They are quite busy, this shop. I had stopped by on a day when they only had one barista and a long line waiting for their orders or to place orders. They didn't have a lot of room in there, but they do have more than just boba, tea and other drinks. They a variety of snacks, too. Besides that, they also have 2 kiosks you can order from so the barista doesn't have to take it if they're busy- which is nice and convenient. I ordered a Mi Amor drink without any toppings. I reduced the ice and sweetness level, which is a normal for me. The drink was okay. It's very middle of the line drink. I would love to come back and try other drinks on the menu because the barista was really friendly and patient despite being the only one working during an unexpectedly busy day- definitely something I appreciated. read more

As a big bubble tea fan, I'm always on the lookout for new spots, so I decided to check this place out when I was nearby. Location: It's tucked inside a small strip mall, so it can be easy to miss. There's parking available in the front, as well as some spots in the back, though you'll need to walk around to the front if you park back there. Inside: The shop is quite small. There's a table for two awkwardly placed in the middle, surrounded by shelves stocked with snacks, as well as a couple of order kiosks. They also have a printed menu, but I tend to prefer checking out pictures or more detailed descriptions when deciding on a drink. Service: The staff was very friendly! The two women who helped me were welcoming, and when I asked about the place, they pointed out the owner, who was also nice. The girl who took my order was super helpful in walking me through the process. Drinks: They offer three sizes: small, regular, and bucket size. You can also add boba or flavored poppers for an additional 80 cents. I ordered the Mi Amore, and it was delicious and refreshing! Overall: I would definitely recommend this spot. They have a solid selection of drinks, and the service is warm and helpful. My only gripe is the ordering process and the use of kiosks (I prefer a more traditional, visual menu). On the menu it says teas starting at $3.95. The Luv Potion is priced at $6, Sweet Vibes is priced at $4.95, and taro is $4.99. Not sure if they actually have any drinks that are base price at $3.95... If prices are going to be this dramatically different, then each menu item should list their price. Also not listed on the menu to have a drink in slush form its $.30 more. Boba is $.70. They are really going to need to adjust their prices for when Kung Fu Tea moves into town. The same order at Kung Fu would have been 3/4 of that price. On top of that I order boba and they ran out of it! And the only milk they had was whole milk. Might as well just have told me I didn't not have the option to choice a different milk or to order boba. Lastly the teas are mediocre. The luv potion is just too much going on. Lots of their drinks do not taste like you are ordering from a boba tea place. The slush form is not worth it. It is very icy, they really need to work on the consistency. Interior and overall looks of this place need a major makeover. Owner put little to no work into designing and making it nice or modern like other boba shops.. 1/10 for decor & interior/exterior. The bubble tea here itself was mediocre. It wasn't the greatest but it wasn't the worst either. I guess if you really want your fix or boba you can go here. Some items are very hit or miss. I've been going to this place for years. The owner and staff really show that they care about their drinks. There are always new, interesting experimental flavors to keep the menu fresh, as well as classics and old favorites that are authentic. I follow them on Insta to keep up with news and new drinks when they release. Brandon and his wonderful staff are always attentive and chill, and are receptive to feedback and thoughts. It's clear that they strive to do their best, and often succeeds. In addition to a variety of drinks, they also serve refreshing rolled ice cream any time of year, and provide lots of cool merch. This used to be my favorite quick boba tea spot. What happened? There are now little cheap items for sale all over the walls. It looks like a cheap dollar store now. Lately, me and the misses have been on a Boba kick and have been venturing for the best of the best...this was not it. Arriving at our destination in a not so inviting strip mall style business park we entered Koi hoping for an awesome experience. Granted Koi would need to battle with our previous 5* contenders (Kung Fu tea in Charlottesville, Gigi tea time in Richmond and Teas n' You in Vienna) we were ready to give them a chance. The interior is cramped but seemed to be well kept. 75% of the business was tea making equipment/ingredients. On entering, we had trouble locating a menu, the drink menus are kept on clipboards by the registers in case you were wondering. As for the toppings menu it is located on a small board off to the side of the registers. The staff were very friendly but somewhat slow compared to the quickness of the other places I mentioned previously. Now to the teas themselves. I bought 2 for myself and she had 1. I thought I was making a safe bet in case I didn't like the seasonal tea, Pot of gold punch tea. It was a weird citrus flavor that was ok but I learned on that day that I don't like "popping bubbles" filled with chemically tasting gel. On to my second drink, taro with coconut milk. I was a little confused because it looked as if my bubbles were dissipating into the tea, actually melting and the flavor was not of taro - stale. Two down, maybe we can salvage this trip with hers. She had a Matcha tea made with coconut that just wasn't good, tasted off. In the end, $15 wasted and all teas went into a trash can down the road. I may give Koi another try but definitely not until after we go to some other Boba places. read more

