Ended up taking my car into another local shop to get more information on what needed replaced - they said front brakes and rotors, and back brakes, for around $1200. They could fit me in in a week or two. I then talked to someone at Joe's who took a look and said all I needed were front brakes and rotors, the back brakes could wait a while longer, and they could fit me in the next day. I went with Joe's and paid only $450. Been driving the car for a little over a month and it drives/brakes perfectly. Car places can really try to take advantage of people who aren't super knowledgeable (aka me) so I'm really grateful to Joe's!
