Found this gem on our drive to Rapid City. A clean and spacious coffee shop that serves great sandwiches and soup. I had a turkey chipotle panini sandwich with tomato soup. The spouse had a club with broccoli cheese soup. The amount of food was just right. My recommendation is go the extra mile to eat here. read more

I would schedule my drive down I-90 to make sure that I was able to have lunch at Cafe Teresa in Mitchell, SD. It was that good. The club sandwich is highly recommended. Four of five in our party ordered it and really enjoyed it. Among the very best club sandwiches I have had anywhere during my travels across the USA. A culinary highlight of our four day journey across the upper mid-west on I-90. Menu is limited but should fulfill most any traveling family's desires. Prices were very reasonable. Just left Teresa's where we stopped for a quick lunch on our way west to the Badlands. Chose this cafe based on the generally positive reviews, but we were sadly disappointed. Our sandwiches were mediocre and overpriced, and the only worker we interacted with was mildly unpleasant. We arrived at 11:06, which, we learned the hard way, is six minutes too late for breakfast. After breakfast hours, the only vegetarian option is a sad grilled cheese for $6. My vegetarian co-pilot went with it. The panini was only 3/4 grilled, had just two thin slices of cheese, and a sauce that seemed to add nothing tastewise. It came with a side of meh pasta salad. I had a turkey panini, which was fine, but felt pricy at $7.50. It comes on sourdough with three slices of turkey, cheese, lettuce, and two slices of tomato (which I mercifully contributed to the boring grilled cheese). My side was cottage cheese. Based on our on-road Yelping, this may be the best option in Mitchell, but if you're also going through Sioux Falls too, wait an extra hour (or eat an hour earlier) and try the tacos at Nikki's La Mexicana. read more

This place has excellent coffee, food, wine, and ambiance. The sandwiches and salads are all made with fresh ingredients and are delicous. This is the perfect place to stop after visiting the Corn Palace before heading back down I-90 for a long drive. It also seems to get all the local traffic which is a big indicator that the good service is consistent. They have big cozy couches to sit and read and a fabulous wine bar adjacent to their expresso machine. The decor is comfortable and includes a great fireplace to keep warm during the winter. This is the best coffee shop (+) cafe in Mitchell! read more

This is my 100th Yelp review! This place made a good panini , but didn't really wow me. We came here for lunch after visiting the Corn Palace. We shared a turkey panini and the deviled egg potato salad. The turkey was quite good, with a little spice to it and the portion of turkey was generous. The service was very helpful and friendly. They also serve coffee, cookies and ice cream, but we didn't try those. I would recommend this little cafe if you ever need a bite to eat in Mitchell. read more

We stopped at Cafe Teresa before a visit to the Corn Palace and were pleased with the food. (Another Yelper compared the place to Panera, and I think that's an apt description.) It does seem a bit expensive for the amount of food you get, though, and I would change a couple of things. My son's grilled cheese sandwich was pressed so flat (maybe on a panini grill?) that it looked really small. The sides that come with the sandwiches are also a tiny cup of whatever it is. And the dressing on the Caesar salad could definitely be tastier. However, compared to the food that is often available for travelers, this was very good. It IS fresh, the atmosphere is nice, and the people who work there are friendly. We were pleased that we stopped there for lunch. read more

Elixir has been opened since around April. And since then it has turned into a weekly stop for any meetings, tasks I need to get done, my coffee fix, or just to get out of the office. The staff is friendly and the people in this town are friendly. Which makes sitting in this coffee shop on a weekday afternoon very enjoyable. Whether you are stopping by to see the corn palace, or you live in the area. I highly recommend this place for food or coffee. Cozy and clean little cafe that can be expected in most of the mid-west little town. Got a quick lunch during the road trip today, we got a turkey panini and a chef salad. The staff were pretty friendly and food was quick, fresh and delicious. The coleslaw on my panini side was absolutely freshly made, surprising and pleased. One thing to give credit on specially is their Chai tea. I was never a fan of the Chai teas I had previously but somehow decided to give it a try today. Very mild, creamy and yummy. We drove here from over an hour away for breakfast on our road trip, due to the Yelp reviews. We got here 40 min after they stopped serving breakfast (ends at 11 am), which we didn't know before our arrival. Although they had already long-stopped serving breakfast, they made accommodations to make us breakfast and re-dirty what they had just put away. The staff was super accommodating and generous and made us Chicagoans feel very welcome! Great food and coffee (the drip coffee has free refills, wahoo!) and beautiful cafe!! Came to Mitchell for the all-state middle school orchestra concert. Didn't think I would find a place like this in Mitchell. We had the Reuben and the Cafe Club. The ingredients are so fresh and the flavors just right. I had to order additional to take home. read more

We stopped for lunch after visiting the Corn Palace. What an eclectic little restaurant! Our sandwiches were tasty and prepared as ordered and the pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting was the perfect treat. So much better than a greasy burger and fries. Reasonably priced too! read more

I used to live in MItchell and now stop by to visit family. I always make a point to go to this cafe. It has amazing coffee and treats. Their cookies are outstanding. Yum! Delicious coffee, nice staff, and surprisingly nice interior. Seriously, this coffee was as good as house roasted coffee in New York and Philly, but cheaper. and the inside is comfortable and modern, a pleasant contrast to the 50s style main drag just outside. Good stop for a light lunch of a sandwich and coffee. Large seating area and brightly lit. The roast beef wrap and coleslaw were both very good. The hubs had grilled cheese which got his stamp of approval. They do close the kitchen at 3:00, we barely made it, but the employee/barista didn't seem upset that we were cutting it close. read more
