After my first transaction with A-1 I would have given them five stars. Another HVAC company had shown up to replace a bearing in my Carrier furnace, and ended up red-tagging my furnace in the dead of winter and insisted that I buy a new furnace. I called A-1 for a second opinion and they came promptly and informed me that the previous company had reached in with a screwdriver and scratched my heat exchanger and claimed that it was a crack. A-1 assured me there was no crack and took the red-tag off of my furnace and turned it back on. Saved me a ton of money! My most recent experience with A-1 wasn't so rewarding. I called A-1 to come and replace my heat sensor in my furnace and the technician was great; however, upon reviewing my bill, I noticed that it was really vague as to what I paid for. So I called to request an itemized invoice which separated labor from parts. The owner ended up talking to me on the phone and told me he couldn't do this and then preceded to get real defensive and offered me some money back. I told him I didn't wan't to take money from his company, I simply wanted to know how much the parts costed A-1 and how much (exactly) I was paying for labor. He still refused to give me an itemized invoice, gave me a lecture on the "cost of business" (which I totally understand), and offered to give me up to half of my money back. I told him, once again, to keep the money, as that was not my issue, and to email me an invoice itemizing the parts separate from labor. He agreed to and the call ended there. That was three months ago and I still haven't heard back from A-1. It seems real shady to me that a business owner would offer to refund money rather than tell his customers the truth about exactly what they're paying for, then turn around and lie about sending an itemized invoice. read more

A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning Services is my absolute go-to! I won't use anyone else! We have had great experiences every time A-1 has been out to check on our air conditioner and heating unit! Their service plan is absolutely unmatched in value! Unfortunately we did have to take advantage of that value when our heater stopped working and we were out of the country. The folks at A-1 are the only company we would trust to help us fix our problem while we were that far away! ...and guess what?!! The fix was covered because we had our service plan active! Not only does the company do a fantastic job, but I've had the pleasure of getting to know the owners, Slade and Shanna, over the past number of years! Let me tell you, these folks are great people! Listening to them speak about how to avoid big bills with an HVAC company speaks to their unmatched integrity, which absolutely flows into their business! I personally know many other people (and have referred a number of them) who use A-1, and everyone is completely satisfied with their work, new units, the employees, and the service provided. I've also had the opportunity to candidly speak to one of the employees while he was servicing my heater; this gentleman couldn't speak highly enough about Slade and Shanna, and how much he loves working for them! Absolutely fantastic!! Our furnace gave out on us the day before the temperature dropped, of course. After trouble shooting and locating the part, A-1 had an extremely quick turn around and the part was already in stock to fix it!!
