The only thing I have to say is I saw a old man in a wheel chair STRUGGLING to get around and he was Almsot falling out of the chair because he couldn't push him self and he asked an employee for help looking for jewelry isle. The employee (I didn't catch his name) just looked at him and pointed in the general direction instead of asking him if he would like help getting down there as he was CLEARLY watching the old man struggle. So I decided to go help the old man get there since kohls employees apparently lack any sentimental skills. Other than that... Lots of good deals, lines move pretty quick, not a whole bunch to choose from, and everything is kinda disorganized sometimes other wise it's a good place to shop read more

I went with a friend to this Kohl's location on May 19, 2018, and I was so shocked at the condition of the store that I actually called national customer service while still there to tell them what a state the store was in. Clothes were thrown across racks, laying on the ground and just in a horrible state. I witnessed at least one customer roll their cart across the clothes on the floor as there was no way around it. I found a damaged electronic price sign under one rack, stains on the carpet and just a generally unpleasant shopping environment. The few employees that were present were pretty clearly not caring and were quite happy to be pointlessly moving clothes from one end of a rolling rack, and then repeated it moving to the other end. Yes, I actually witnessed this. I have actually never been in a Kohl's before, and after this experience,​ I don't see the need to ever go in one again if this is what their stores look like. read more

kohls, I am irritated. I've Tied to take your survey at least 3 times and every time I try to do it talk to text it kicks me out. I am irritated because you make us all walk in one door together. I am assuming that's a safety counter measure but it doesn't make much sense with your shoving us off together and then you make us all go to 1 checkout and wait forever in line with everybody else. You counter act your safety measure. And anybody that's immune compromised or fatally sick or just can't walk, your screwing them over because they have to walk from one end of the store to the other end of the store, then they have to stand with everybody and their brother that's in the store. You have 2 doors keep both doors open, let us walk in both doors, and you may be short staffed but you know what, put your cashiers at 2 different ends so that I don't have to stand with everybody else when I checking out ,you've got aline a 4th of the way around the store I don't want to stand with everybody else in the store. Decent selection but their sales are not as good as the Ankeny location. Sales staff is no where to be found. Only one register open and when the cashier called for backup no one came until the second page was put out. They have a decent selection but the store was cluttered with boxes and racks of things to be put out making it hard to get around. Overall not what I expect from Kohls. read more

Kohl's was always a major staple in our family growing up because it was the easiest way for my mother of four to outfit us all on the cheap. As an adult I had somewhat drifted away from Kohl's because it just didn't seem to have the air of class that I wanted. After having living in Houston and Los Angeles for the last few years I just never had a reason to step foot in a Kohl's...Now that I'm back in Des Moines, my mom convinced me to give Kohl's a try when I told her I needed some threads for an upcoming trip to D.C. I am so glad I went to this Kohl's location today! Seriously, I can shop in both their juniors' and misses' sections and find so many pieces that work for me. There are juniors' brands that I remember from way back when that are actually keeping up very well with contemporary style--like Union Bay, So and Pink Republic. The misses' section has a wide variety of lines and styles that I guarantee any stylish gal can find some rockin' pieces whether she's in her 20s or 60s. Their housewares section is also fabulous. Let me get down to the REAL reason to shop at Kohl's...the sales are virtually constant and if you have a Kohl's card you can get away with some major hauls without breaking the bank at all. This location is awesome! The main Kohl's store in Des Moines is the Merle Hay location but since this location is in West Des Moines you know they really have to be on their game--and they are. The woman who rang me out was beyond sweet and helpful. I live close to the Merle Hay location but anytime I'm way out west I will forever be tempted to stop into this Kohl's. read more

I was coming in this morning to pick up an online order for my mom. I went to the online pick up counter and there were two older ladies there. Instead of helping me they just continued on with their conversation ignoring me and didn't help me until they had finished talking to each other which was a few minutes. When I finally did get helped I still had to wait because she wanted to put away boxes of shoes instead of helping me first. She wasn't rude or anything but the fact that I couldn't even get helped because they wanted to continue talking to each other is kind of ridiculous. read more

Went here to get some new work clothes. Found some great deals with pants and a few dress shirts as well. I bought a pair of nice dress shoes. They didn't have my size out on the shelf but the gentlemen working was very helpful on finding my size in the back room. And for another pair. They didn't have my size there but he offered to check another Kohls where my size was available. The store was very nice and clean. The staff was awesome! read more

