I gave this Kohr's another chance and while prices continue to rise, their product is delicious. The portion is about the same size as a couple years ago, and while a cone may look small in the photo, I'll say that it's dense. Their custard is a very thick product and tasty too. You can add sprinkles, upgrade to a sugar cone, waffle cone and do who knows what else to make it a $10 ice cream cone. Lol Parking is difficult here, but you can walk off your ice cream when you park a few blocks away. They do accept credit card, as they should with these prices! If you don't want to see a long line, try visiting in the afternoon and it'll be empty. Weekdays aren't as busy as weekends too. read more

I had been to kohrs many times and you can't go wrong with their soft serve. Sprinkles at this location are a dollar upcharge though which feels steep. I chose to try to dole whip instead of my normal soft serve and while it was good, it definitely wasn't traditional dole whip so that was a bit of a let down. The only place down the shore to get the iconic orange-vanilla swirl! Many food sensitivity-friendly options, like dairy-free dole whips and Italian ices, and a few sugar-free hard ice cream flavors. There was a long line but we moved through it quickly thanks to the efficient servers. We received huge portions of "small" orange-vanilla soft serve cones--rolled in rainbow sprinkles, of course! There is a covered patio area with tables right outside the restaurant, as well as a seating area connected to the ice cream shop. Kohr's is one of my favorite ice cream places in New Jersey, and you can bet I'll be back again before my vacation is done! read more

The Kohr's frozen custard shop in Lavalette, NJ is awful. I ordered a large chocolate custard with chocolate sprinkles in a cup and the custard looked like dark brown and tasted awful. I left the ice cream cup on the counter looked up the "real" Kohr's original frozen custard place in Pt. Pleasant in NJ and purchased a cup of the beautiful and tasty chocolate custard there and enjoyed it all! I do not recommend to anyone to go to Kohr's in Lavalette. The servers there were also awful. In my view they are misrepresenting themselves. They are not affiliated with the Kohr's frozen custard chain. read more

Orangeade tastes like diluted to the nth degree! Tastes like orange colored water...no flavor. In over 60 years we have never tasted Kohrs Orangeade so bad! Very disappointed. All 3 Orangeades were below par. read more

I went today and got a small and a large cup of soft serve The small was half full and cost $5.50 The large was $7 was the same size as the small I commented immediately but I didn't want to cause a scene so I left when I got home to eat the ice cream it was gritty and bad that ice cream had turned I called to complain and all they did was say they were sorry! So it was a huge waste of money a huge waste of time! I'm a resident & I will never go back there again! They should've offered me my money back or at least hard ice cream that wasn't bad! $12.50 and I got nothing not even common courtesy that's what happens when you leave children in charge of your business!!! read more

My wife loves custard and she said this stuff was the real deal. After all, it is supposed to be where custard was invented. We were disappointed to find the ones in Wildwood all closed, but the one in Cape May was open. This stuff is thick and rich, the vanilla and orange twist is very good, not great. read more

Orange creme soft serve (orange vanilla swirly thing). So good. Granted, it can get crowded especially with the warm weather we have been having this summer. Know that there is a flavor and ice creme creation for everyone and the hand dipped is a special treat for sure, though I can't seem to ever eat these right LOL. The staff is kids working summer jobs and I gotta give them props for handling the large crowds and little ones that are so excited for ice creme that just choosing a flavor is major decision and as a parent, I find it both amusing and charming, even if others get annoyed. We were all kids once and you KNOW you want sprinkles! The waffle cones are delicious so order your ice creme in one. I have asked now and again to have the chocolate dip they uses for ice creme dipped--- swirled inside my waffle cone to give it a harder shell inside to keep the ice creme from making the cone soggy. I don't mind paying extra, I have no idea what the extra charge is, but I don't care, I pay it! so I can eat my waffle cone at a more leisurely pace. What happened to this place? It was our go to. The portions are very small especially in relation to the price. You can only get one size of the ice which is more like a sherbet. The young girls were rude to my elderly father when he questioned this. We have a house near here and we won't be back. read more

They brought it back! Hooray for Kohr's! In August of this year I decided to take my daughters to Kohr's in Lavalette, and I was pleasantly surprised. On the side of the building, a hand-painted signs bears a complete list of available flavor options, there it read "Creme d'Mint". I quickly motioned my girls to the entrance and (amazingly) was served immediately. The flavor is exactly as I remember - way to go, Kohr's! Why only 3 stars? The singular line for service can get long during and after dinner hour, and the setup for service hasn't changed. Thank you for bringing back a classic flavor. read more

Kohr's is a staple in our family. We went multiple times on our vacation, and it truly is the best soft custard around! The employees are very nice, and even when it was busy they didn't get frustrated with our large group. Who doesn't like ice cream? Kohr's is a Jersey shore icon. Not much to say here because it is an ice cream joint. They do it right. Staffed with nice, attentive kids working a summer job. Great ice cream. My only complaint is that I paid around four dollars for a caramel milkshake. The milkshake was good, but before I took even one sip I looked inside to see that the cup was only filled a little bi more than half way! This Kohr's is so dirty inside and out we no longer want to get ice cream here. The outside tables and benches are so sticky and dirty, the trash overflows and smells, the sidewalk is in desperate need of a power washing, the front doorway is dirty... it's sad, almost as sad as the half dead and fake plants they have outside. Lavallette is such a beautiful town it deserves better! We recently emailed Kohr's and never received a response.
