It appears he did not want to serve guests based on racial appearance, or possibly guests with children. When confronted about why he wouldn't seat us, in Japanese, he became uncomfortable and gave us a business card. No business should treat customers this way in 2024.

The chef, a true Japanese in love with Florence, is in the open kitchen, showing his art to everyone, making delicious specialties like the frittata and marinated anchovies. Prices are really fair, wine is included in the 15 € menu, together with the soup and a plate of nigiri (sometimes if you get lucky it's mozzarella di bufala's nigiri day, try and see for yourself). Home style Japanese food! Best service in town!…read more This is real home style casual Japanese fare. The staff and kitchen are all Japanese and the food is wonderful. There are constantly crowds of Japanese people here both tourist and local resident which is testament to the quality of food. I can't speak to the Italian menu since I exclusively stick to their Japanese selection. Great udon, tofu dishes, and Japanese style curry as well.
