaurant where you order at the counter and then they bring you the food/drink. They are pretty efficient. Their baked goods are really unique flavor profiles which I love. Some things are definitely shareable if you're looking for a snack. This is a great place if you want to have some one-on-one time with someone, as the seating is a bit limited but the decor is very nice. They have a couple of tables outside for some outdoor seating on the good weather days. read more

Only great news things to say. Great coffee. Friendly staff. This is my go to when I'm in town.

Came by for breakfast the other day and it was a fantastic experience. KOS coffee is located inside a strip mall with Nordic vibes. Staff were super cordial which was reflected in tax and service charge included price, just like in the Nordics. Started off with the latte and it was perfect. Espresso was smooth and the temperature of the beverage was on point. Latte art was excellent too. The smoked salmon cream cheese open faced sandwich was more than filling. There was a generous amount of smoked salmon over a lightly toasted bread and a thick layer of cream cheese. I loved the pickled onions and the capers that provided a nice contrast. $30/head for breakfast read more

I needed a spot to hang out, have some coffee, and work while my wife was at an appointment nearby. There were a few coffee spots in the area but this one looked the most promising and I'm so glad I picked it! The barista was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. He seemed to know everyone in the shop and addressed me by name the whole time I was there. I was intrigued by the seasonal drink offerings--and would like to come back to try some--but went with my usual americano since it was my first time trying their espresso! The barista picked an espresso for my drink that was perfect for an americano. Sometimes I add sugar, but this drink didn't need it at all. I also tried the cardamom bun, and although this visit was over a month ago at this point, I'm still thinking about that bun. There were plenty of other delicious pastry options as well, so I'll surely struggle to decide what to get when I return! read more

Such a cute and tasty coffee shop! We have been here twice now and have been super impressed both times. The workers are super friendly and welcoming. The sourdough bread is delicious and I have tried both the Full Send and Brekkie Sandwich, and they were tasty and super filling. They have a wide variety of drink options and seasonal options as well. I grabbed the Mango Coconut Matcha and it was a wonderful combination of flavors. read more

I love Kos!!! In addition to the wonderful coffee, they have a fantastic menu which is super tasty. The lattes are coffee forward, so if you're looking for sweetness, be advised to ask for a heavier hand with the syrups. There isn't a ton of room for big groups, so save this for an intimate besties coffee date or maybe a solo trip. The ube latte is a current favorite, but there are lots of good choices, and a nearby park/lake if you want to stretch your legs and get a few steps in! read more

Get out of your coffee shop rotation and take a gander at KOS! My neighbors been bothering me about going for the last few weeks so I caved and well, I'm glad I did! Today I tried an iced sage forward latte and this alone got me fired up to come back. The barista was super friendly and was able to give me a great walkthrough of the seasonal menu. Lil fun tip - they actually serve canned beer here too if you're coming post work and need more than just a pick me up they're here for you read more

My favorite coffee shop in Maitland! The staff is always so welcoming. I love that they remember my name everytime I come in. I usually get a matcha latte or try one of their seasonal drinks. 5 Stars for good coffee, a cute spot, and pickled herring toast and avocado toast that hit the spot! Also- get the cardamom bun. You won't regret it. I know. Pickled herring. Not the norm on cafe menus, BUT, trust me and order it. The herring is sweet and vinegary and the pickled red onion adds a bite. All of it on a great slice of crunchy sourdough. The avocado toast also has the pickled red onions, but the real star here is the basil. SO GOOD. The prices include taxes and tips, which I appreciate! I do wish the staff was more consistent (some are lovely and some ignore you completely). The space is rather small, but especially when it's slow, it's a good spot to hang with a great cup of coffee or matcha. read more

KOS has been a part of my weekend routine now. My go-to order is an oat milk vanilla latte and it's always good. You know how other coffee shops the coffee to milk mixture can be unpredictable? Well not at KOS. The staff is friendly (shoutout to Carson!) and orders never take too long. There is indoor and outdoor seating, with table space if you want to set up with a laptop! If you haven't been to KOS yet, you gotta go! read more

