I am so glad I found Halo HVAC through Yelp! My AC stopped cooling in a heat wave and I had many…read moreother companies quoting me $200++ for diagnostics or unable/unwilling to come out for weeks. I went to Yelp looking for a better option and definitely found one! Halo was able to come out within a couple days of contacting them and the diagnostic fee was $89, which was to be applied to any work performed if needed. it turned out it was a tripped breaker they were able to reset and my system is cooling perfectly again... for $89!! The most notable and appreciated factor for me is they didn't come in trying to sell me service plans, upgrades to my system or accessories, or otherwise upsell me on a well maintained and well functioning older HVAC system. Even when I asked for a quote on a heat pump to take advantage of the rebates while they last, Halo didn't push me to pick the most expensive option or upsell me on a pricier type of system. And icing on the cake - despite a lot of in and out while working on figuring things out, my technician was constantly putting on and taking off booties to keep my house clean. It's a small token of respect that goes a long way, and I very much appreciate it! I'll be using Halo and referring them to friends and family in the future!

He's very imaginative and receptive to what I wanted to explore and he devoted plenty of time exploring alternative configurations and their comparative costs. Once the design was settled his crew came for the work. They are very impressive: courteous, professional, hard working and very attentive and accommodating . And they were just plain nice guys. We're extremely satisfied with the experience and will be back with them for future energy-saving improvements before long. Work with these folks, they're great.

MGI installed my heat pump /furnace almost a year ago. It's a great system, but the installation…read moreand subsequent follow up have been a nightmare. The installation was simply a sloppy mess. The installer used enough purple primer on the pvc exhaust pipes to float the titanic. Drips and smears everywhere. EVERYWHERE!!! Including the floor. They reused a cold air return that had numerous holes in it from pieces of the old furnace being removed. Their solution - put tape over it. Lots and lots of tape. They used sealant where the ducts enter the cold air return. Lots and lots of sealant. Sloppily applied, looked like crap. It might work, but there are gobs and gobs of sealant everywhere. Including the floor. Speaking of the floor, the installers did not bother to clean up AT ALL before they left. Sheet metal screws (17 - I counted them when I picked them up), stripped wire sheathing, the plastic tip of the sealant tube etc, all left on the floor. I'd be ashamed to leave a work area that bad. Fast forward to a month after the install. I'm on vacation and my kids tell me there is a burnt electrical smell coming from the furnace area and there's no heat. MGI sends out a tech and tells me a sensor was connected to house current at the install instead of a stepped down current. The sensor is black, partially melted, and scorched. Not what I wanted to hear on vacation with my kids in the house. Next up is the humidifier. The house seems to be a bit dry, and I'm wondering why, because the humidifier is brand new, installed by MGI at the same time as the furnace. A tech came out to look at it, and tells me it's not working because it's not hooked up. It's physically there, attached to the cold air return, as it should be, but it's not connected to the humidistat, so it's never worked since the installation. They just forgot to connect it. After complaining to MGI, they sent a team out in an attempt to make things right. They replaced the cold air return to get rid of the old one with all that tape over the holes, but they did a sloppy job connecting the return ducts. Never in my life have I seen that much sealant so sloppily applied to duct work. ( duct work properly attached is almost airtight and needs minimal sealant. MGI used several tubes, and it looks like crap). I find MGIs staffed to be undertrained and generally unskilled. Their work habits are sloppy, and their skills are marginal at best. The system ( a Daikin) is a very good system. But the quality of installation is marginal at best. At this point I'm done with MGI, and will be using a different company to service the system they installed. I STRONGLY recommend going elsewhere for your HVAC needs.
