As someone who has been in the event industry for over 40 years, I can confidently say that Kombert Caterers at Temple Avodah in Oceanside is truly next level. We recently celebrated my son Jarret's wedding to his beautiful bride Alexa there, and the experience was nothing short of spectacular. Kenny, Mary, and their incredible team left me absolutely blown away, and that's not easy to do after decades in this business! The quality of the food was phenomenal, the service was flawless, and the attention to every single detail was on point from beginning to end. There are a lot of great venues out there, but very few are purely exceptional, and Kenny is absolutely at the top of that list. And it's not just me saying it, our guests are still calling and texting us, raving about how incredible the food was and how professional and attentive the staff was throughout the night. No matter where you're from, if you're looking to create an unforgettable event with class, warmth, and style, Kombert Caterers is the place. Reach out to Kenny..... you will not be disappointed. In fact, you'll probably be as AMAZED as I still am. read more

If I could give Kombert Caterers 100 stars I would. We recently celebrated our daughter's Bat Mitzvah at Kombert Caterers at Temple Avodah and it was nothing short of magical! From the very first meeting with Mary and Kenny to the final dance of the night, every detail was handled with such care, professionalism, and genuine warmth. The venue itself is elegant and welcoming -- and it provided the perfect backdrop for such a meaningful and joyful occasion. The staff went well above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. They were attentive, organized, and always one step ahead, which allowed us to fully relax and enjoy the celebration. Our guests are still raving about the delicious food, the outstanding service and the seamless flow of the evening. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! Kombert Caterers is truly exceptional -- the gold standard for what every venue and caterer should aspire to be. Thank you, Kombert Caterers -- especially Mary and Kenny -- for helping us create memories that our family will cherish forever! read more

This was our dream venue after attending a bat mitzvah here 4 years ago and comparing every wedding to it since. Their food and premises is unlike any other. We had our wedding here a few weeks ago on a Sunday and it was perfect in every way. Our guests are still raving about the amazing cocktail hour and unreal dessert presentation. Working with Kenny and Mary was a pleasure. And they do a package for Sunday weddings that includes a base package for florist, dj (can eliminate if you want a band), and photographer/ videographer. AND these vendors were amazing (florist: dalsimer spitz and peck, photo/ video: ira Rosen studio/ Lou Lou photography). We can't say enough good things about the venue and pray we convinced some guests to get married here so we can go back as guests! Truly no one does it better. They are a tightly run ship and allow you to purely enjoy the best night of your life! read more

Late to getting to making a review, but Kenny and Mary and rest of staff went above and beyond for our sons bar mitzvah. We did a twilight party but felt like the party went into the night. The only complaint was that it was over before we knew it. Don't go anywhere else to have a wedding or another event. read more

Probably the best caterer on Long Island My daughters wedding 4/3/2017 could not have been any better. Thank you Kenny, Mary and your whole staff. AMAZING night. read more

I don't know how many wedding guests there were, but the cocktail hour could not comfortably accomodate all the people. There was minimal seating and it was very crowded. The various food I and my boyfriend tried was cold, even the plated dinner, but it was very good. All, but my vegetable terrine atop a faux meat patty. Unappetizing. So I turned to my boyfriend's meal. What a flawless piece of beef. It barely made it into my mouth when it melted into a wonderful tidal of juicy flavor. Bravo to the caterer. I was delighted by the m.c. He was appropriately spirited and the role suited him so well. One tall gentleman stood awkwardly on the dance floor corner, like a scowling bouncer. If he was in charge or floor manager, he should be less conspicuous. An overall pleasant experience. read more

Where do I begin...my wedding reception was on June 29,2019 & up until guest are calling / texting telling us it was the best wedding ever. Guest were well attended to and well fed. Everyone said every second you turned around food was being served. The dessert was phenomenal. As a bride I enjoyed every moment - I was truly treated like a princess which of course I loved! My Maitre'd was absolutely the best - she was amazing at everything from helping me in the restroom to ensuring I was well hydrated. Everything Kenny told me about from all the planning really came true & Kenny definitely knows what he's doing. I will definitely recommend Kombert - worth it & the experience is amazing. read more

