Korean House is a hidden gem! Right by an entrance to Offutt, Korean House is a great little hole in the wall restaurant. It has been around for about 40 years and the decor has been the same! My parents said that it makes them nostalgic for Korea back in the day. We are Korean and my parents are super picky about food and they said that Korean House is the best Korean food in Omaha. If you want good Korean homestyle cooking, this is the place. We moved here from Southern California where there is really good food, and my dad said their kimchi jjiagae is better than Ktown in LA. I love that they have Hawaiian style meat jun. Their jap chae is soo good and soft...I love it. And their squid too! You can't go wrong with the food here. The owner is friendly too and played with my kids when we were there and kept them occupied. :) It is a little far from us from West O but definitely worth the drive for good Korean food. read more

We had high expectations but were kind of let down when we started seeing flies roam around in the dining and kitchen area. The food was okay, but not so delicious that the poor ambiance was worth overlooking. On a hot day, the server asked me if it was alright to walk the food over to the security forces at the gate, and I thought it was odd, but I did it anyway because I felt too bad that she had to do it. The customer service is very good as the owner gives us time to order, dine in and even topped up the banchan (side dishes) even when it's already near the closing time. Came for dinner and got the House Special #10 for under $12. It comes with bulgogi, kalbi, chicken, rice, a drink and sides. It seems like the best deal on the menu, and it is more than worth the price for the amount of meat you get. I typically like bulgogi the best, then kalbi, but I honestly liked the chicken the most. It was so good. Reminded me of a really good Hawaiian marinated bbq chicken. The bulgogi and kalbi were also good. The kalbi was nicely charred and flavorful. The bulgogi was different than I've ever had it as it was a little thicker, larger and less covered in sauce. While I did miss the extra sauce to flavor my rice with, it was still good. The picked radish side was good some of the others were good palate cleaners between all the meat, but overall the sides were just ok. This little restaurant is run by two nice ladies and it's located by Offutt AFB. I went to Korean House with a friend and we ordered Chopche and Korean chicken. Both were really good. It came with rice, bean sprouts, cucumbers, Kim chee, and one other item. We also had an appetizer to start which was also good. Loved this place in Bellevue, Nebraska right outside Omaha. The food was good and Ajumma was super cool and her place is very authentic. It is right outside the back gate of Offet AB. It was like sitting down at moma's house and having her cook some great Korean food for me. The price was good and the food excellent. It is one of my favorites places to eat when I am at Offet. Highly recommend this place. I ordered a spicy chicken and it was good, but not as spicy as I like it. All the sides were traditional and great. I also had the Yakima mandy, which was excellent. Our sole Korean restaurant in the Metro has been Korean Grill. I hate to put a competitor in this review, but I think it is necessary. Both represent Korean food in very different ways, but are successful in having really tasty food. While Korean Grill slathers almost all of their meats in strongly flavored sauces, Korean Grill is very reminiscent of Korean BBQ places in Hawaii. It is grill as ordered and with no sauce. It is really good though. Korean Houses Kalbi is on point; cooked well and seasoned to perfection! The Kalbi alone is worth 5-stars. Heap that on top of the friendly service, homey feeling restaurant, and other great meats (the bulgogi was very good, the steamed mandoo and sauce were tasty, and the beef jeon/jun was good), this place is a winner. Please note the schedule; it's not open on weekends and opened during lunch and dinner, not in between. Apparently she wasn't getting enough business during the weekends as most of her clientele are servicemen from the base. It is a ways a way from most, but it is worth the drive. For those who are looking for an entry into Korean food, give this place a shot. The meats are delicious and the banchan (sides, like kimchee and sprouts) are much more mild than our fave Korean restaurants. Anyway, go and enjoy! read more

Grabbed lunch here with a buddy. This place has more seating than the other Korean restaurant, which was helpful, but it was warm where we were seating, which wasn't that far from the kitchen. If it's really hot, you should expect it to be humid inside. Overall the food was pretty good, keeping in mind that the dishes might be a little diluted to cater to a wider audience. Ordered the spicy squid and the beef. Both dishes were fine. They made the squid pretty spicy for me (maybe a little more than I could actually handle). The side dishes was ok. read more