I went to Koi tea because I was craving boba, but they let me down. I'm giving them three stars because I'm hoping it was just a off handed day that I went, but they were out of boba when I went. I was more upset because there's essentially two things Koi Tea serves and it's teas and ice cream and the most popular topping to the teas is boba. Walked into the store at 8:45pm to be told by the two ladies behind the counter that they are no longer serving boba or ice cream past 8:45pm. That's literally everything on the menu. One star off for slow service and my husband's bubble tea. When we walked in there were only two other customers. One worker was on break sitting at the table on her phone and one young lady working behind the counter. She was very friendly and helpful. Took our order, 2 bubble teas and one rolled ice cream. A couple walked in as she was making our tea. She took their order, finished making our tea and handed them to us. She then proceeded to make the couple's tea instead of finishing our ice cream order. I totally get why she did that, bc she wanted to get the tea orders out the way since the ice cream takes a bit more time to make. Her coworker finally went back around the counter to help but my thing is...why your ass didnt go help her earlier? You gonna wait til she almost done? Wow ok. I think she was new too. Anyways, the newbie struggled making the rolled ice cream but managed to get it done. We got the strawberry fun with peach toppers and chocolate whip cream. It was fresh and tasted delicious, better than your usual ice cream. The rolled ice cream has now become our first ice cream option! My hubby asked for the bubble milk tea with highest sweetness...unfortunately it was not even medium sweet. My hubby is african american so of course his joking self blurts out "I should have asked for black people sweet" lol. I tasted it and it was definitely not even Asian sweet(which is low sweetness). He was very disappointed and said he was just drinking regular milk with bubbles...poor man. I ordered the Mi Amor which is passion fruit rose green tea with low sweetness (Asian sweet lol) and I thought mine was perfect. Since we were just traveling through and dont frequent this area, we probably wont be back. We have plenty of choices in NoVA that offers great bubble tea and rolled ice cream. read more

I continuously give this place the benefit of the doubt, but each time they fall short. Today was my final straw. I came today to order milk tea with boba. The two young ladies tell me there is no regular boba for the next 15 minutes (which frequently seems to happen at this location, so I was disappointed yet again.) I accept my drink as is, and even though I asked for a level 6 sweetness, it tasted as though they poured the entire bag of sugar in. I ask if they can either refund me or exchange, and they refused. I then ask for the manager, who they say is "not available." Now I'm speechless. So I now have a drink I cannot finish, and not even get an exchange? What a terrible business this is. Great little gem tucked away in a strip mall. The building isn't much but the tea and ice cream are great. Comical to me to see people comparing the available stafford boba scene to that of Richmond - Guys, it's Stafford. It's a fabulous experience for those of us who live locally and want some great tea or a sweet treat. Our kids lovingly refer to the ice cream as sushi ice cream since it's rolled up. This place is bad! First of all I love boba tea and I've tried a bunch of places and this one is the worst. Their boba was not round and soft , it was compact and hard and some were soft as if they didn't let it soak enough. They didn't add enough mixture into my tea so it tasted like pure milk one time. Two times I went here and my bobas were firm and hard and not how the bubbles are supposed to be. The woman there ran out of boba and I saw her scrapping for the left bits and so she left my drink with barely any and they were hard! Very hard! Merge cafe nearby and kungfu tea nearby are way better. On a side note when I pulled up the windows were fogged out and when I went inside it was so humid and hot there was water droplets inside everywhere , on the walls etc. that can't be good. I guess the AC broke and it's very crowded and small inside and there's only one employee so you often have to wait if she's in the bathroom or if there's multiple people in there. But my boba was bad! It was only okay once. I got the same drink 3 times and 3 times it was different . read more

Super cute shop! I went with a group of like 8 of us and they served us quickly! We all got something different and not one of us was disappointed with our choices. I had the mango lemonade slush and it was so good! It was super refreshing! My second favorite was the horchata! I might be biased though on that one since I'm a huge horchata fan. We've been going to Koi Tea for at least 25+ times now and joined their point system. Turns out, we have less than a dozen points as they don't always record it and the point system is not based on dollar amount spent. So you can buy 5-6 drinks at a time but get only one point when they record it. Also, we've ordered almost the same thing every time but interestingly the price can vary seemingly every other time. Lastly, a boba drink is actually sold without boba unless you pay extra for it, which is not the case in most boba tea shop in northern virginia which probably have a higher lease due to real estate premium up there, thus these guys are real ripoff, considering they aren't selling fresh products but powered drinks. They get two stars because the drinks are decent but unreasonably priced and the inconsistency in pricing and bogus point system is not worth it anymore. I'll gladly support all local HONEST businesses but this one is not one of them. read more

I've only been here 4 times and only in the last 30 days. 3 of those times, they have run out of Boba. I appreciate that it takes a certain amount of time to cook the boba. The staff said it would be at least 30 minutes before they had more ready, today. My question, why do they not realize it is running low before they run out? Stopped here on a road trip from DC to Richmond. It was the only place in the area that showed up in a search for bubble tea nearby. I figured even if it wasn't amazing, it would satisfy my boba craving. No. I ordered a matcha milk tea and the drink was white. There was no hint of green color. Totally fine if it still tastes good. Nerp. The tea was almost grainy (but thin?!) and the bubbles were slimy and looked like mud in the bottom of my cup. I tried way more sips than I should have, in hopes it would get better. I had to chuck the entire drink in the trash and stop at Wawa for a bottle of Pure Leaf. The reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the staff was extremely nice ... and because all of the customers ahead of me ordered rolled ice cream; they all seemed satisfied with their choices and it really did look good. Maybe they should just give up the boba game and stick with ice cream. read more

I didn't even know that this place was so close to my house, until my husband sent me on a errand to get him Thai iced tea and their free leche ice cream. Upon ordering my husband's order, I came to a pause because I was asked how sweet I wanted it (low, medium or high). This was the first for me, so I had to give the husband a call to make sure it was too his liking. Now I ordered myself a milk tea with boba and OH MY GOODNESS!!! I loved how the boba was in many tiny little balls versus the big ones where you could choke. It gave me a little peace knowing if I ever got one for my toddlers they would be okay with boba inside. The milk tea was awesome as well, made to my liking high sweet. :) I did have a little snip it of my husband's ice cream and that was AMAZING! Made me want more. read more
