I was charged a dematting fee of 50 dollars for two dogs, but all my dogs were shaved downed even the one that wasn't matted. My wife almost cried when she woke up from her nap and saw the dogs haircuts. When I paid for them, I assumed my wife told the groomer to cut them this short, but she didn't. I feel like if they were just going to be shaved down I could have took them to PetSmart for half the price or shaved them myself. This is the exact review I left this place and someone responded explaining that they were sorry for not communicating that the dogs needed to be completely shaved and the groomer just assumed since my other two matted dogs needed to be shaved it was ok to give the unmated dog the exact same ugly haircut.

I emailed a few shops but no only responded. I finally called Le Paw and they scheduled her for two days out. Dropped her off and staff was introduced to us. They all seemed really nice and friendly. I got a call that she was covered in ticks. A couple of weeks back I left her with her mom and dad and they have ticks so I wasn't surprised. I pick her up and she's absolutely adorable. Looking like a fine poodle. They did an amazing job. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because I wasn't told removing the ticks would be an additional $50! I would have agreed to it of course but when you're on a strict budget $50 is a lot. Especially in these hard times. I had to be sure I could afford her grooming before finally booking her appointment in the first place.

Diane took care of us while we shopped, she was very nice and helpful. She went as far as offering a bow for my Penny and the groomer in the back come out and teach me how to put it on. I thought…read morethey were certainly higher priced than other groomers, but since they were near my new location I thought it would be convenient. I thought I was getting my dog a bath, nail reduction (with dremel tool) and gland expression (which cost 10 dollars more) out the door for about $50. Again, more than I had usually found for the basics. To my surprise, when I went to check out they decided to charge me over $20 for additional brushing they had to do for heavy shedding. Ugh, folks, I've gone to groomers with this dog for the last 8 years, in two counties, and never had someone throw that one at me as not being part of the bathing process, especially since we already had an agreed upon price for Polished Pups services. I have no complaint about their work; however, having been a contractor for 40 years, before I retired, I know you don't switch prices on a client at the end of a job...especially with no warning or discussion before you throw a new charge at them. I won't return to this business, not because of poor work, but because of poor business practices. I was just glad to get out the door with my dog and leave Polished Pups in the dust.

So the pricing was extremely high. Not only that, my dogs breed is not to have their hair cut shorter than 1 inch. I specified this before the service and thought the owner of the salon would know this already. My dog came out with fur less than half an inch in some areas, the longest at half an inch max. So his under coat could possibly be damaged and not grow back because of this mistake. At such a high cost for a groom, I expected a better outcome.