I honestly don't know how you can give this place under five stars with their crazy delicious kalbi! I heard about this place from one of my friends and was skeptical about coming, but this little hole in the wall all the way down in Bellevue was amazing. It is a small restaurant with limited seating but lots of regular customers ( and I can see why). I usually order the Kalbi, but I have ordered the Meat Jun before also. On this occasion I also ordered some Steamed Mandoo (3.75) and Kimbap (4.50), which are also delicious. The Kalbi is lean, tasty and freshly made. It is not only delicious, but a great deal for only $11. You get a plate with a huge mound of these short ribs, a bowl of rice and a variety of different side dishes. Lived in Bellevue for over a decade and this is one of our favorite hole in the wall gems! Located near the sac entrance of offutt air force base. It's a bit hidden, but there's ample parking in their plaza. Because if it's proximity to base lunch time can get busy. But totally worth it. They have lunch and dinner menu pricing. If it's your first time going get their combo plate, comes with a grilled chicken, galbi, and bulgogi. Rice is cooked to perfection and the meat is so flavorful! They give so many different sides. A small restaurant located outside the back gate of Offutt Air Force Base. The Korean House Restaurant is worth a visit if you like Korean food or would simply like to try a different cuisine. Only 9 tables in the restaurant and the owner + 1 other work the tables, cash register, and cook the food. Prices are very reasonable, especially for lunch. Lunch specials come with rice and side dishes. There were five (5) side dishes that came with my meal of bulgogi (steak that is marinated and grilled). I had cucumber kimchi (kimchi is fermented vegetables with various seasonings), cabbage kimchi, sprouts, potatoes pieces in a sauce, and celery with a light dressing. The ladies will refill your side dishes for free. I had three bowls of the cucumber kimchi (tasty). The menu has a good variety and if the rest taste like my bulgogi, then it should be pretty decent. Korean House for me is one of those places that is really good, but I sometimes forget about. It's tucked away deep in Bellevue right outside of the Air Force Base's Northeast gates. The owners are really sweet and it's nice to stop in and grab a meal. Everything I've had from this restaurant has been pretty good, but my favorite is the Korean Short Ribs. Oh my, I could eat those forever. They have a sweet and savory taste that just makes your tongue happy. Put them on a bed of rice and let the juices flow for an extra treat. I hadn't tried the dumplings before so I figured today was a good day to order them. We liked them. I also ordered the beef and noodles for the first time and they didn't disappoint either. As far as price goes I'd say the cost is great. Some Korean places can be a little pricey, but this is very affordable with meals on average between $8.75 - $10.50. You receive plenty of food with you'r order as there is rice and veggies with most dishes. We always have leftovers. The only semi-negative mark would be that they aren't open on weekends, but that isn't a big deal. I would recommend giving it a try for sure! #OmahaFattie read more

Korean House is exactly the type of place I love: hole in the wall dive with fantastic food and owners who seem to know everyone. The bibimbop (sp?) was great with healthy, fresh ingredients. It came with the standard Korean food kimchi sides, which I'm not a fan of but my companions loved it. Delicious. Straight up delicious. This isn't a chain restaurant; this is a family restaurant. This is the real home cooking straight from Korea. The ladies that run the place are quite nice; and fun to talk to. We stayed past closing and we were all joking as they were kicking us out. I do not mean that in a bad way at all. While the hours aren't really conducive for anything but lunch, I look forward to treating myself (and some friends) to a meal at Korean House. When I have a day off but want to have lunch with the boyfriend, if it's been a while, I'll elect Korean House. As most other Korean establishments in the Omaha-Metro area, the prices are a tad steep; however, it's worth it. As I'm from Hawai`i, I know Korean food - well. The Kalbi is great - always cooked just the way I like it - a little charred so that the sugar has had time to caramelize and the salt is just coming through. Meat juhn is prepared to perfection. I have never, in all my years of coming here, experienced rubbery or overcooked products. They offer variety and they please even the most finicky palates - ask any of the service men and women who have actually BEEN to Korea... Most will tell you, this is the next best thing! read more

I crave this place! The staff is amazing! The food is even better! The Bibimbop and yakimandu are some of the best I've had. The food is always fresh and made to order. The sides change daily and are served family style. There's always 2 kinds of kimchi, sprouts and celery, with pancake, fish, or radish rotating as the 5th. The ladies who run the place are always friendly. They get to know the regulars pretty quickly. The place is small but has some character and charm.
