Let's start off by agreeing that learning to sail sounds- 1:…read moresuper fun 2: hard Go Sail Arizona, and Cpt Clint made learning super fun, and he did it in a way that made it understandable. In his first few minutes Saturday morning he warned us that he will talk ALOT. Yea- no lie, the man had a lot to say. What was awesome, was that everything he said worked together to teach you how to understand sailing. If you want to go to a class where it's all book oriented and set for a test- this is not the place for you. If you want to understand the principles of sailing- to really understand it, Clint is the guy. I took the test and aced it. I know you probably are thinking "Brendan, your super educated and smarter than Spock" and maybe that's true. But I think I aced the test because Clint taught me how to understand the principles of sailing. I have a few pieces of advice- 1- hit the head (bathroom) before you launch. 2- read the book, don't memorize it 3- leave your ego home. Remember, you don't know how to sail. Accept correction, don't justify or make excuses. Be like an 8 year old kid who is truly curious and willing to learn. 4- make sure you have water and snacks. 5- sunscreen and protection is good. 6- hide some bananas in your bag. If you make a mistake offer it to Clint. It's his favorite food. That's my opinion, and if you've read this far, your probably Clint or a super curious person. If your Clint- thanks again man, that was the best experience I've had in years. If your a super curious person- just pull the trigger, what do you have to lose?

We are both retired and on social security so appare we were an easy mark. We paid up front because he said he needed us to so he could order parts he never ordered. A second appraisal revealed that many of the repairs did not get done and revealed two to five times the cost of what most RV Mechanics would charge. We disputed the charges with PayPal and won allowing us to recover some of our loss. All in, he charged over $10,000 and we recovered about $3,300. Stay away from this guy!!

I called him out to help with my truck not starting. He charged me $180 just to come out. Only as soon as he got the part he said it actually wasn't the coil and he needed to test more things. Stood around chatting for a couple hours with about 15 non consecutive minutes of work put into the engine he said he needed to take his wife home and never came back. He didn't do anything but unplug the coil and leave with my $295! Oh and get this, he spent a good portion of the time just virtue signaling, telling me how he doesn't understand why people don't respect each other blah blah blah then steals my money! Keep in mind I do not live in Arizona, I'm just driving through and I'm poor af. So now I had to find another mechanic and pay to have it towed to the shop because I can't trust these sleazy "mobile mechanics"

He was also looking at his phone, searching for music while driving 85 MPH in the high speed lane. Sure, he was quite knowledgeable about Sedona and Jerome but, our lives were at risk. When I stopped by the shop on a Friday to rent a regulator, the employees immediately greeted me and engaged me in conversation; they made me feel at home. Then on Sunday, I boarded the Diver Down and received the same warm welcome and friendly treatment from the boat's entire crew. The shop's boat, the Diver Down, likewise impressed me. It's a clean, well-maintained, and well-organized pontoon boat, with ample under-bench storage and walkways. I quite also like the lack of scuppers along the bench's underside; it's a small detail, but I knew that if my stuff got loose, it couldn't slide into the drink. Plus, the Diver Down features a well-organized and well-stocked supply of weights, as well as complimentary water and soft drinks. It's a nice ride. Similarly, the regulator I rented from Cyborg Pirate showed me that they're a serious shop. It was in excellent condition, with a DIN connection and a well-considered mix of rubber and braided hoses. Clearly, these folks are serious divers and aim to serve people of the same mindset. And, of course, the dives themselves were excellent. We anchored off an underwater hill that started at 35' and descended to well over 100', where my insta-buddy -- the boat's normal captain, who was fun-diving for the day -- led me on a deep dive into the 40'+ viz area at depth. Then, for the second dive, one of the divemasters arranged a friendly search-and-recovery competition. I didn't win, but I still had a great time. All told, my experience with Cyborg Pirate deeply impressed me. I recommend this shop, and I'll definitely go back again.

We are new to the Scuba World and had recently got our certification and went for a refresher. Luigi patiently worked with us on our buoyancy and feeling comfortable at 60 feet underwater. At the shop, the employees talked me out of purchasing certain items. This showed me the integrity of this company by having me not purchase items I did not need. The good: very easy to rent a kayak; I arrived 15 minutes early and they were fine with me starting…read moreearly. I rented for 1 hour. The price, $23, is very reasonable considering that a one day pass to go on Tempe Town Lake is $10. I am an experienced kayaker so brought my own kayaking clothes, PFD, dry bags, paddle, and cart. Moving the kayak from the store to the water was easy. The bad: the kayak was very slow , tracking was marginal,, and it handled a light chop poorly. My time was almost up and I was heading back to the dock when I realized I was sinking. My PFD kept me safe but my paddle leash, secured to my seat strap, came loose. The strap had unhooked from the gunnel. So there I was floating in the water with my paddle while the kayak floated away. I was able to swim to a nearby dock and a young man pulled me out. Then he used a life ring on a rope to pull in the kayak. My deepest gratitude goes out to him. The guy at Northshore said I might have taken a kid's kayak but their website makes no mention of this option and there were no signs on the rack. Except for asking if I was ok, Northshore has been completely unhelpful.
