I don't really shop here, so this review is purely for their smoothie bar!…read more I LOVE LOVE their Mango Sticky Rice Smoothie Bowl, and my bf really likes the smoothie version! I really hope they never discontinue these because I honestly think they deserve to be on the menu all year round, especially here in Hawaii. It's even better during mango season! The Kolo Kai coconut cream and coconut yogurt they use are some of the smoothest and tastiest I've ever had. This location also happens to be the most generous with their mango slices compared to the Aiea and South King St locations. I also tried the Da Island Dragon smoothie (Bretman Rock collab) and really liked that one too! It can get pretty sweet as you keep drinking it, probably from all the fresh fruits, but it's still super yummy. One thing I noticed is that it's never really filled all the way to the top like the pictures, so that was a bit surprising when I first got it. That said, it's still a nicely packed smoothie with clean, nourishing ingredients and great flavors!

I recently had a craving to try their smoothies again and decided to go to their Kaka'ako location to see what they have now. In 2026, they've definitely expanded their smoothie/drink offerings to have all kinds of combinations like mango sticky rice and pitaya matcha which was definitely "in with the times". I decided to get their mac nut haupia smoothie (5/5) - a dessert in a cup without the guilt. I expected it to be thicker and sweeter like a milkshake but it wasn't; the subtleties of the balanced sweetness, mac nut shavings, and smoothie coconut drink base had me wanting more. DTE was great, and their Kaka'ako location makes it accessible to those who live in town who aren't close to the original McCully location. Would love to try their other smoothie options next time.

My first vegtable in Hawaii btw were from this meal. I especially loved the fresh papaya that came with it! For a sweet treat, I also got the Lilikoi Acai. The lilikoi flavor was really strong, which I thought would make it more unique, but it was just okay for me. I think next time I'd try one of their other acai options instead.

Every week they rotate in different meals, so it never feels boring or repetitive -- I actually look forward to seeing what's on the menu. Living in Hawaii, groceries are so expensive, and meal prepping used to take up so much of my time (and money). Malama Meals has not only saved me time and effort but has also helped me save money. The portions are perfect -- I get the regular-sized meals, and they always leave me feeling satisfied without that uncomfortable, overly full feeling. On top of the food being absolutely delicious and super fresh, the woman who runs it is incredibly sweet and thoughtful. She's always kind and welcoming every time I pick up my meals, and it's clear she puts so much love and care into her business. I'm so grateful that this company exists. I got here and parked right outside at just about 7, and the lights were dimmed and the door was closed and locked. There was no sign on the door about any sort of emergency closure or anything for the day, and in fact there was a young employee who was still in there and I know he saw me and he quickly scurried into the back probably to not have to reopen and help me out. I even called the store directly while I was standing outside to see if he'd answer the phone and he just let it ring. I get it Google store hours can sometimes be wrong due to lack of update but even the physical store hour sign says 8pm. It was a waste of my time and gas money to have to deal with this, and I just want the owner of this shop to be aware of employees potentially taking advantage by closing up shop before they should. I was looking to spend about $150 this trip and that's a sale that just doesn't happen when employees don't open the door for customers despite the posted hours.
