The guy that came was very nice, but his initial assessment was that the water was coming from the other side of the wall and he wanted to see what was back there. I knew this was impossible since there are no pipes in that office, so I thanked him for his time we had a nice chat on his way out. A few weeks later, the water softener died and poured water all over and back under the wall again. This was the culprit and my take on the plumber's inspection was correct. Some weeks later, the accountant from the company called and insisted on payment. I was very annoyed because absolutely no value was added during the visit. I did pay the balance because I understand that receiving a professional to your home on a service call does have an accepted base-rate or fee. I explained to the accountant however that this was bad form and would guarantee that I'd never be interested in calling again. I too work in the service industry as an onsite IT person (since '97) and I know full well when I've made a visit that shouldn't be billed. And my rates and relevance are exactly the same. I'm writing this both to make sure the marketing team over there have a talk with the accountant, and to point out to the owner of Quick Fix that I spent $18,000 on the replacement boiler and water heater. Pissing off customers over $75 really can be expensive.

Over the years they helped with faucet, pipe and drain problems in this old house. They always charged a base price of $50. Then, about 2 years ago, after a routine plumbing job, the plumber charged $200 base price with no advance notice! I later contacted them for an estimate on another job. They never followed through. I guess they no longer want me as a customer. Good plumbers but not good business.

The Dry Guys did our water/flood mitigation for our bathroom, which had seeped into a walk in closet and downstairs to another bathroom and office/bedroom. I called to speak with their office and within minutes their project manager called me back and was over within the hour. The next day their team came and we're extremely thorough and explained everything regarding what was wet/damaged and what they were doing to mitigate. 3 days with their equipment and they came back today - everything dried out. We called MKE Plumbing and the sent someone out within a few hours to take a look. Later that afternoon we received a call from the company confirming a quote and what it would take to get this project done. We have a unique situation in that our water heater is suspended from the ceiling, pretty high up above our washer/dryer, and it's also an unusual size. The company was able to book us in for an official replacement within a few days, as all they needed was to wait on the parts to arrive. Steve came on a Tuesday morning and was both approachable and accommodating. He helped my husband remove and replace the closet door blocking the space, and assisted in getting everything back in place afterward. All in all, the (seemingly tough) process took about five hours. We were charged roughly $2200, compared to quotes upwards of $3000 we received via phone from other plumping companies. Hopefully no return repairs but they certainly got a difficult job done.