Nice coffee shop. Love the local options here. Mostly every thing made in house and my first time trying a cardamom flat white. Everything was good and apparently a lot of people know about this place. Nice foot traffic but great customer service and inside is nice and cozy. read more

I went on a Sunday and enjoyed Matcha coffee and some pastries. We both got the prices were a little high for what they were but it was well worth it. The place is small so I would suggest this isn't the place for a date, but definitely had to go coffee on your way to maybe walk around Lake Lilly or go to the downtown farmers market in Maitland they do have plenty of parking so that's a plus and the service was friendly. read more

Always looking for a place that makes a good lavender americano. Today I tried a nicely blended americano with lavender at KOS coffee. It's a small interior with just a few tables but the free WiFi is a plus to encourage you to grab a cup and have a seat. I also tried the rainy cloud matcha which was delicious. I enjoyed the coconut water they put in the matcha and I wonder if I ever have had that before. I think it's always just been regular water. The barista was so super nice and gave me a sample of the strawberry drip coffee as I had already ordered before I noticed it. I love black coffee and the flavor of strawberries was subtly present and I imagine with cream it would also be delightful. I thought for the size it should be less than $5 and the $8 price point for the matcha at that small size feels like a lot too. BUT it was delicious and if you are looking to indulge this is a good stop. Next time I would like to try the earl grey and citrus morning bun but they are baked fresh daily and they were out of them by the time I got there. Next time! read more

Stopped in before the farmers market. Something that bothered me was the fact they used their flavored espresso in their iced latte without asking if that's what I wanted. Maybe it's their standard and that's on me but it wasn't what I expected. I also ordered a flat white but to be honest I'm positive I didn't get the right drink and left before I took my first sip. I drink flat white a lot. This felt like I was drinking straight espresso like they forgot my milk. Maybe they made me a cortado on accident. I should have gone back to rectify it. That's on me. I'm also all for speciality roasters and I fully understand the cost of beans so I'm willing to pay for whole bean but it felt like their whole bean was really overpriced. I don't want to say some of my experience wasn't my fault so I'll prolly try them again and update my review at some point because this experience wasn't it for me. read more

Really cute coffee shop with a small town feel. The baristas are really friendly and explained everything about their process and all inclusive pricing. I got the Norwegian waffle with strawberry compote which was tasty, not too sweet but there was quite a bit of compote. I would say $11 for it didn't seem quite reasonable but I did enjoy it. My friend got the blueberry scone which was pretty average but fresh, and buttered toast which was on the saltier side. We got a vanilla iced latte with oat milk and an iced marzipan latte with oat as well. Both were good but the syrups had a bit of a sugar free after taste to them. Overall this is a cute shop that I'm excited to see grow. read more

Pros: * The oat milk matcha latte was beautifully presented and delicious, though a bit strong for my taste. A lighter hand with the matcha would have made it more balanced. * My pickled herring toast had fresh ingredients and, while slightly dry, was still enjoyable. * Good seating options, both indoors and outdoors, provided a comfortable space to relax. Cons: * I checked the menu online before visiting to plan my order but the in-store menu was significantly different, with higher prices--especially for food. For example, the pickled herring toast was listed as $10 online but cost around $15 at the café. * They lacked Danish rye bread and only served American sourdough instead. Apart from the Norwegian steeped coffee (described as "unfiltered and prepared in a traditional Nordic kettle"), the herring, and the skyr yogurt, the Norwegian influence on the menu seemed minimal. * Service was a bit slow. One staff member was friendly and attentive, but another seemed irritated when I asked for extra dill and mayo to accompany my toast, which was slightly dry and a bit under-seasoned. read more

I was so very excited to try KOS. And it's not that it's bad, it's that it's good enough, and with the coffee scene in Orlando that's not enough to push you to 4 or 5 stars. We got the Marla's Iced- it was very bitter not well balanced and you couldn't taste the Mocha at all unfortunately. We also go the Chai Latte- this was much better it was sweet and very balanced spices and just the right amount of oat milk. I enjoyed this one. The shop is cute and quite busy, but the service was quick and they were very pleasant and helpful. I plan on going again and hopefully, I'll have a better experience and if I do I will for sure update my review. read more