Where do we start... My now wife and I just had our wedding at Temple Avodah with Kombert Caterers. They were the first venue we met with and after spending thirty minutes with Kenny we immediately knew we had found our wedding venue. We have heard so many horror stories over the years about other weddings at other venues and we just could see that the level of competence and compassion that Kombert Caterers displayed would ensure zero chance of anything going wrong. The communication throughout the year leading up to the wedding was top notch. We never had any emails or phone calls go unanswered. They were so patient and accommodating in the weeks leading up to the wedding as well and truly made sure that we had everything in place in advance to eliminate any last minute running around or forgetting anything. Mary is a MUST for anyone getting married here. She was truly unbelievable. She made sure the night of our wedding was the greatest night of our lives. When we showed up with our wedding party early they had an unbelievable spread of food and alcohol waiting for us. THEIR FOOD IS AMAZING. The cocktail hour was by far the best anyone has ever experienced. The party was beautiful and the DESSERT!!! OMG!! People are still raving. As a side note the Rabbi who married us (Rabbi Goren) was also UNBELIEVABLE. We were told by friends that already were married that something would go wrong the day of our wedding..at least one thing and we need to just realize it would all work out and not let it ruin our time. They did not get married at avodah though with Kombert because then they all would not have even thought there was a chance. Literally EVERYTHING was perfect.. not one thing went wrong. It's all thanks to Kenny and Mary. (Also Andrew who is another manager there was awesome). If you are getting married at a temple on Long Island and don't do it here you're truly making a mistake. Kombert Caterers does an outstanding events. Weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, parties and dinners. Known for the best salad on the South Shore of Long Island (if not the whole Island and the whole NY state) the praline salad is not to be missed. Order the Salmon, its delicious. Kenny Kombert makes every event special. I'd give 6 starts due to the second helping of salads. :) read more

I'm honored to write a review for Kenny. He throws an amazing affair and anyone who considers them and goes elsewhere would definitely be disappointed. Everything from start to finish was amazing. He is paramount in everything he does. He is innovative and makes everything look so impressive. I can't say enough. Also Mary is worth every penny for her butler service. It's like there are 5 of her, she is everywhere. read more

From the first phone call with Mary, to schedule our meeting with Kenny, we instantly felt comfortable and at ease. After meeting with Kenny we knew we had to have our wedding at Temple Avodah with Kombert Caterers. It was the first and only venue that we went to see. We met with Kenny on a Saturday afternoon and by Monday morning we had officially booked our wedding date. Kenny and Mary were AMAZING to work with. Every email was always answered in the timely manner - we even received responses in the evenings, after work hours. Mary was always available through email, text or for a phone call. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, from information to advice, she did it all. Kenny made sure everything ran smoothly and every detail was accounted for, from our first meeting, leading up to and the day of our wedding. He was there for the entire event to see everything through. Our Bridal attendant and Matr'd were also phenomenal. Before the wedding ceremony my mom's strap broke on her shoe and they were able to somehow fix it so she was able to wear them. Later on, the bridesmaids also found that my bustle had broken and they quickly sprang into action and sewed it up, before I walked into the reception. Almost three months later our guests are still raving about our wedding. From the phenomenal food, to the exceptional service they provided. The cocktail hour is out of this world with items like champagne popsicles, truffle mac and cheese, and a wide variety of stations - a grilled cheese station, a tapas and tequila station, a southern comfort station (paired with moonshine lemonade), a deli station, a pasta station and everything in between. We had five choices of entrees (filet mignon, chicken, duck, salmon, and vegetable), which were all enjoyed by our guests. The desserts are another unique and unlike anything you have seen anywhere else. They walk around from table to table offering a wide variety of desserts and after dinner drinks - we had a s'mores station where they actually roasted the marshmallows in front of you, hot pretzels, ice cream sundaes, sorbet in fruit cups, a cordial bar and just about anything you could think of or want for dessert and it was all phenomenal. Most of our guests have said it was by far the best wedding they have ever been to, with the best food and amazing, attentive, service. Each table of guests claimed that they received the best service from the staff. Our wedding was everything we could have dreamed of and more and we owe it all to Kenny, Mary and the entire Kombert Staff ! read more

I very rarely give 5-star reviews....they have to be earned. This group delivers an absolute top notch experience where they truly over-deliver. The food was outstanding, the service impeccable and don't even get me started about the dessert....it is an experience to say the least. I was getting calls the next day from guests saying how much they loved the affair. Doesn't matter if the temple location is a concern for anyone, but if you want an amazing affair where nothing is overlooked, this is the place you need to visit. read more

The presentation of all the food at the cocktail hour was impeccable. The food they all said was the best they have ever had. They were raving about the service. The dinner and of course the deserts were over the top and they never experienced anything like it. We knew it was a little far from where everyone was coming from but knew once they experienced it they would understand why we did it at Avodah and they all did. Thank you both for everything. Kenny your attention to detail is unbelievable!! Mary no words---just the hugest thank you! From the moment we stepped into Avodah to the moment we left you were so beyond helpful. We have been to a few weddings and bar mitzvah's here. The food is as good as it gets. The appetizers are so delicious, that you wind up wrapping up your dinner and take it home .