I came here to sample the fragrances, and I was completely impressed. They have a great selection of women's selection and limited-yet-nice selection for men. I was so impressed with what this Kohl's location was offering for men. They had out some very hard-to-find fragrances since they are a bit older - such as Kouros by YSL, Unforgivable by Sean John, the new gimmicky 007 fragrances, several Hugo Boss flankers, several Curve flankers, and older Ed Hardy fragrances. The best part? I didn't have some sales person pestering me about the fragrances and giving their unsolicited and always-positive opinions. read more

I'm sad to give this rating but it's only for the store at 6515 Mills Civic in WDM. I stopped going to the store because it is a bloody mess. The clothes have not been rehung or picked up from the floor. It's obvious that there's not enough help OR the help needs upgraded. I can't say enough good things about this store. Not only is it a beautiful store full of wonderful merchandise; the employees are amazing. About ten days ago I was in Iowa visiting my elderly parents and I took my mom to her favorite store; Kohl's of course, to purchase towels and sheets. The day before my mother had given me an expensive bracelet she had purchased in Texas wanting to make sure that I was the recipient someday. It was her favorite bracelet and it was a cherished moment. I wore it to Des Moines shopping with her and lost it. I was devastated and called every store and doctor's office I had visited, to see if anyone had possibly turned the bracelet in. No one had, Kohl's took down my phone number in case anything was turned in. I heard nothing for a week and had given up, it would have been a miracle for someone to have picked up a beautiful bracelet and then be honest enough to turn it in and then have an employee take the time to call me. WELL MIRACLES HAPPEN!!! After one week they called and said they thought they had my bracelet and they did! Susan Turner and Sherry Begolka made it happen. They communicated with me, called me every step of the way until my bracelet made it's home back to Austin, Texas. I can't thank these honest, sincere ladies and the rest of the staff enough. The people in Iowa are one of a kind. I will never lose this bracelet again! read more

I like shopping here and they usually have some pretty good deals! I'm a cardholder so I usually get coupons and rewards in the mail that I like to use. They usually have a good selection of items. The clearance racks can be a little out of control and the sizes are in the wrong places and on the wrong size hangers. Once I was returning a clock that didn't work, they no longer had it in the store and I didn't have my receipt and apparently didn't pay with my credit card for them to look it up, so they offered me a penny for the return! I really thought they could have exchanged it for a clock of the same price or something, just because I didn't have the receipt they couldn't do anything! Normally returns are very easy but this occasion was quite frustrating as I really liked this clock and was sad that it was defective! Last time I visited I was interested in purchasing a ring and browsed the jewelry counter for quite a while at least 15 minutes, there were several employees that walked by me and not a word was said to me, after scoping everything out I finally tracked down a sales person to help me look at some jewelry in the case and she called someone to come help me. I ended up purchasing 3 items out of the case, but was sad that I was not acknowledged at all when clearly looking in the case! I will still return and hope for a better experience. This location is very convenient and close to a lot of other shops that I like to go to. There are two entrances so parking is never that bad! read more

I love Kohls! I get nearly all of my three girls' clothing here. They are always having a sale and send great coupons in the mail! Love that they are open earlier and later than the mall (and many other stores). Highly recommend! read more

I had an absolutely terrible experience with this location. The associate had charged me the incorrect amount because the clothes rang up at the incorrect price and not at the sale price. She had already charged me and I advised I was mischarged and she got irritated and told me she wished I would have told her the sale price before she put the transaction through. She had moved too quickly for me to catch anything. She then told me she would void the transaction and re-run it, however she didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. I called later than night after checking my online banking, because I paid with a debit card, noticing I was charged twice. The associate had advised me to print out my online banking statement and drive back to the location for them to resolve. I drove the 30 minutes it takes me from Altoona to get to that location to find out that it wasn't necessary for me to drive back because the amount "should" have already been credited. I waited a couple days and never saw the credit. I then called again to that location, and asked to speak with a manager. I asked the manager what card service they use and she had replied with "That's a great question, I'm not sure." She was of absolutely no help and told me the credit "should" show within 7-10 days. Terrible service, completely unhelpful, and I have been charged $80.00 for a $30.00 purchase and the situation still isn't resolved and I STILL don't have my money back. read more