Coffee was good but I wasn't impressed. I first got Ube latte and it was a bit bitter. She redid for me with salted cinnamon syrup and it was better but still watery. The lady was very nice and what I liked about this place is that taxes and tip is included in the price. I paid $8 total ( syrup extra $1) No extra charges for milk type which I think it's fair. I love coffee but every time it blows my mind to spend in a cup of coffee the same amount as a whole meal. read more

KOS is this precious space for locals to grab amazing coffee and connect. Sitting here for a few hours I've listened to the staff engage with every person walking in with a warm, friendly, family vibe. Calling many by name. Watching their faces light up when welcomed like that was heartwarming. It's like Cheers, for coffee. The coffee was delish and Banana bread incredible - and made on the premises. Highly recommend this space if you are in the Maitland/Winter Park/Altamonte Springs area. read more

KOS is overpriced, understaffed and pretentious. Don't be fooled by the promise of a Norwegian coffee experience. The food was subpar at best and took almost 40 minutes to serve. For a breakfast sandwich... insane. The prices are ridiculous. $40 for 2 coffees and 2 breakfast sandwiches. Staff never even acknowledged the wait time which would imply that this wasn't an irregular occurrence. Too many good coffee shops in the area to waste time and money at this place. read more

KOS is a super cute Nordic coffee shop located in a strip mall in Maitland. They are known for ethically sourcing and roasting their own beans in house. They have limited seating inside and every spot was full when I visited on a Monday afternoon. They also have a few seating options outside as well. The space is minimal and well-designed with some cool merch available for purchase. The menu is pretty straightforward with all the classic coffee drinks (espresso, drip, cappuccino, latte, flat white, cold brew, americano, etc.) and some pastry items. I got a cold brew with oat milk and a thick slice of the banana bread which was very tasty. Service was quick & friendly! Definitely a spot I would be willing to make a quick stop into again when I'm in the area. read more

Okay great atmosphere, employees know what they are talking about. Gives off a pretentious vibe but that's literally okay because I drink dunkalatte's from Dunkin. I had the Toasted Caramel latte and my girlfriend had a Ube Latte. The ube latte was good but i didn't really taste the caramel in my latte but hey that's just me. Also had the Cardamon pastry with sugar it was good I just never tried cardamom before and I I didn't like that spice, the barista said it's cinnamon's sister but I think it's her sister IN LAW mmm not my cup of tea but the sugar on the pastry was yummy oh and........ the ounce on the coffee is the only thing I didn't like it was like I think and I don't know the once but it was a 8 oz MAYBE cup of coffee and we had two coffees and a pastry for 20. But it was great to try it out though. read more

I've visited here twice. The service is nice and I like the decor of the place. It's the coffee isn't bad but not my favorite around town. I tried their breakfast sandwich, The Queen Sonja, which is overpriced to me ($15). The best thing about it is the bread itself, other than that, there wasn't much flavor with the egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, red onion, and avocado. I would give this place another chance to try more of the menu. It's also worth noting they serve wine and mimosas. read more

KOS Coffee is a nice cozy coffee spot in Maitland. There is more than one location, the Maitland location serves food. I went on my way to a work meeting and was served quickly . After asking some questions about the menu , I decided to order an iced coffee ube flavor . The waitress told me ahead of time if it wasn't sweet enough she would make it over , but it was good . It wasn't overly sweet, but sweet enough. I also decided to order the Brekkie sandwich made with egg and cheese & Mayo, you can also add bacon for an additional charge. The staff was so nice and helpful. The ambience was beautiful & relaxing enough to do some work or just relax and have some coffee and a bite to eat . They also sell tea, wine and other goodies. KOS is a small little place in a strip mall in Maitland, by the new Lazy Moon! They are doing the roasting themselves in the back and have a good selection of coffees. I feel like they do cater to very craft brews and are very straight forward, not as much on the specialty/seasonal side of things. If you like just a good basic coffee, come try KOS. Their seating is very limited, so I would just do a to-go order. This is a nice easy stop for us in the middle of the work day when we need a quick pick me up. I believe they also have some beer/wine and some small food items. I havent tried those just yet! Try it out if you are in the area and want something quick! read more
